i think LTTP is a more complete game - it covers more bases
whereas SM has more of a specific goal it is trying to accomplish, but it's nigh-perfect at accomplishing that goal
it's kind of hard to compare the two since they are so similar in some respects and so different in others. it comes down to identifying not only what makes the games unique, but makes them actually good as well

What games have the best towns and cities? Somewhere that has a lot of unique NPCs, locations and pleasant music. Lindblum from FFIX comes to mind but that's nostalgia talking. Vivec from Morrowind is definitely interesting but it does feel very static. The Witcher 1 and 2 definitely have some lively towns and cities. I haven't played 3 yet.
I've heard that Trails in the Sky is really good for unique NPCs but I can't remember if I made that up.
Any thoughts?

What the fuck happened to the horror scene? Outlast and Amnesia created a wave of indy 3D horror, but they seemed to have all died off, last big thing in horror was "Five Nights at Freddy's" + the copy pasted sequels but nothing else seems to be going on anymore.
