>No mention of Half-Life being kill
Let's discuss our favourite zelda dungeons. As I reflect I can't really pinpoint out any dungeon that charms me, I've always found them decent and that only. I like the fire dungeon, it has enough verticality and puzzles to make it interesting, although some of them aren't that well made imo (the lava wall section). but overall the atmosphere and scale are nice. I forget if the boss for this is the creature that tries to steamroll you or something else.

(((Zelda)))
>>4214807
Fuck off. Zelda is great.
>>4214807
>universally acclaimed franchise is bad
Stop being such a contrarian hipster.
how is it? I'm looking to play mario bros 2 (lost levels) and doki doki panic
>>4216401
Works good, audio might not be the same, (I'm waiting for a RAM adapter to arrive so I can compare the differences in sound). High tones does seem louder though.
>>4216840
thanks anon, that is rather unfortunate since I care a lot about sound
It works perfectly fine, except for the sound. The sound emulation is horrendously out of tune. Krikzz has known about this forever but has shown no intent to fix it, which is fucking stupid.
If you want accurate FDS sound with the convenience of a flashcart, you'll need to buy a legit FDS + an FDSStick.
What do u guys consider retro? This game came out in 2002, but there is a thread about it
Must we have this same thread everyday. I just want to have a comfy time and discuss good ol' retro games. But no, we have to have naggers ruin the fun and demand 6th gen be retro.
To answer your question, this is basically RCT1 which came out in 1999 with some added content, scenarios and expansion packs. Since the first is retro, it would make since for this to be discussed as well.
>>4214735
this is basically ff4 which came out in 1991 with some added content, updated graphics and new spells. Since the first is retro, it would make since for this to be discussed as well.
>>4214752
sure why not, its a remake that doesn't stray too far from the original. so what did you want to talk about for this specific version?
Lethal FlailFist and Grimith do a funny LP of Daggerfall.

TheRealAntroid does an amusing and educational LP of a Doom WAD called DTS-T.
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGrCiTVJvPsE-rz8i47Y8lRcsHDP4kv-u
His friend Hipp0cat does an amusing, often-frustrated LP of the great Deus Vult WAD.

Not retro. Go fuck yourself underageb&
Doom and Daggerfall are not retro? Wut
>>4214526
Eceleb garbage is not retro, champ.
Part of me is upset that Metal Slug is nothing but Titty mobage nowadays, but another part of me is glad we got MS 1 2 and 3, arguably the greatest trilogy of run and guns ever.
MS has always been about tits tho.
Have you seen the Playstation galleries?
When 7 and XX both came out everyone shat on it for no reason. Maybe it's a good thing they stopped making games.
ALSO NOT RETRO
>>4216117
>>4216124
The problem isn't tits, but the lack of imagination.
When you think of Metal Slug you think of cool machines, expressive soldiers, freaky paranatural creatures, sci-fi mars people, guns, cool guys and cute girls.
the problem with Metal slug attack is that anything that's not a recolor is a big-boob'd lady, a cute moe girl, or a bikini version of a previously added lady. no variety.
but even if they started getting creative and imaginative it would all still be limited to a mobile game. at which point you should just enjoy any effort they're putting towards this and just replay MS s'more. Feelin' like I should make a metal slug fan engine or something. Wanna add that mummy cat as an enemy.
>>4216126
people shat on it because it's the boringest of metal slugs to play through.
>not including 32x and CD support

Because you really want a CD base portable game system? Do you even remember the nightmare of using a diskman?
The Great Debate
>>4215979
no u
Jap got the better soundtrack and US the better difficulty balancing. Neither are perfect.
Just bought this game today. What should I expect and exactly how good is it?
>Watch videos about pic related
>Everyone is playing with the crosshair on
I understand that this is pretty much a wiimote with a fancier case but is the accuracy so shitty that you can't even use it as a normal lightgun? Experiences?
>inb4 get a crt
Have 3, two guncons and a DC lightgun, just looking for something I can plug into my PC.
I've been wondering about this lately. I get that with old fashioned light guns the screen had to flash for a frame or so to show the gun where the target is. CRTs basically have zero latency so the guns and software were calibrated for that, even 1 or 2 frames of lag would make it impossible to aim.
What if the software were modded/adjusted to flash for 2-4 frames instead of the 1? I get that it would alter the feel of the game, but would that help solve the issue of modern TVs? Or am I way off and there are other issues at work?
Plug your CRT into your computer. Then you can use a Guncon 2. There are USB drivers.
>>4214354
anyone know how did the guncon 1 interfaces with the console through the standard ps1 controller port? it must be doing something special because i doubt something like a ps1 to usb controller adapter would actually work with it.
Is there a bigger joke than people who actually think they're getting an enjoyable experience playing a game via emulation. First, there is no such thing as 100% perfect emulation. There NEVER will be. Whether it's frame hiccups not present on actual hardware, or other miscellaneous lag (like from your gay wireless retro controller) you are not getting anything resembling authenticity. Then there's image quality. Retro games were, with no uncertainty, NOT designed for high res flat screens. CRT filters are no substitute for authentic displays, not to mention they further reduce performance of your emulator.
Now if all that wasn't enough to completely ruin your immersion, you have features like save states and rewind that completely negate the purpose of playing the games in the first place. And if you're playing on your fucking phone? Get real. Emulation is fucking garbage.
>>4215920
Ok.
Cool story bro.
Not to mention the severe input lag and ugly graphical filters and shaders.
Any spoiler free tips for someone playing this for the first time? I've played up to the Reclaimers Hideout
I mostly play WRPGs and FPS, but I've been attempting to get into JRPGs, I currently only have FF6, 7, 8 and Vagrant Story so any reccomendations would also be appreciated.
Sword>Magicite
Evade doesn't do shit even on PS1

Vanish+Doom
>>4215820
>Vanish+Doom
DON'T DO THIS
It's basically playing with a gameshark.
>>4215796
The game is easy as fuck even casually, you don't want to read up on broken stuff.
This was was a copy of A Link To The Past.
Ends up being better than A Link To The Past
So much better than Link to the past, I still listen to the soundtrack.
I'm still waiting for a remake.
>>4214452
>it's a mental illness to talk about games that copied others without getting upset
Which of these games is the unchallenged king of the sidescrolling beat em up genre in terms of long term replay value?
Knights Of Valour 2
Sengoku3
Denjin Makai 2
And no, I didn't forget Final Fight.
>>4214186
You forget D&D.
Looking for fighting games. I've always been into 2D models and spent most of my time on Marvel vs. Capcom but now I kind of feel tired of it but every other game looks silly.
Also, anyone play Street Fighter 3 on retro consoles or PS2 port is just better?
>>4215072
Yeah, after playing Marvel vs. Capcom for so long simply no other fighting games compares
Try rival schools/project justice. It's 3D but has all sorts of crazy mvc style shit.
Not even sure what you're getting at, all Capcom CPS2 games had the same art style to me.
Anybody here ever did it?
>>4214053
yes
I did it
I was going to do the HDMI mod, but for a couple extra bucks, I ordered a RetroUSB AVS instead.
