So guys, what do you think of Diplomacy?
The game, the skill or what?
If the game, No idea.
Looks good, but I've never seen a box anywhere.
>>52274960
The game, thinking about buying it :)
I think I wish I had 7 friends to play it.
Was there ever a time when your GM took you into his magical realmand you liked it?
>>52245169
i don't even get to fuck the bar wench
we're all magical girls, so yeah
>>52245169
Once
Does anyone remember the name of that rpg in development with the really disturbing looking creatures , and everyone was a zombie, it had creature taming stuff going on, and the main thing I remember is how genuinly unsettling the monsters were. I want to run a game with that.
Whatever that game is general too, I geuss.
>>52385935
Kingdom Death?
>>52385935
OK OP,
You need to explain that pic some more. In fact, make this guy's story the purpose of this thread.
>>52385935
How badly does the character you're currently playing (or the last character you played if you're not currently playing one) smell?
Remember, if you're playing in a pre-modern setting, chances are the population rarely bathed more than once a month, if that.
>>52384619
>chances are the population rarely bathed more than once a month, if that.
what are ponds and lakes
>>52384752
Cesspools if anywhere near humanity
>>52384619
>MFW the last character I played was an animated suit of armor that maintained herself on a daily basis
So why the whole "paladin falls" thing is a meme anyway? And let's distance ourselves from the whole deity for the purposes of this debate, because paladins are not champions and never were supposed to be.
Anyway, consider the following: the main two concepts of the paladin code are justice and mercy.
The thing is, you have to choose one or another, because mercy gives no justice to the victim, while justice gives no mercy to the perpetrator. I mean, it is conceptually impossible to enact justice AND mercy at the same time.
So, in essence, your average paladin has to choose which approach to apply on a case-by-case basis, in the end relying purely on his personal judgement. The orc baby dilemma, for example, is not a dilemma at all, because the answer to it is "depends on the circumstances".
I mean, falling because of a lapse in personal judgement? A dick move, but justified. Falling, because you didn't combine the two approaches that are conceptually impossible to combine? Utter fucking bullshit.
So why the fuck the whole "paladins have to be both just and merciful all the time, or otherwise they fall" is a meme?
Because Blizzard and muh Grimdark Games Workshop made it popular to have good guys go bad and turn on the paladin order and wipe them out.
See Arthas, Lorgar and Diablo 1 heroes
>>52383380
Paladins falling is older than both.
>>52383380
Hey /tg/, I need help making a new campaign (DnD 5e), players just finished Curse of Strahd and are not-so-patiently awaiting a new campaign. I need Ideas or a Genre for my next campaign
>inb4 figure it out yourself, I already have a list I would enjoy doing, but I want to expand that list.
Before I go into detail, I have to ask a question - did your party LIKE Curse of Strahd? It's bleak atmosphere, slavic names and dark fantasy feel?
Also, how did it end?
>>52383203
How about this:
The game is set during an ice age, with everything covered by ice except for oases sustained by volcanism. Instead of orcs, trolls and dragons, the players fight saberteeth, mammoths and killer plantlife.
>>52383983
Alternatively, the stereotypical “cavemen
with dinosaurs“ setting, but it's a zombie apocalypse.
how can i find new players irl who are ok people and brave enough to do battle with hideous monsters?
>>52382986
>players
>brave enough to do battle with hideous monsters
I'm intrigued, please elaborate.
>>52383353
OP's got a huge rat issue.
>>52383384
In his basement?
So as Emrakul turned out to be basically good or not outright malevolent, could she one day join the jacewatch?
>>52382774
"They were always my pieces Jace, I'm just tired of playing."
Nah, she's an otherworldly force that is far above all the bullshit the jacetice league or Nicol Bolas is into.
"Me'mrakul"
fuck Kimberly J. Kreines and fuck white people
>>52382774
The only scenario I could foresee that would justify an Eldrazi joining the Gatewatch is if Yawgmoth himself came flying out of the blind eternities while overlaying a thousand planes.

Obviously more wizard shit. Because they always need more shit.
More wizards, because *Enter spurdo wizard of the coast, not martials who can boast meme*
Question for you all.
A bunch of my coworkers want to get me to start playing D&D. Is it anywhere against the rules to make two character sheets? one fake one that I show to the party and a real one I show to the DM?

Home Cooked Meal Edition.
When was the last time your character ate a meal that wasn't magically conjured or consisted mostly or entirely of field rations? Is there someone in your party who's job it is it cook? Have you ever RPed a camp side dinner?

My current Half-elf Slayer grew up in the central trade city of the world, and she knows the cooking techniques of half a hundred cultures, as well as their languages, from serving them food. Now she makes a different meal every day to keep her crew healthy and happy.
>>52382213
It would have been the very last session, at the end of the evening, after returning from an ill-fated tomb-dive in which the witch was set ablaze by the wizard. Upon arrival at our inn suite, the witch immediately set about cleaning up, the paladin visited her while she was cleaning up to "comfort" her, and my cleric listened to the whole thing because he's got +17 perception and walls just aren't thick enough these days.
But before all the bathing and sex stuff, there was totally some falafel and hummus.

I'm going to be running a Mouse Guard game for the first time. I have read the comics (they're fantastic) and am looking for ideas and art for the game. Has anyone ran it before? What are some good tips for running the game and setting up missions?

Elric: Stormbringer.
The final part to the saga is coming up. And the dawn is crashing down.
Hear ye, hear ye. I hereby call to order this meeting of the most illustrious Mages Guild! I would like to congratulate our four major Elementalist departments on their successful decennial competition. It was an amazing show of Geomancy, Pyromancy, Hydromancy, and Aeromancy. I think I speak for all of us when I say making a floating volcano rise out of the seas and into the air was a spectacular way of ending the event.
In other related news, we have gotten a lot of complaints recently about our bigger spells destroying the local landscape. Apparently, a stray explosion spell tore apart Mount Minos and collapsed one of the richer mines in the region. Now we get these complaints all the time but this time it's giving me a headache. As such we might have to limit the amount of large-scale spells we use outside of the guild, or find a way to isolate the guild from the protesting voices of all the local leaders. Now unless the feast that's been prepared for this meeting doesn't distract us then I'm sure we can think of something.Welcome to the Mages' Guild. Pick a name and join in! Conflicts are resolved with d20s when needed, or with playing it out. When the thread dies on /tg/, we keep it going on archived.moe. Well maybe if some of us actually aimed our spells....
Maybe if you idiots showed some restraint you would never have had to hear us complain!
>>52380851
Perhaps our complaints fell on deaf ears this entire time.
There is an item in our game, a simple stick with only one property to it: it completely negates any kind of effect, action or influence that tries to affect it, either directly or not. How would you design a spell to break this stick? Any kind of wording is applicable.
Can it be carved?
But anon, if you break stick, then there are two stick.
Stick win every time.
>>52380795
> it completely negates any kind of effect, action or influence that tries to affect it, either directly or not.
ANY kind of effect?
Does gravity affect it?
If yes, you can make it collapse onto itself.
If no, congrats, anon, you've got an immovable rod.
