How do you make hiveminded parasites interesting?
Depends on how you fucked up and made them boring to begin with.Jokes aside they're trying to get enough biological and digital computational power to reach apotheosis

Make them all sexual deviants
The parasites have discourse between one another and no action is taken until a consensus is reached.
They enter the host body through the anus.
Call them women

Read this.
Get some coffee or tea first, though, it's a tough read at times. The one before it's much easier but not really about the hivemind QUITE as much so it doesn't fit your quest. Still good, though.
Make them non malevolent. They just wanna experience the universe, but never evolved bodies like other races. Their mind is a gestalt, all of them together form the whole. They just want to experience as many things as possible.

This, and play up the fact that it's all one 'person'. That one you just walked up to in the shop continues the conversation you had with one an hour ago on the other side of town, and doesn't consider this unusual at all.

They have a really huge and flamboyant personality, but they all share it. Like a big, theatrical, metrosexual drama queen who's everywhere no matter where you turn.
It is also quite fearless because in order for it to die you'd have to kill off most of its constituent population, numbering in the millions or perhaps billions, which is a part of why it takes absolutely nothing seriously at all and is always a huge troll.

Make them symbiotic in effect despite parasitic in nature. Make the bonding benifical to the host with some kind of buff, free telepathy or soemthing like that but have it slowly but surely devour them over time until the host is nothing more than a home for the babies that will eventually spring forth from the left over husk. Make it take decades before that happens though.
