I work on a cruise ship where I can only bring my phone for gaming. I'm heading back soon and want to emulate some great games.
Mainly so far I emulate GBA games (pic related), but I really want the best recommendations you guys have
I have a Galaxy S8+ so if you think of any mobile games or other systems I should emulate post those too.

I've been in a rut with gaming for a while now and am wondering if you guys would be willing to recommend me a game or two to try out
pic is a jumbled mess of games that I love - I'm sure there's a ton I'm not thinking of atm but that's sort of the gist of it.
I really like games that are sort of action/adventure/dungeon crawlish rpgs where you can collect all kinds of loot that have a good atmosphere (whether its cozy like harvest moon/shining in the darkness or kind of dark like king's field or system shock)
I also am a big fan of rpgs with a twist in terms of game mechanics like elemental gearbolt being a lightgun shooter rpg or metal walker being a billiards simulator rpg

ok I just got one of these and I really like it, but how do I use it with bsnes. I have the firmware and everything but bsnes wont recognize it when i have controller port 1 set to game pad or anything else.

Yes, which is the first thing anyone will say positive about that game.
I still enjoyed those emerald stages, how colorful the game was and those sprites.
The mechanic was interesting, but not well executed. The zones didn't helped that much because they were here and there, as they being 5 acts each.
If this ever gets a Remake treatment, they should include Sonic and Tails as unlockables. As changing the random of the zone select, at the very least making it slower or something.

They probably made the zones random because pretty much all the acts look and play the same, so getting through the same level 5 times would have been even more of a chore. And there's 5 acts instead of 2 or 3 probably because making levels with preestablished assets is a lot faster than making new zones. Everything about this game screams rushed.

I'm trying to remember the name of a video game I played a very long time ago. It was a PC game that I would guess was made in the 90s, a sidescroller with primitive 3D graphics. The only specific details I can remember are that it had two playable characters, a normal man and a "beast" of some sort, and the levels alternated between letting you play one or the other. There may have been levels where they worked together as well. The man had a normal name like John or Jack or something and one of the levels was named something like "John gets a gun" (probably not the actual name since I get nothing when I google it). Does anyone know what it is? Image unrelated.

Best way is to hook it up and see. You could also compare official cables to the one you're looking to buy and see if the connector (console end) has the same pin out. This will help root out obvious low quality cables that probably lack proper grounds. most of the time all cheap manufactures buy connectors with all the pins populated but neglect to use the proper pins and go for the bare minimum of putting out a video signal. So that kills that idea.
