Which Ivy League? Usually interviewers care if it's a well-known one.

>unnecessary tuition for a name
school name matters.
enjoy going to a BK randy university and getting your resume trash manned by HR.
Is it theoretically possible to transplant a brain hemisphere?
What would happen and could you give someone two left brain hemispheres and someone two right brain hemispheres?
Who's consciousness would it be?
>Is it theoretically possible to transplant a brain hemisphere?
I'm no neuroscientist but I imagine (along with the many obvious practical challenges) a big obstacle would be to find a way for these hemispheres to link up harmoniously. The hemispheres grow together in constant communication; they MAY be an inseperable whole.
But obviously given infinite power and knowledge you could do anything.
>What would happen and could you give someone two left brain hemispheres and someone two right brain hemispheres?
They would die. The brain isn't entirely symmetrical in the way it maintains life-sustaining processes.
But again, assuming infinite power and knowledge, you could have two right hemispheres and just add in the missing parts and see what happens. Probably depressingly bad cognitive dissonance.
>Who's consciousness would it be?
Consciousness doesn't belong to a magical 'self.' Assuming it actually worked, it would just be *a* consciousness.
>>8816746
I'd guess you'd have conflict over both hemispheres
With a lot of assumptions I'd say if you gave it to a young child it would probably turn out fine.
Also your pic is a meme.
What is the science behind depression?
>>8816729
You feel sad
>>8816729
The brain is an extremely complex device. It is easy to have an imbalance of neurotransmitters. This causes chemcial depression.

"A strong addictive substance with least side effect."
I mean coke and smack are very strong but very taxing to the body.
Just go with heroine. It's usually used in stories because it's the most highly addictive of the easily available drugs
>>8816513
Yeah, but what's the most ideal drug for such purpose .
>>8816510
>coke

Ha!
Let's say you can bioaugment mankind through gene therapy and stem cell therapy. How would you alter a human?
>>8816469
Darker skin to prevent skin cancer. Smaller size to save resources. Lower sex drive. Higher intellect. Lower neuroticism tendencies. Less violence. Less craving for meat.
>>8816469
Obviously make A CATGIRL RACE where they can have intelligence just like humans, but they got the ears, tail and the submissiveness of a cat.
They could be brats when you get with them but just be nice to them and you're set.
Also there would be death punishment if some fag beats the shit of a catgirl obviously.
>>8816470
>Lower sex drive
Why? It is barely high enough as it is.
what is time?
>>8816013
Where things are. And then where they are again.
>>8816013
same thing as length, width, and height
>>8816013
Time is the collection of all possible states that the Universe can be in.
Well /sci/? This is pre undergrad organic chemistry, don't let me down

Brands:
Volkswagen
McDonald's
Lacoste
Apple
Nike
Compounds:
Volkswagenium
McDonaldium
Lacostium
Facebookium
Applium
Nikeum
I got them right? I didn't know that these brands had compounds named after them but I guess it makes sense when in organic chemistry you just add an extra carbon and you've invented a whole new compound.
>>8815825
There are no brands on that image. Just brand logos.

Can you amerifags explain to me why you've moved your schools to common core? I'm from South Korea and have looked at common core math problems and couldn't believe how complex all these common core problem-solving "strategies" are. Absolute madness. What takes us only a handful of steps in ROK, that can be done in your head, takes dozen steps in common core math. Absolute madness.
Why are americans doing this?
>>8815723
Singapore does it that way
>>8815723
There is no such thing as "common core math problems" dumb gook.

But it's good for my resume guys... r-right?
I know you're trolling, but lmao @ people actually accepting unpaid internships.
>>8815461
How can you accept an unpaid internship in engineering? I could understand biology or chemistry or something, but engineering? You shouldn't ever accept anything that isn't at least $15/hr, or $20 if you're not in the middle of nowhere.
AHAHAHAHA
There are studies that show that unpaid internships dont even increase your job chancse compared to no internships so LMAOING@URLIFE
How many of you use math stack exchange? Is it just me who thinks that the cunts on there are so uptight, they downvote fucking everything.

that's stackexchange today in a nutshell
it's become a massive circlejerk and everything is off topic or duplicate (even if it isn't)
still a good info source often times, but they're gonna die off because they don't get many new users. the barrier to do anything in the site is too high
Red pill me on lucid dreams. Are lucid dreams a meme or can I actually have the experience of dream whatever I want to?
What is the most efficient way to achieve lucid dreams?
I want to do a lot of things with the power of lucid dream, like asking myself deep questions or fucking the girl of my dreams. Help me, /sci/.
You have to be very healthy and live stress free first, any distractions from routine sleeping will reduce the amount of time you can lucid dream. It's as simple as awakening your real life ego while still dreaming, therefore applying the real reference to your self imposed sensory input. This is why lucid dreams are rendered in the same part of the brain as real life memories.
This is also why nightmares are rendered with real life memories. The dream is so scary, you awaken your real life defence mechanisms to try and creat escape in your dream reality, becoming lucid.
More later.
I lucid dream fairly often. What I did was get into the habit of double checking clocks whenever I look at them. Once you get into a strong habit of this and do it without thinking, you'll be doing it in your dreams as well.
Writing, numbers, and clocks always change every time you look at them in dreams, so you'll notice the difference on the second look and (hopefully) realise you're actually in a dream.
>>8814170
It's like this for a lot of fine details. You can start to tell that something's "not right" here, then move that onto instantly telling when your trying to trick yourself into thinking you're awake.
Shit really opens you up to your subconscious, and you realize you are two sister beings trying to help each other survive. It can argue with you, or run and hide and try to preserve it's silent overlooking. Therapists and psychologists do not want lucid dreaming to be unprofessionally experimented on, because the subconscious is a fragile hopeful and little thing. Once it realises it's only a small portion of your overall physical body, it starts making all kinds of excuses to make life fun for itself again. It -WAS- your invisible best friend.

i just found out that Einstein actually knew about Isaac Newton
i honestly didn't think the 20th century physicists knew about Newton, i thought his fame came much later

>>8817474

Einstein was overrated (I really mean it. Brainlets won't know what I mean)
Let's talk about how relativity will inevitably be superseded by quantum gravity.
sin(x)^2+cos(x)^2=C
How do i solve for x?
>>8817137
x can literally be anything because C is always 1.
>how do i solve the idiot formula
Define a function $f(x)=\sin^2(x)+\cos^2(x)$ and take the derivative. Turns out that the derivative is zero, which means that the function is constant. Taking an arbitary $x$ solves the "equation" for $C$. Another approach would be to not be a brainlet and apply the popular formula...
Is calculus I taught in high school or at university in the US?
High-school math can go up to multivariable and LA
>>8816780
In my high school it was optional to either stop at basic algebra or go up to integral calculus of one variable
>>8816780
I know Texas will be teaching calculus in highschool pretty soon. Not sure about the other degenerates, though. They also won't be offering remedial maths to save money.
