Diesel mechanic student here! Where are my diesel heads at??
I love when idiots who "roll coal" get fined by cops so bad that they miss a payment on their trailers and beat their cousin-wife.
>>17355757
>mfw I report the license plate of a diesel owner for reckless driving to the police and he gets pulled over by highway patrol
It makes driving long boring hours on the highway more enjoyable.
>>17354674
Did someone say diesel?
In memory of Adam West can we have a batmobile thread?
Other bat-vehicles welcome.
>>17354656
This is a patrician batmobile. Gotta love that straightpiped goodness.
>>17354656
[s]I dont have any :( [/s]
>>17354603
Gonna be a short thread OP.
Most people here don't have access to garages, let alone own them
i thought so most people on here probably dont even own a car yet.
>>17354767
I was lurking just in case, but yeah I figured too.
So I gotta start looking for a new car
Ive heard some good things about the outback, but im pretty sure ive seen /o/ shit on them before.
Are subarus meme cars? Are they as reliable as people say they are?

Read the fucking sticky
From my understanding about the Ford GT40, it was made out of spite from Ferrari refusing to get bought out by Ford, due to financial reasons, because Ford would have control over when they could compete and the reason why they were having financial trouble was Ferrari kept building cars to beat the Corvette, which was known as the most powerful car during that time.
So, in other words, the GT40 was an indirect consequence caused by GM.
and what an indirect consequence it was, what a beauty
>Ferrari kept building cars to beat the Corvette
>>17354575
>corvette
>relevant outside US

Hey niggers,
I found a 1995 BMW E36 320i six cylinder and I want to track it. It costs 400$ because its declared as immobilized. Should I get it? Its manual
V8 better, bigger diff, bigger guibo. More power.
But sure, buy it. Can't go wrong for $400

Wish I could find one m8
Well, /o/tists, Yesterday, we lost one of the big guns of the aftermarket industry.
Vic Edelbrock Jr. died last night from respiratory complications.
Just thought the rest of you should know. I'm gonna go peruse the company catalog again and have a memorial beer for one of the guys who helped to make engine modification as easy as it is today.
>makes parts that improve how an engine breathes
>dies from respiratory complication
>>17354129
The irony is not lost on me. But dude DID serve as president of SEMA in the early 70's, and also talked to legislators to help keep the aftermarket industry alive and legal, if it helps to understand the impact here.
And this guy kept his manufacturing inconus. Made in USA
Explain to me why buying a 2017 Elantra Sport is a bad idea.
I've been driving my Sonata for 10 years and want something newer. Before I was looking at the Mazda 3 and the new Civic Hatch. I hate the CVT and the shitty head unit in the Civic that lacks physical buttons for the radio and HVAC controls. The Mazda is in serious need of a refresh and I dislike the louder cabin and worse head unit.
The new Elantra Sport is cheaper than both. It has a multilink rear suspension. It's quieter than the Civic and Mazda and comes with a 7 speed dual clutch. It's HUGE inside and has a better infotainment system. It has the same 1.6L turbo out of the Veloster.
I can pick then up for thousands less than MSRP and they have a longer warranty and theres a hatchback version coming out in a few months and I want a hatch.
Why SHOULDN'T I just get a new Elantra Sport hatch rather than a Civic or 3? It seems obvious since they're seemingly just as good if not better and are ridiculously cheap.
Just get whatever gives you the most bang for the buck (probably the Hyundai). I wouldn't keep it for too long though, The resale on them isn't amazing.
>>17354089
>pros
10yr/100k warranty
cheap
luxo-bloat that you seem to like
>cons
1.6L may be a bit lacking
turbo means more stringent maintenance schedule
depreciation
I would still get the Civic.
Shopping for a lip splitter to go on my Audi.
Anyone know what brand this is?

Maxton Designs

what audi do you have?
>inb4 a3
>>17354213
just an audi s7
Is Ford the only automaker that sells performance parts which don't cancel your warranty? Or is this common?
>>17354023
That's a trim though, not aftermarket.
>>17354034
Actually, Dodge offers "scat pack performance" stage kits for the 5.7 L Hemi V8 which go all the way from stage 1 to stage 3. Going through will all the stage kits gets you from 375 hp/400 lb-ft to 450 hp/454 lb-ft
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/dodge/challenger/2015/2015-dodge-challenger-mopar-scat-pack-3-first-drive-review/
>"Proper installation of these kits preserves the original warranty"
Additionally, Dodge offers a few suspension upgrades (coilovers, sway bars, strut tower braces, etc) as well as exhausts and intakes too.
But i still do think Ford has a much better selection of performance parts for its mustang ecoboost and GT.
Looking at getting an aftermarket radio because the current one in my jeep is basic as fuck. Anyone know of any setups with navigation?
Cherokee a single DIN, isn't it?
>>17353931
Not sure but it shouldn't be hard to switch from single to double.
>navigation
Use your phone. Like, seriously. Nav systems, even dedicated ones like Garmin/TomTom/Magellan suck compared to Google Maps and/or Waze. And head unit nav systems are just terrible, every last one of them.
The only one I ever saw that was even passable was some shitty Chinesum HU that ran Android, and because of that, you could install iGo software. But even that wasn't good.
Want a half decent HU for your truck? Get a Pioneer DEH-80PRS. That's pretty much the only new sub-$300 deck that's worth a fuck. Even new Alpines, and this pains me to say, because I'm a massive Alpine fan-boy, are pretty shit at that price point.
Alright dieselbros, I need your assistance. Looking to buy either a 6.7 Ford Powerstroke from 11-14 OR a 6.6 Duramax from 08-14. If you have either of these engines in your truck, please comment and tell me your thoughts. I know the 6.7 PSD is fairly reliable, but I'm new to learning about the Duramax. Which one of these engines will be more reliable and treat me better as a daily driver? I will use it occasionally to tow a gooseneck horse trailer, but not too often.
Thank you!
Don't go with a '11 6.7, first year and they had the typical teething issues. 12+ are solid as hell. Can't help you with the duramax. We recently deleted and tuned my bosses '12 6.7, and it is an absolute monster, although in my opinion they make more than enough power stock.
Bump for knowledge
cummins or nothin
Why should I buy a new car when I could go on craigslist and literally by 20-30 GM J-bodies for the same price and just drive them to death and fuck them up, probably would be more fun anyway.
>>17353508
>J-body
>fun
I've never driven something as numbing and gutless since the Saturn L200. at least the suspension on that was ok.
You sound like your 16. At some point in your life you'll want to drive something nice instead of multiple shitboxes.
>>17353528
It's the being able to thrash on it relentlessly that would be the fun part
>You must stay at Level One for a minumum of 60 days from the day you obtained your M1 licence, after which you may attempt the Level One road test.
