Why is there so much interest in terraforming mars but comparitively little on utilising the same Earth sciences to geoengineer the Earth?

Why did we let the writers get a hold of Philosophy? So many of the worlds and societies issues could be resolved through philosophy and the spread of knowledge and ideas. Instead its this masturbation tool by psueds, it was the root of knowledge at one point. Now its just an edgy husk of itself with neither any concern for ethics or the betterment of self or mankind.
Philosophy in academia is a circle jerk
Philosophy outside of it is just rationalization and non-sense that wants nothing to do with Math or the Sciences.
And in both cases is mostly just roleplay.
Why did we let Philosophy become so useless? To clarify I'm not saying that it is, I'm asking why are we letting it be useless.

What if I told you people of a religious bent have been hanging out in alternate universes that are non imaginary and are physically visitable this entire time?
>>9125822
You can visit them in your dreams, by dying, or via sufficiently advanced LARPing

1450 (old SAT pre-1994, new ones after 1994 are shit and barely g-loaded) and composite IQ score of 132 from WAIS-IV

>skip calc 3
>take differentials
>didnt take linear algebra since i dont need it to graduate
>going to take calc 3 next semester
How fucked am I this semester and next semester
Most intro to differential equations courses don't use 3D calculus at all.
Linear algebra does make Calc 3 a little easier, but not as much as you'd think.
You'll be fine.
What the fuck are you taking this semester then? Gendet studies?
linear algebra is far from necessary to pass calc 3
Can somebody without blabbing all the physics this/alternate reality that talk. Just tell me straight up.

What are some books that explore mathematics before set theory?
Why no answers?!
pls respond
Bump. What you might be looking for is something called "logic". The study of logic, however, may not suit your mathematical tastes. Perhaps you mean constructive mathematics? Constructivists argue that math is subjective, and that there are many different ways one can construct mathematical objects. Set theory (and everything else for that matter) being one such example. (This is my unfamiliar opinion)
Is law a science?
No.
What is "science"?
>>9124658
Law is prescriptive rather than descriptive, therefore no, it is not a science.
Why don't we just take the CO2 out of the atmosphere and lock it away somewhere?
what are trees?
>>9124520
Only young forests help.
Old forests are very inactive, so covering the Earth in trees will only make a difference while they're young and growing.
>>9124528
I see, you could always just chop em down use the wood then replant them no? seems more viable than an industrial solution.

Did any of you use a textbook for calculus 1? I'm not sure if it's necessary.
>>9123585
no bully, just get the PDF mate, almost all books are accessible online regardless of legality, haven't bought a single book my entire undergrad career.
Yes. I was shit at math. I had some low tier calc textbook that covered calc 1-3. I did at least 10 problems every day. Even if its a low tier, as long as you have a decent professor and a lot of practice problems, the physical textbook will be worth having. Well, it was worth it to me.
>>9123585
How can you learn it? Through osmosis?
Get a book.
