Photojournalism Thread?
Im updating some pics I took at a protest here in Argentina, I'm looking to improve my photos. So I'm looking for criticism and Ideas on how to represent subjects at political protest and such. Whats Interesting and what not.
I wasn't pay for this shots I've only took them for practice.
Reason of protest was the alleged kidnapping, torture and disappearance of Santiago Maldonado, casual activist of natives rights, by the police.

Usually nobody gives a flying shit about police baiting on natives. But the guy was white and that created a National shit storm.

everyone seems pretty happy about the whole thing. Is that what you want people to see?
I get that you're a neutral observer but you also have to deliver a consistent narrative

Some friends fooling around.

Thats it for now. I comback in the morning and see wats up

yes I was asked to take some of those photos. I see what you mean.

I don't speak Spanish or Purchase or whatever language people of Argentina speak but I should really know some of the story without knowing the language.
For example, this woman looks too happy, as if she's just out for a nice walk and happens to be carrying a giant flag.
Get closer. It's a human, emotional event, so get close enough that we can see the emotions of upset people.

If she was in focus, a portrait crop on the woman knows the centre would have been nice. The girl smiling for the camera on the right kills the shot because she also looks like she's having a fun day out.
>>3145673
No context, subject is looking away with nothing visible to tell me what's happening and why there's a photo of her.
>>3145674
Too happy.
>>3145676
Nod bad. I don't know whether the signs of those buildings are related to this but if they are, it's a good shot. If they're not, you need a subject.
>>3145679
Good shot. Sadness/frustration visible, a clear message.
>>3145681
Nothing
>>3145685
I might be missing the point. If this is a protest calling for peace, this is a nice shot. I thought it was an angry mob. If so, the emotions are conflicting with the story.
>>3145686
Not bad. I'd have had him in focu rather than the women.
>>3145688
Out of focus but still not bad
>>3145689
Pretty good. Seems like the focus is a little off but tells the story better than most of these.
>>3145690
Technically not bad. I assume it's sending the message but I can't read it.
>>3145696
>>3145699
Fine shots but unrelated.
Basically for this, it's about telling the story. Maybe 5 shots needed. What would a newspaper show?
Before going out, I'd have worked out what shots I need. I would go out and aim to get these shots of a protest:
>wide shot - showing the size of the crowd
>close shots - upset people with signs/flags (with emotions that match the story)
Medium shot - the speech with supporters and posters behind.
Medium shot - the protestors interacting with police/locals.

>this woman looks too happy, as if she's just out for a nice walk and happens to be carrying a giant flag.
Thats literally what all modern """protests""" are: An unharming social event where liberal women go to virtue signal whatever flavor of the month cause there is. Its going to the shopping mall for "woke" libs. No amount of 'git close' will fix that, they are non-events already coopted as fuck by the goverments on a global scale.
Also that argie cuck that dissapeared looked like charles manson.

Go eat a choripan you argie fuck
Damn, this thread is horrid. Stop doing that for god's sake
La otra vez estaba planeando ir a una marcha con el mismo motivo pero me daba asco estar cerca de mogólicos peronistas, asi que no fuí.
Btw, la mayoria de las fotos son una mierda anon.
