I guess to answer as to where, books mostly for me. Pull bits and pieces from different ones you like, hell if you want and are sure your group hasn't read it you can slap it into the game as is but change the names and such.

Read Dungeon World's GM chapter, particularly the sections on fronts.

Allow quests to develop organically instead of writing video game quests.

Ask your players what they'd like to do in the game, as players. Write something that fits.

My party probably would. But would know perfectly it's a fey and it will cause weird shit to happen. That's why all the party got cold iron at hand at any given time.

A friend of mine ran a containment break styled game, ended up using the machine that refines things to get a sick-ass gun and a knife that heated its blade to extremely high temperatures, hot enough to slice right through concrete, steel, whathaveyou.

Game ended with a very criminal D-class escaping with an optical camo suit, as well as the gun and knife. Probably not the best ending as far as the local banks are concerned.

Also there is an organization called uh... global occult... something or other? It functions like the SCP foundation but their goal is destruction of anomalous objects, not containment/study. You should look into the various groups in the SCP canon, though be aware that some of it is really stupid.

Yes, my playgroup doesnt realize it but when I draw and play certain cards I usually retire it and replace it with a new card. They're in my gimick/jank slots and even in a "competetive" deck I have at least 5 slots devoted to hilarious jank.

Is there a fun way to play Selesnya/Naya? Sidar+Tana has piqued my interest but I can't tell if it's actually fun or not to play.

Make their special snowflake race and class mainstream parts of the setting, so they aren't special anymore and have to actually roleplay for widespread recognition.

3e is casterland. Spellcasters win combats while the other classes just stand in front of them. There's a lot of complicated rules for martial combat that simply are redundant because casters will either kill or incapacitate the enemy.

4e is much better balanced. It is basically a skirmish wargame lite with CRPG style 'powers' for each Class. Personally I prefer much more fluid, simulationist combat, and I even like theatre of the mind without minis, whereas 4e requires minis/tokens and a grid and is highly abstracted.

5e is a lot like 3e albeit somewhat more balanced and 'streamlined'.

If you go back the Little Brown Books (OD&D sans supplements), all weapons to 1d6 damage.
But LBB expected you to own CHAINMAIL and use it's to-hit rules.
And CHAINMAIL checks if attacks hit by rolling 2d6 and checking weapons against armor on pick related.

The only thing worst than trying to force the dead back to life is trying to directly manipulate the soul itself.

The dragonborn in my custom setting are the result of humans doing that and turning themselves into Dragons. However, the process of directly turning a human into a dragon is long since lost so they can only create partial dragon creatures through breeding with pure humans.

In essence, they are the dragon version of Deep Ones. And they are only tolerated because people who have attempted to copy this technique invariably created various monsters that now roam the world and have irreversably altered the ecology of the world.

Holy magic. It is seen as presumptuous and heretical that a mortal man should steal the power of heaven. Unholy magic is frowned upon, but some practitioners use it under the logic that they are in fact taking power from the underworld, and thus weakening it.

Magic that directly effects the body is "iffy". It's not particularly viewed as evil or forbidden, but people who take advantage of it are seen as stupid, crazy, or both.

Alright, so I'm going to guess this is mostly all ST fiat stuff but I might as well ask. Do the books give any advice/rules for founding a new compact?

I'm in two SR games right now. First character is a world famous Ares sponsored race car driver who runs around in a fairly pimped out Hyundai sports sedan in his personal time. Second character is a go-ganger riding around on a fully modded BMW military bike. Neither has extra armor or weapons just a ton of speed and ways of concealing themselves both visually and digitally.
