My roommate and I are getting back into D&D since high school and I need a good name for my bard because I'm an unclever, unfunny asshole. Last name posted wins. Definitively.

How do you make hiveminded parasites interesting?
Depends on how you fucked up and made them boring to begin with.Jokes aside they're trying to get enough biological and digital computational power to reach apotheosis
>>53793906
Make them all sexual deviants
The parasites have discourse between one another and no action is taken until a consensus is reached.
How do we fix commoners /tg/?
I really want to play one, but the class kinda blows
>>53792806
Try multi-classing into pilgrim. It's pretty much the same kit but you can pick up some sweet blessings.
>>53792806
It's *supposed* to blow.
If you want it to be good, YOU'RE the problem.
>>53792806
Assuming you mean 3.5e Commoner NPC class: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?232822-The-Commoner-Handbook
Does a pretty good job on showing you how to make a powerful level 1 Commoner. Not as weak if you pull BS out of supplements
How do I deal with the urge to throw away and burn my entire shitty looking 40k army I made as a shit kid and hate looking at because its shit
>>53791331
Do it. Film it and upload it while shrieking about chadmarines as well.
>>53791331
Sell it on eBay. I had about...20? 40? of the old plastic tactical marines and after I learned how to paint decently on them and bought a bunch of cooler looking FW marines that I mixed and customized, I couldn't stand the sight of the old ones so I tossed them.
Drop them in turpentine over night and then repaint?
ITT: Post interesting character ideas
>A ranger with a pet bear. The bear is actually the ranger's druid friend who can't transform back.

>>53791124
A bear with a pet ranger.
Everyone is bears and humans are wild animals.
>>53791171
>humans are the wood elves of the setting
>GM's plot is just a platform to express their thinly veiled political opinions
Figure out what their opinion is, play the opposite.
>>53791107
Semi-related. Our usual DM is pretty fundie and tried to get the party riled up because a big cities government had outlawed carrying weapons larger than a dagger in the city. I shouted "THEY'RE GONNA TAKE OUR SWORDS!!!" in a hick accent. Everyone laughed, no one cared, and he never did anything that heavyhanded again.
Our GM abruptly derailed our big fantasy dungeon crawler to pit us up against Donald Trump except a goblin named "Dooga Drumpf" and his "Cult of the Tiny Hand God"
I didn't even vote for the guy, but not liking Trump doesn't mean that I wanted our almost year-long game to suddenly get sidetracked by "Dooga Drumpf is gonna build a wall to keep out all the gnomes xd"
Everyone else at the table thinks this is the funniest shit but I just want to get back to hunting the vampire lord we were hunting five months back. He was a threat we had been building up all campaign, and now he's "in hiding" so we can fight Dooga Drumpf for months worth of "sideplot" sessions.
>Before he does that, I'm going to...
>Wait! I want to...
>While they're arguing about that, I...
Over and over and over again, the players preempt one another with their own actions, bidding back the resolution of any task so far that the GM inevitably loses track of what everyone's trying to do. When he asks for a summary, the players disagree about what's happening when, and the argument starts all over again, trying to cut in line and be first, and to make sure their wishes are heard and acted on before anything can actually happen in the story.
What is there that can be done about this?
>>53790582
Roll for initiative, resolve actions in order.
Alternatively tell them to stop acting like fucking children.
>>53790582
This lettering reminds me of the slutty elf comic.
>>53790582
Let it happen. If they get nothing done they get nothing done, you're not their employer, why would you care about their efficiency?
As for tracking things, write it down, draw flowcharts if you need to.
I want to run a game set in a grim fantasy world. Somewhere between Berserk and Game of thrones for tone. I need a system to run it in.
My first thought was to lift the system from Currant Fractal, but my french is horrible and I don't want to have to translate it for everyone since it isn't in English and none of us live in Quebec.
I don't want to do D&D/Pathfinder because I want magic to be a bit more rare and come at a price/be more difficult. Think like Shadowrun's system where magic drains your strength and Stamina till you pass out.
Anyone got any ideas for a good system that can carry a good mortality factor (i.e. characters aren't overly hard to kill but harder to kill than the average mook) that can allow for magic but makes magic have some risk to make it not the answer to everything?
Guess I'll give this a bump huh?
I'm thinking about having slavery being clearly a thing, and Chattle slavery is something that at least one kingdom is economically dependent upon.
In other kingdoms it exists in the form of indentured servitude where people work and die to pay off their debts if they should go bankrupt. no kingdom is without legalized slavery, of some shade, in some more "good" kingdoms it is seen as permissible because it is temporary until they pay off their debt.

Also how do you guys feel about taking cheap ww2 model planes and tanks and making them orky?
Also how do you recommend outfitting deff dread?

120 sluggas, 60 grots.
How viable is daemonic summoning? I've been hashing it out, and it seems like a good way to deliver some of the slower units to the battlefield. How many points should one reserve?

Mine's only murderous when there's lives on the line, but if you threaten people she'll hunt you down and feed you to dogs.

No.
No.
Orks were never good.
