"Let's make a short, fun platforming game about a little marshmallow guy who sucks enemies into his mouth and spits them out as projectiles. Also we'll put Lolo and his girlfriend in it as bosses."

because they haven't thought of that yet

Copy abilities are a pretty weird concept when you think about it.
Found this pretty decent list of SNES games. It doesn't have Zelda on it and yet Punch Out is on it... What?!

What is the best version of Rayman to play?

The one that's not fucking impossible
Get yourself the Jaguar version, make sure you output RGB (scart). The colours are vivid, the picture is sharp, and no load time to boot. It was originally going to be an exclusive to the Jaguar, but was coded for it and then ported to other versions based off the code. I personally like how its missing some things they added in the Playstation version, its cleaner and more stylish.
Its expensive these days for it but you can find repros and a flash cart is coming.

Says who? I think it's objectively better than Rondo of Shit.
What is your favorite Sega console?
Probably the Genesis, but goddamn the Dreamcast is a VERY close second. I played my Game Gear a lot, but I have to admit, the games were shit.
Saturn
I honestly love them all, I'm a Segaphile. If I had to arrange them, according to how many hours I put on them probably
1. Genesis
2. Dreamcast
3. Saturn
4. Master System
Playing this, going with a firearms/crafting build since it seems good for a first timer with Virgil and Magnus. Any tips?

>going with a firearms/crafting build since it seems good for a first timer with Virgil and Magnus
actually that's one of the hardest builds in the game. If you want to go tech, I'd pick anything other than firearms to attack; they're underpowered, slow and you'll need a shitton of points to git gud (dex + per + int to craft the good guns). But since you're in Tarant already (because you mentioned magnus), it's too late for that. So here are my tips:
there's a certain gnome in tarant that carries a hand cannon. You can steal it using a fate point. It will carry you for a long time.
you'll get the best guns by mixing tech disciplines and using found schematics, such as the tesla gun, so you'll have to spend MORE points. As I said, tech is a waste of points and you'll progress very slowly, but if you're not afraid of challenge it can be fun
since you'll need to carry lots of trash to craft, you'll need even more points to put in charisma, so you get more followers to carry stuff around. In Shrouded hills you can get a strong ogre if yu have 9 charisma, he's ideal to carry stuff and he's a brute for killing enemies. Since you're tech, I'll advise you to not add magickal followers (except for Virgil since he has a personal plot that it's interesting, but once you have too much tech aptitude, his healing spells won't work on you)
Speaking of followers, once you get to Ashbury, you can recruit a dog if you're fast enough (he's timed, he can die). He's the most powerful follower but it can be game breaking at times. Don't pick him if you want a challenge, pick him if you're struggling a lot in battles. He won't count towards your follower limit.
It's advisable too that you get a tech healer, since you don't want to spread your points further and be mediocre everywhere. Derholm has a female follower that can craft basic healing items.
Best tech discipline for battle is explosives, but you'll have to improve your throwing skill to a decent level

being tech-inclined doesn't mean that you can't use some magic, especially buffs that give always the same result regardless of aptitude. Agility of Fire and Strength of Earth are a must and will help immensely to overcome point spreading for tech builds, but watch that fatigue metter when using them. If you're going to have a high willpower (because you're interested in haggle or whatever), getting that teleportation spell is a must (you'll be travelling A LOT), otherwise just use boats and trains
usually many quests have multiple solutions to them. It's more fun if you live with your errors (what's the point of a rpg then?) but don't be afraid of thinking outside the box.
Lockpicks (and some points in that skill) are always useful, but you can brute force your way and destroy chests and doors (it won't be "silent" though). You can either let your followers do that (using the function keys) or do it yourself by alt+clicking over the thing you want to damage.
save a lot, game can be buggy even with patches
you'll find sometimes cursed magical items that can drain your stamina or even kill you. think out of the box before discarding them, they might be useful in some cases
experiment, the game leaves a lot of room for that
I really enjoyed the playstyle of this game. Could anyone recommend me some similar games?

This game was so gud.
Every time this thread or image pops up, I can't help but see this bloated fuck. I'm not familiar with the game, is the resemblance intentional?

maybe. he's a mysterious and suave character that could be played by brando in the inevitable movie
What are the best totally bonkers racing games that don't take anything seriously from the 90s? Big Red Racing is one of those that are very close to my heart. I loved the demo's Japan map and we played it for hours and hours with friends.
BRR was amazing. I loved all the different types of vehicules. Also fucking off the course to explore the terrain around was amazing at the time.
I also liked B.C Racers and Street Racers.

Are there any Game Boy ports of console games that are better than the original? The only example I can think of is Castle Quest.
The controls feel more fluid than in Soloman's Key.

Daikatana.
Dr. Mario.
The code in the NES version is a copy & paste mess which results in you getting exactly the pill you don't need seven times in a row, while the GB version has a true RNG to their pill generation.
Remember, it's not the X button, it's not the cross button, it's the fork button. Please refer to the PS1 controller's buttons by their correct names.
Okay.

What happened to people who were sprouted?
Maybe oblivion? I think it's just supposed to be like getting shot with cool flavor for the setting. I really don't think writers obsess over this shit.
Maybe a living excruciating agony, being literally rooted in one spot and having your bones and body ground into nothing by the flowers. Finally release as the flowers die and blow away after completely digesting your bones.
Manny seemed more afraid of it than a normal person would be of being shot, and that it was more socially unacceptable to even own such a weapon than it is to be a known murderer.
Apparently Tim Schafer revealed in the commentary for Grim Fandango Remastered version that those who are sprouted are reincarnated back into the land of the living.
