It looks a bit easy to mess up in production, but otherwise is actually a fresh look for these guys.
I haven't run one of these threads in a while, so let's do this shit. I'll run a game of Everyone is John, you should be able to see the rules in the image but if it's too small go here https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Everyone_Is_John. I need 4 people and I'll take the first 4 that come. Use a name so I can tell who's saying what and put your obsession in spoiler tags, we're using the honor system for not looking at other player's obsession but it does make it less fun for yourself if you know ahead of time.
>200x272
>you should be able to see the rules
Okay.
>>52366772
I didn't take a look at it first, at least I gave you the link.

Map time, fellas, post some maps. I need fantasy town maps, streets and alleys. Big if possible. I'll post what I have.

I recently started collecting chaos space marines, and I'm willing to make my own obliterators for my Iron warriors.
I came across this pic, and I've managed to identify a few bits:
-chaos and nurgle space marine champion heads.
-chaos tank crew back plate as front plates.
-chaos tank flamethower.
and that's it.
If you could help me find out the rest I'll appreciate it.
thanks in advance.
Has anyone played this game? I just found it at a game store while on a trip. I have always been wanting to play in a Colonial America setting with some magic thrown in, I even thought about writing one if I wasn't such a miserable failure.
I thought about picking it up, but I couldn't bring myself to spend 30 bucks on a book I know nothing about and is probably mediocre at best. But if anyone knows it, is it worth reading? Even if just for ideas.
And American-inspired rpg setting thread, I guess.
No, but it looks interesting, what's it about?
>>52365320
If it doesn't have rules for Freemasonic magic then the creators missed a major opportunity.
>>52368858
It's an rpg that takes place in colonial America tight before the revolutionary war. It also has magic and monsters and shit from the folklore of this time.
>>52368886
I think it might, actually. Based on a review I found of the first edition there are two main types of magic: alchemy and the arts. Alchemy is, well alchemy. Arts is more what you would expect from magic. But like I said, I haven't read it. So I don't know for sure. I would assume they would, I flipped through it and it it seems to be written by someone who is really passionate about history and culture, it has all kinds of maps of colonies and tribes and shit.
Hey Sorry i was late.

Party Hard Edition!
How does your group built the party? Do you all just make things randomly, or do you try to fill certain niches? Is there cooperation between chargen stuff? How do you avoid an all Dex party in a campaign with mostly Hammers and stuff? Why is J, H, D and B best party?

Old Thread: >>52360899
Do you refer to other's people characters by name, by class, race, or just by the player?
>>52364076
Brevoy seems like such an NPC kind of zone.
>Only place in Golarion with "realistic" medieval politics
>One of the few places with a prevailing sense of cynicism that isn't evil-aligned or actively menaced by evil
>It's feuding nobles all the way down
>There's only the bare minimum of nods to actual fantasy
>Swordlords are barely touched on
>Dragons are only defined by their conspicuous absence, as if they're extinct
It's really no wonder they spent so much time on the River Kingdoms in vanilla Kingmaker.
>>52364130
By their character's name, or by an in-universe nickname if my character doesn't know them.
Could you destroy chaos easily by invading the warp with a huge army of blanks?
>>52364054
Could you destroy a huge forest fire by driving a fire engine into it?
>>52364096
Could you Shut down a bordello by having a really fat nun walk into it?
>>52364054
Having permanent foothold in The Warp (either by conquest of Webway or building something similar of their own design) would give Imperium of Man immense advantage. But it would still take more than that to actually push Chaos back.

Still have no idea how good the angel maker perk actually is.
Still trying to perfect this.
Changelog: Slightly modified the wording for Pyramid Hat, and I... think I did some other minor change, that I can't recall? Anyway, again putting this up for review.

How can I stop caring so much about my game /tg/?
Every week, I work really hard to keep things running smoothly, and to try to run a fun session. I put my all into acting out my NPCs, and improvising off my player's actions. And in repayment for my efforts, every time I look around the table, people are on their phones, or not paying attention, or asking me to repeat qhatever I just said. One dude has started bringing his Nintendo Switch over to play BotW when "it's not his character's turn".
At first I thought that maybe I wasn't running a good enough game. Then I started to resent the players. I tried talking to them, and was assured that everything was great. But now I realize that the problem is with me. I care too much, certainly more than anyone else at the table. How do I stop?
Oh, GM feels thread I guess
>>52363609
I'm in a similar boat.
I've been considering starting a new group as it feels more and more like I'm the only one who still wants to be there.
I put a lot of my free time into it and no one appreciates it. They just treat it as a social gathering.
It'd be nice to be a player for once and have them see how much work goes into it. Its more than just showing up.
I don't have answers but I can share in your pains.
>>52363609
>its not muh turn so im not paying attention
these people don't belong in any tabletop group.
>>52363609
>GM feels thread
When your players will never understand the themes and metaphors you put into your setting, no matter how hard you try to explain them. They're otherwise very good players, but they just don't get it. I have to dumb everything down for them to understand.
After a while I just sort of stopped trying to make things complex and multi-layered, now we're playing some bullshit in Forgotten Realms and we're all having fun.
My players just bought a covered wagon to travel across the continent. They also bought some trade goods that they intend to sell to turn a profit. Aside from boring things like goblin raids and broken wagon wheels, what are some exciting Oregon Trail-esque events that I could throw at them to make their trip a bit more interesting? Thanks!

Hi. What do you think about sanity/mental health/stress/etc. systems?
Do you like horror games better with or without them?
What are some good ways of doing them mechanically and/or flavourfully?
Losing sanity reduces the spacial curvature of the playing field.
Remember, when you reach 0 sanity, you don't become a dribbling lunatic. 0 sanity 'just' represents very severe PTSD or Psychosis.
You know, the kind of stuff that would transfer you from occult field-agent to occult desk-job, at best.
I believe they're best done when hidden from the players. I know my group at least have a hard time not meta-gaming on a casual level, "Oh, he saw that because his sanity is higher, cool". But it can take a bit out of the game to keep everyone engaged and invested if you have to describe something differently to a certain player because they're either seeing things that aren't real, or are real and that's worse.
A few settings have Humanity getting it's energy needs and/or FTL travel through some horrorscape universe. How do you realistically think humanity would develop and/or view this?
As if you gave governments generators that produced near limitless energy but risked DOOM style demon incursions.
What protocols would their be and normal people view this?
>>52362562
>How do you realistically think humanity would develop and/or view this?
Realistically - mankind won't. The socio-cultural horrorscapes we keep coming up with are bad enough.
>>52362562
>use energy to fuel production consumption model
>blame terror incursions on political rivals
pmuch the same as we do now
Not to sound fedoracore, but our present automobile industry is pretty good proof that we'll gladly use a fuel source that completely fucks up our planet even when alternatives are present, just so long as it maximizes profit and you have the clout to silence naysayers.
Your proposed FTL scenario would probably be willingly accepted by entrepreneurs if siphoning hell-fuel was cheap and powerful, though probably not until the upper class had a way to combat any negatives like invading demon spawn. Even then, they'd probably try to first disregard any safety concerns by saying shit like, "Maybe they come in peace," or, "Stop being xenophobic shits and just learn to live nicely with the eldritch horrors."
What are some tropes that make you feel, anon? I'll start
>Dying person is comforted with white lies, goes peacefully while the liar keeps talking and making up stories of how he's going to be ok, even long after he's dead, just to comfort themselves.
>>52332079
> warrior is sorely outmatched/outnumbered but just keeps on getting up to fight (Bonus points if he's still effective after being gravely wounded) even if they're dying/gonna die
> especially if they're dying/gonna die
Self sacrifice such as holding open a door while everything breaks around you so your friends can get out. Long after you died the door is still held open
>>52332079
Alternative
>getting carried away from dying comrade
>I CAN SAVE HIM I CAN SAVE HIM
>I CAN
>LET GO OF ME/GET OFF ME
