I cannot remember a single thing he did to build up the universe's lore other than the paladin in the second session being a raven for some reason. Nothing seemed to have a cause or any consistency, and looking back I should have left a lot sooner.

Is the player 15 years old?

Weeelll that charachter is really a double agent, and secretly the man the counter-terror force was looking for. It could be cool in a character way if the player was also secretly the bbeg. As for the skull mask, well most cultures depict death as a combination of animal and skeleton, so the deathmask thing is probably his sense of 'cool'.

All of that said, CoD is stupid, and i regret buying it in my youth, but at least it isnt the healer dressed in the crows mask plauge doctor shtick...

if someone wants to wear unrealistic armor let them, if they only want to wear super-realstic armor let them

in fact, depending on the setting, have a bit of fun, if you have a grounded setting and someone wants spikes or bikini armor, have everyone point and laugh only to be swallow their pride when they are beaten, if you are running a fantastical campaign and somebody is wearing crusades era mail+surcoat+great helm have everybody scratch their head why he chooses to get heatrstroke in that, only for them to have their attacks suitably absorbed

as long as everyone is having fun, there shouldnt be too much issue
