I'm thinking night shots? Kinda like pic related.
Also interested to see what you come up with. Either way, if we can work something out, I'll credit you for the photo! And you can be famous. Posting one of the songs now.

Don't bother, faggot.
i'm new to film scanning and I have a quick question. I dont have a dedicated film scanner so I'm just using this cheap canon scanner using a diffuser as a backlight.
I'm curious as to why the film im scanning is color but when scanned it looks black and white? picture related
is my scanner just not capable of picking up color on the negative? or am i missing something here?

I always wondered how to scan film properly without one of those Epson V600s BC poorfag
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO4X6vAtIxU
some canon multi purpose print scanners etc, have a hidden slide/film scanning thing in the lid. vid related. shame I recently threw mine away before making that discovery.
So no on as any explaination as to why my color negatives are coming out black and white?
Has Pentax finally dropped out of the camera making business?
The K3 mark iii was supposed to be coming out in 2016. It didn't. Then it was supposed to be coming out early 2017. It didn't. Now, we're nearing the end of 2017 and there's still no word on it.
Seems to me like they've given up.
Feel free to prove me wrong, but until then press F to pay your respects. You will be missed, Pentax.

i don't think they promised anything on k-3 ii successor, other than "it's coming"
KP was the camera released early 2017
Do you think creativity can be learned?
I look at my photographs and they are all terrible emulations of famous photographers work. I don't have any creative ideas myself and when I think of what photographs I want to take it's what I saw someone else do and liked it.
>>3147183
It has to be nurtured and honed. It takes a lot of work and you have to stick at it
No it cant be learned. You cant learn to be taller, you cant learn to have a smaller skull. Creative people have been creative from their very early years, their whole life gravitates around that way of being, you cant fake that shit when youre a dull mid 20er.
But you can learn to find your own voice. Which you might not like, but at least, will be your own.
>>3147183
Creativity is like a muscle, you need to exercise it
So /p/, I bought pic related as my first (digital) camera... How much did I fuck up?
you haven't fucked up, just take photos
Great camera although I found it a bit bulky and the viewfinder a bit small. I found myself mashing my eye right up to it unlike my M9 and X100F.

Hi there,
I've been using a Canon 100D as my first ever dslr and been getting into photography for about a year now. I am interested in purchasing a new camera to take greater quality photos and trying something new. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I've also attached a photo I took recently, would be keen to hear your thoughts also
Much love /p/ <3

What lenses have you got? I'm a wedding photographer and use a pair of Canon 100Ds. Great little things, even more so with some decent lenses.
>>3146651
you don't need a new camera
>>3146651
Id sell you camera and call it a day. That picture is awful in so many ways.
No interesting composition
No details in the foreground
No detail in the sky except heavily sauturation colour editing
And not sure if its a landscape or cityscape
IF I COULD GIVE IT -100 OUT OF 10 I WOULD.
If you was jnto photography you wouodnt need to be here asking what camera you need.
Kthxbye
Hey, I'm about to build an RC car and I want to get a decent action cam that can link to a laptop/ smartphone so I can record some 1st person camera shots and view it while driving. What's good for a decent price?

Activeon CX should do the trick. They have an ok phone app.
This guy is normally a video game youtuber but recently made a short video on his experience with capturing long forgotten family film. He shares all the photos at the end.

You chose wisely.
Off-camera lighting is a meme.

I have a soft box
So I know most of us like to take our 50mp shots and save the raw somewhere never to be seen again after we post the .jpg to instagram at 500×500. But have you got any of your shots printed on display anywhere?
Who did the prints, what material?
Is it weird to have your own shots printed and hanging in your place? Is that arrogant or something? Seems odd to me but I'm thinking of getting a few printed through LALALAB, RGB Digital or Nushots.
Waiting in samples from each first.

I print them myself at home. I have maybe 4-5 prints hung up in my own home (plus a couple smaller ones), but gonna do more once I move to a bigger apartment.
Pretty much just used standard Canon paper for most, except for two I did on Japanese washi paper.
Photojournalism Thread?
Im updating some pics I took at a protest here in Argentina, I'm looking to improve my photos. So I'm looking for criticism and Ideas on how to represent subjects at political protest and such. Whats Interesting and what not.
I wasn't pay for this shots I've only took them for practice.
Reason of protest was the alleged kidnapping, torture and disappearance of Santiago Maldonado, casual activist of natives rights, by the police.

Usually nobody gives a flying shit about police baiting on natives. But the guy was white and that created a National shit storm.

How does someone get into conflict photography?
>inb4 "just go there"
I mean how do they get payed for their work, what makes it valuable or of importance? Can I get into it as someone who isn't a professional photographer? Is it as simple as you just get a plane ticket? This field just interests me.
The better question is: WHY does someone get into conflict photography?
short answer is you don't
long answer is that you can try to get embedded with a military as a freelance journalist, most western militaries will have an application process. you will also probably have to agree to show them everything you shoot to be approved before pitching it to a newsgroup. to get out there and do the real shit like from the 70s and 80s, you just go out there and try not to get killed, you dont see a lot of this anymore because everyone who does it gets killed.
I'm in the military and even I struggle to get photos approved for public release.
Anyone in the world can google what comms equipment we use but a an out of focus one pops up in the background of a great shot and it's marked for no public release.
Admittedly, it may actually be easier for you to take those shots and get away with it asks civilian.
What makes a shot valuable or important? The same thing that makes any other shot valuable or important. Tells the story and captures the scene.
How do you get paid. By having valuable and important shots.
The Australian Army has a Public Affairs section with enough photographers to cover the main conflicts people care about as well as all the ceremonial bullshit. I assume other countries have the same and they'll likely get there better opportunities for great shots. Very Competitive to get into though.
As someone else said, just go to a conflict zone and try to survive long enough to post your shit online.
