(2x)2 = 4x2.
But (2x)2 = (2x)(2x) = (2*x)(2*x), using the distributive property you get 4*2x*2x*x2 which is 16x4not 4x2
(2x)^^2 * wtf 4chan.

How do you fail so hard.
This is mid school algebra son.
>>8819448
2x^^2 is 2x^2x.

I love girls doing ahegao, but I can't see why it would lead to immortality
>>8819085
Planed parenthood is using the blood of human fetuses to prevent the Clintons and Soros from dying.
>>8819085
Who in the fuck authorized human blood to mingle with fucking vermin?!
this is proof that evolution is bullshit, God exists and He has a peculiar sense of humour
if you say so, retard
no, you are the proof

You better hope god doesn't exist because if he does there's no way things end up better for us
What do you guys do to keep yourself concentrated on studying?
I have weak memory, so Everytime I study for 30 min and then get bored to find myself making paperplanes or drawing fractals.
I've always had a problem in concentration, I get bored easily, even though now I'm majoring in BSc of Physics.
Music. Something without vocals. For me, the right kind of music will block everything out except for what I want to focus on. I guess it takes away just enough of my attention to not leave room for anything else but work. It also helps to keep away boredom if you have a wide enough selection of music, preferably of slightly different genres/tempos.

Does it work for you? What's your gpa?
>>8818790
If you have ADHD? Check and if so get Adderall. But if you don't and just and bad at focusing than I suppose you can watch motivation videos.
So whats up with professors taking students ideas? One of my professors joked about it in class and I want to do research but I want to profit from it. Fuck me right?
fuck you

if you're serious, you should familiarize yourself with your university's IP policy. You might get your pants sued off if you try to sell something you you developed using resources belonging to the university.
Ah hah hah.
Hah.
The odds of a random undergrad understanding anything well enough to come up with a genuinely unique idea are pretty damn slim.
99% of the time it's just some rehashed popsci crap that's popular at the moment, applied to whatever today's topic is.
so if the human brain is sending around electrical signals it is programmed in some way.
What language is it going to be encoded in once we finally figure how it works?
if x then do y?
just math?
it must have some system to figure stuff out logically, keep the body working, make decisions etc.
Anyone know about this? I cannot imagine how something can possibly be programmed without math or language in built into the programming somehow.
it's constantly changing and adapting to stimulus too
>>8818654
to argue with the picture you posted: the brain CAN remember basic math facts, it is perhaps only the case that the synaptic pathways formed in learning said basic math facts is not strong enough.
you can learn something more strongly through repetition, for example
Sparse Distributed Representations
Is it possible for a single man to master all science? And if so, what happens next?
define "master"
>>8818650
No. I like to think academics are comparable to sports. If science is mma then you physically couldn't master all of it because there are different weight classes. You couldn't be a heavyweight and a welterweight at the same time.
Knowledge of the universe is practically infinite. You will never "master" it.
I am literally the stupidest person browsing this board regularly..
I don't even know how a negative plus negative becomes a positive. No clue how to multiply and divide fractions, hardly know how to multiply and subtract them.
I lost at elementary school and it's biting me in the ass, studying to become an electronics-technician. With dreams of going for electronics engineering after.
But I am so shit at math it's painful and tears at my fragile soul. Isolating a variable is way out of my reach.. But something I need to learn.
The math books in the wiki are way above my level, and I honestly would gain nothing from reading them at my current level.
Does /sci/ have a book for dumb retards such as myself?
>>8818473
a negative plus a negative is still a negative:
-3 + -5 = -8
a negative times a negative becomes positive:
-3 x -5 = 15
to multiply fractions, just multiply across:
3 1 3
--- x --- = ---
5 3 15
>>8818473
> a negative plus negative becomes a positive.
It doesn't
A negative multiplied by a negative becomes a positive though
To be honest this stuff is so basic that I think you're beyond help
>>8818473
>Does /sci/ have a book
Maybe you should try out watching videos instead? Khan Academy is perfect for brainlets.
An ugly hag accosts you on the street and says to you, "I have two children. At least one of them is a boy."
What is the probability that her other child is a boy as well?
>>8817810
Not enough information.
>>8817810
25%
50% obviously.
How to find the equivalent resistance of this? I'm so confused. Aren't all four resistors in series?
No current flows through the 4ohm and 5ohm resistors
>>8817793
The question is asking equivalent resistance from a to b, so yes the 4 and 5 are relevant
what are the characteristics of a brainlet
Only a brainlet would ask this question
the classical brainlet walk
>>8817727
explain it to my small mind
Is Common Core the better system, /sci/?
>>8817717
We've had this argument a hundred thousand times and for the last time the answer is YES. Now go away and STAY away.

you should read The High Frontier OP, its a pretty in depth look at how a current (in the 1970's) technology space colonization effort would go, written by a respected physicist who got a NASA grant to research the same issue. If you liked this it'd be right up you're alley.

Hi, physics and mathematics double honours here.
So, I have really bad IBS, but have to drink coffee to keep working throughout the day.
So, in short, I was forced to use the latrine, however it had been recently cleaned and my faecal matter is quite dense. Anyway, I ended up getting splashback including the bleach in the toilet (which may have entered my anus).
Will I be fine?
>>8817009
>mfw european toilets have a plateau pool before the drain hole so you can inspect your poo and avoid splashback
