Lovecraft's malevolent indifference and a world with animist spirits, the potential to Ascend, and an Astral Plane are mutually exclusive.

Granted, you can get a lot of mileage out of stressing the alien horror and immense scope of, say, an Idigam, but that's not the same as "mankind is an accident on a speck in some not-even-that-interesting corner of a minor galaxy in a cruel universe" that our good pal Howie wrote.

Why is it that people take issue with the Stormsurges creation when the Tau actually have a good reason for creating and fielding it in the face of the more powerful foes they were beginning to encounter?

The only real oddity I find with it is the fact that a Manta is used to carry it when the Tau have far more capable ships for transporting such machines of war.

Sometimes they can be worth more to collectors. Other times they're not worth much more than whatever someone is willing to pay for an oddity misprint.

Generally, high-value misprinted cards are those that are already highly valuable like planeswalkers and vintage cheese.

Most of the 6x4 folding tables are really flimsy and made for things like wargames kickstarters.

Your best (and cheapest) quality 6x4 would probably to buy two 3x4 white folding tables with brown metal legs, like people use for meetings, picnics, auditoriums, etc. They are about $30 to $35 each, making two of them even cheaper than one "wargaming" 6x4 table and also much sturdier.

Downsides? It's two tables instead of one, and they are heavier (but sturdier).

Well, D&D refined combat almost to the point where you don't need to say anything and just roll the dice. Perhaps the next edition will actually perfect it.

if you check many modules, they usually have a character interaction chart, as a guideline for how to act

also because people enjoy combat a lot, so it makes sense to put the majority of the rules there, unless you are playing a combat-light system which are outnumbered by more combat-centric games

I would want both sides to be damaged in some way as I'd rather avoid a scenario where one side gets annihilated and the other.. doesn't. that might be interesting in it's own way but it's not exactly what I am going for.

Terrorism is the plot ticket everybody else uses, how about a competent global terror group that perfectly plans out nuclear strikes in major/capital cities. Maybe a rogue state half-asses a plan to blow up the major powers with their own WMD's. In both cases you have an enemy who can either be disposed of or turned into a BBEG at your leisure.

It's also completely possible that two major powers would go to war without using nuclear weapons. After all, as powerful as they maybe, no one actually wants to be remembered as the guy who pushed the button - especially if they're fighting on their home soil.

As for changes? Horrific events on a global scale have a tendency to prompt action from the major powers. You might see disarmament on a huge scale, quickly followed by a second arms race and the search for a new weapon of deterence. Or whatever.

What kind of game will it be? Character driven, or more strategic/state level?

Commonly elves are arrogant, keep close to each other and are very condescending (if not outright racist) to other fantasy races. They have this "We're so better and wiser and so much more perfect" attitude.
This makes it easy to cast them as villains.
