The general info seems to be about finding a balance between everyday odd jobs, and murder/supernatural investigation.

Plus work as a photographer/reporter, because there's a lot of info about pictures and upgrading your camera.

I don't expect advanced gameplay, but gameplay was never really Swery's strong suit. It's about the exploration and weird character interactions.

It sounds like Recettear/Dead Rising+Deadly Premonition+Tokyo Jungle, that's pretty much the opposite of boring. Given that even the SNES Harvest Moon can be really engaging you must either lack imagination or be a complete casual.
