What do your characters dreams look like?
What would their silent hill look like?
Have your games ever gone into surreal indie game territory?(Yumi Nikki, LISA, off, etc?)
I have found that these two songs are great for battles

Would you play a LISA ttrpg?
Lisa would be a fun setting

I had a brief stint into two wonky dimensions.
First one was basically a giant void with a prophetic door in it, a seemingly endless trek through the void, and then meeting the friendly local void people.
Second time was a 4th dimensional bazaar in which shit got meta real fast and I made a player actually have an existential crisis.

Thread Question:
Counterspells: What is their place in EDH?
>>54695115
Counterspells should be used to stop game-ending plays, or to protect your own. Most decks probably only want a small handful to stop "Genesis Wave for X= Fuck You", or to stop the Doom Blade that would break their combo.
I'm fine with counters, but Baral Counterspell.dec is overboard.
Second for WotC makes custom unofficial black bordered cards.
I only come here to steal secret tech.
What would be the consequences of matrilineality in a society?
Both males and females can inherit from their male and female relatives from the mother side but not the father side.
When a male dies, his estate is inherited by his closest males and females relatives from his mother side but not his father side or his children.

Cardfight placing in the top 10 for CCGs. I legitimately have not seen a tourney for that in years. Force of Will gets an honorable mention because it has a shitty translation job.

Fake news edition.
>Denied permanent form by the Great Changer, the daemon prince had found a way to turn his curse into a gift. Every time Archaon’s blessed blade nicked, stabbed or sliced through the abomination’s flesh it was the emptiness of shadow. Whenever Be’lakor’s huge blade came down at the Chaos warrior, however, the daemon prince momentarily assumed all the monstrous brawn and infernal ire of his physical form. How Archaon could defeat such a creature– that was at once everything and nothing– he did not know. While his mind reeled with the futility of the task, his father-in-shadow proceeded to press his diabolical advantage.

>The centre of the chamber had been scoured bare. The altar was gone. There was no sign of the sorcerers, the warpstone sigil, or anything else for that matter besides a hole in the ground. Power crackled across the chamber, incandescent flares licking the walls and causing stone to dribble like fat. Black horrors gambolled without purpose, slapping into columns and each other as the walls shook. And in the midst of their disarray, a dark angel wavered like smoke.
>It was Be’lakor.
>The daemon prince was almost as large as the Beast, larger still if one counted its leathery wingspan or the jagged height of its black crown. But where that degraded monster had been a rounded mass of malformed muscle and bone plates, Be’lakor was lithe, his powerful body sculpted in volcanic glass. That statuesque might was now hunched, as though wounded, bat wings cocooning its body. How it had come to be hurt, Felix could only hazard. Gotrek’s axe passed through the daemon’s leg trailing a wisp of black smog.
>The daemon laughed coldly, the creak of glacial ice. ‘You have taken my army, you have beaten my champion. My ritual has been spoiled but not ruined.’ The daemon’s voice was sonorous and smooth, but just a voice now that it did not cross planes. The chamber trembled, sending dust through the daemon’s body. It chuckled darkly, as though tickled. ‘I will be free. I may find myself five years past or five hundred. It is but a turning of the world to an immortal.’
>‘We’re both here now, you sack of steam.’ Gotrek made another swing. The runes of his axe flared with a frustrated brilliance as they clove through the smoke that was the daemon prince, Be’lakor. ‘Fight me now and have done.’
>Be’lakor continued to fade. Only an outline remained, shadow upon shadow, a hint of a crown. ‘Your doom is coming. Trust that when it nears, it will be my hand that guides it.’

None of the people in my group have played any wh40k games, but all would be interested in playing wh40k role playing game. I would be GMing myself and I know the lore pretty well. Which oneshot adventure should I choose for them?

Anyone?
Give us your preferred system Anon.
"wh40k rp" tells us nothing.
I'm playing my first ever modern day game and I'm going to be playing an irish immigrant to new york and i want to be able to play the character with some backstory. but i dont know jack shit about ireland or about irish crime syndicates, hell i dont even know the difference between north and south irish.
i was hoping someone could help point me in the right direction to get started on some of the irish crime stuff.
How modern? Like current year modern?
Things that change the personilty and opinions of a modern Irish person:
Northern or from the Republic? (Note that people from the North give more of a shit about British affairs in relation to Ireland than the South, the South is more concerned with the EU)
Are you from Dublin?
Are you traveller?
Are you from a rural area or a Not Dublin city?
Actually if you're a thief you're probably a itinarent and as such are a thieving gypsy scumbag.
You like Adidas tracksuits, gambling on horses and dog races and are generally aggressive and superstitious.

yep current day, the GM hasn't given an exact date but we can assume its august 2017.
son of a gun, being canadian doesnt help me one bit with this.
dublin being the only irish location i know of, and its very likely there would be some kind of mob/crime syndicate i would hazard to say yes. born and raised there.
travelled to the americas after he landed himself in some hot water.
Thank you kindly anon

Today I was told that not-adhering to to notion that a high persuasion roll should be enough to convince the BBEG to stop being evil means that I'm exhibiting "male perspective bias" for providing a route to success for non-violent characters who want to use charisma instead of combat.
Almost all problem players I have are these types of people who want to roll up a charisma based character and act indignant when I tell them a good persuasion roll can't perform miracles just like a high strength roll can't make your character lift a horse over his head.
Where do these people come from and how do we fix them?

/tg/ can't and won't answer because it's a board of brainlets. No one here knows jack shit about traditional games or strategy or anything requiring more thought than a GED. It's just a glitzy shithole of poorly disguised anime weebs who've never touched a die in their lives, card-playing junior highschoolers, LARPers living on trustfund cash and delusions of grandeur, and scruffy awkwardcool hipsters trying to play D&D because muh80s muhYoutubeWebSeries.
It's been garbage for a long damn time. Killing the wst didn't help, killing the quests didn't help, it pruned the symptoms but not the cause. This board is rotten to the core, if you've ever read or seen any of the disgusting, pathetic, downright retarded shit the users of /tg/ have written, you'd know this thing has an incurable case of fucking losers. "Get shit done" my hairy ass, all you fags can summon the energy to work on is bad porn and unbelievably cringeworthy game """concepts""".
d4 openings are simpler and safer. There's fewer possible openings with d4 and the positions tend to lead to quieter games with less tactics. Following 1. d4 with c4, g3, and Nf3 will take care of the majority of d4 openings.
e4 openings have a lot more directions they can go in. By moving 1. e4, you need to be prepared for the French, Sicilian, Scandinavian, Caro-Kann, Pirc, and Alekhine Defense aside from Black responding with 1...e4. Whereas if you open with 1. d4, you'll most likely just get 1...Nf6, 1...d5, or 1...f5. There are more opening traps, gambits, and chances for an early attack with e4 openings.

You are on planet Jorune with some alien races and ancient lasers etc. that can kill anything. Also magic. Artwork is very good, backgrounds too. But I never played it.
