Well for one the moon looks absolutely fake. It's almost CGI tier. Also the suns position according to this picture is right behind whatever camera took this and yet the moon looks completely dull but when I see a full moon from earth in a big city I may add the moon looks very bright.

i really like the real life superhero discussion around here so let's have ourselves one now about spider-man.

any biology expert should chip in to work out some problems. first of all there are the obvious ones, a human would have a hard time lifting 20 tons, sticking to walls and predicting the future but we should be able to engineer something that's close enough to spidey.

i am thinking of something along the lines of using gorilla dna to make the man strong and durable, some cat ( or any other sensitive animal, birds work too i guess )genes in the nerve cells for the extra sensory power and that really should do it. maybe some cheetah for a higher percentage of fast twitch muscle fibers. now i don't think this is possible after the subject is born, but an embryo should be pretty fucking receptive to these kind of changes. i might be wrong tho so feel free to correct any bullshit i might have said

nigga all you gotta do is get bitten by a radioactive spider, did you even watch the movies?
>>
>>9113207
ye, i was thinking maybe we would want to complicate things since spiders are pussies who die of radiation poisoning

making a strong dude who sees and hears well is rather easy depending on how much retard strength you want for your super soldier, the hard part is the webshooting.

How do you prove the Church Turing Thesis?

It's not really a thesis, it's more like an axiom. Just like "magic isn't real" is an implicit axiom in most of science.

Hi! I would like to show you how you can help the SETI Institute find extraterrestrial intelligence:

The only real signals that could reach us would be from Type 2 civilizations since getting a signal through that amount of distance will require the power of a star. Otherwise, all you'd get, if you got anything would be random noise that you couldn't even tell was any sort of signal in the first place.

I'm betting that pulsars are just hubs for the intergalactic internet.

I'm not exactly sure what to do here /sci/ my girlfriend of almost 5 years believes the earth is flat. now, this has been going on for awhile, and sometimes ill chime in to try and correct it, but she responds how people usually do that believe in things like this (the typical denial of facts, no evidence to contribute to their belief whatsoever, flailing and screaming, breaking things) so ill just drop it and leave it. But today it's gotten to a point where it's just so out of hand. I saw her post some flat earth meme on facebook, and somebody commented telling her the information was wrong, and tried to correct this behavior, and she essentially told the man "I hear what you're saying, but im still right" I mean he took her whole model and shattered it and all she could say was "i know what i know" pretty much. It just pushed me over the edge. So all day i've been telling her every single piece of evidence I can think of to demonstrate the earth is not flat. I've broken down every single argument she tries to throw at me (which there aren't really, she just claims that she knows these "facts" and theres all this "proof" but wont show me any. the second she tries to show me any kind of evidence that she thinks is "proof of the flat earth" i will dismantle it and show her exactly why its wrong and why it doesn't work. I mean like guys, I've covered gravity, the constellations, the horizon. Like the only more proof she could get would be for someone to fire her dumbass in a rocket out to space so she can see the earth. So at this point, i'm confused as to whether i'm actually trying to convince my girlfriend the earth is a sphere, or if by this point she now knows it couldn't and just wants to be right so she's doing the ostrich effect? I mean, guys, I don't hang out with people that smoke crack, I can't spend my life with someone that can't do elementary experiments to see that the earth is round. I'm at a loss. Anything helps.

Flat Earth threads are cancerous, even if you try and sneak them in the back door.

Google "flat Earth debunked" if you seriously don't know how to demonstrate the Earth is flat.

Still, cancerous thread, saged for chemo.

its not bate, im genuinely asking for help. I've been trying to show how the earth is not flat, read my post. What im asking, is maybe there is someone that is 22 years old who tried to master in psychology, that might be able to scientifically break it down to an absolute core shattering shit. Like some Neil Tyson ELI5 shit. I've already been through pleb youtube and google shit. I didn't even have to use google to come up with most of the methods I found on there.

What type of tree is this? I have seen several different landscape painters depict it so I don't think it's simply artistic license

I think it's the faggotry.

Could be any of several hardwoods.

If I had to guess, it looks like trees that grew up with other trees tight around them, so they are tall and skinny, then something (fire, disease, avalanche, logging) took out the forest and left these guys, that are now filling in foliage lower on the trunk now that sunlight reaches that area.

Why does the euler-mascheroni constant show up here?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>9112857
Your sum, if taken to infinity, is x/(1+x^2)^2.

critical points at +/- 1/sqt(3)

Not the euler constant.

It is 3sqrt(3)/16
>>
>>9113022
the euler-mascheroni constant is 1/sqt(3) (to within error)

how are they calculating moisture loss

they didn't teach me this in chemistry

two assumptions:
>the two chicken breasts have the same initial density
>only water is lost through the cooking process

Both assumptions are wrong. Which is why you didn't learn it in chemistry. But it's cooking, so absolute precision probably isnt the priority.
