It's nice but I'd get an '81
If you have a secondary car, I say go for it. Be prepared for this beast to blow hoses a lot though.
>>17672639
Only if you have the time, ability and funds necessary to maintain a 45 year old car. Check the car meticulously. For that price, with that many original parts, it's likely going to need a lot of TLC

And he did damn well. Its not for my taste, by I know a few people that have pretty huge boners over this thing. It will do well in the fucking huge American SUV market.
What if edition.

Has anyone done a build by build update here?
I think that'd be interesting to see what people are currently working on with their cars, just a thought
>>17672398
I'm gettin a big brake setup going for my falcon.
I bought some 73 mustang spindles for the bigger bearings, scrounged up some old wheel hubs and Sierra 4 piston calipers, and have new rotors and bearings in the mail right now. Once everything is in one place I can fab some caliper mounts and buy the brake lines and fittings.
Will probably be getting a higher capacity master cylinder too.
>>17672398
I fixed some rust issues on my subframe,
>>17673944
repaired my ignition system, repainted some parts, bended the footrests back to original position and added gearbox oil.
I still need to fix the leak...

How much oil should i pit on a 3.8 liters holden, the one in the commodore

What ever the manual says.
>>17672188
Thanks mate, cheers
do you feel btfo by the fact that rx8s do not have turbos?
>>17671884
No because I dislike turbos.
Are you implying 250hp is impressive?
I'm about to pull the trigger on a clean RHD RX7 in Canada where I'll probably only drive it 4-5 months of the year realistically.
Please redpill me on this guys.
>>17671816
Can you do the rotary maintenance? If you can go for it my dude. But it's not a cheap car to own.
>>17671816
Do lots of research into the rotary and how to properly care for it before diving into it.
>>17671816
put 250ml of 2 stoke oil in for every 25l of gas.
change oil when u take it out for the spring and midway thru summer.
expect to sweat, heat pours into cabin
no cup holders
eats gas
get a boost guage. if its in good shape it will hit 10psi then flash to 8 when 2nd turbo kicks in then up to 10 again.
change spark plugs asap and do a compression test while they're in there
prepare to dump money. its one thing to own one, its another to be able to maintain it.
enjoy the sound of boosted rotary @9k rpm. its like a 1000 bee hives under the hood.

thats still shitty what he did to you though. "Hey i have someone interested working out the money situation but if it falls through i will let you know." is all it wouldve taken.
Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
You should have at least put a deposit on it if it was that good of a deal. Most sellers are happy to wait a couple of weeks as long as they have a committed buyer

I'm an elitist classic car guy, and even I think that's a sexy car.
It's a blessing in disguise, though. Save your money, it's nice to have a safety net.
just bought an FC, havin loads of fun with it.
1 think though, its a straight exhaust, so no catalytic converter. I've been feeling pretty dizzy since i started driving it, and I was wondering if that had anything to do with the lack of a cat, because some exhaust smells coming in to the cabin when the windows are down.
is this the latest meme or something

Filled up my gas at some shady gas station last night, and now my car is sputtering and the check engine light came on. I'm suspecting its water/bad gas. What's the easiest/cheapest way to fix this? Keep in mind I currently have a full tank. Do I just siphon everything out and start fresh or is there something I can put in the tank to clean the water out?
>>17671352
If you're so concerned, drain and refill. Siphoning it out will also work Better to do that now than suffer engine failure. Don't be an asshole and dispose it down the drain; Autozone and the like will dispose of it for you.
Alternatively, try fuel additives (e.g. HEET) and see if that helps. If the water's not too much, that may be good enough.
I hope you learned your lesson.
>>17671366
What kinda lesson was he supposed to learn?
>>17671352
You can add anhydrous ethanol, acetone, or anything in large quantities to make the water burn away if it's in small quantities. Wouldn't risk it, though.
>>17671388
>What kinda lesson was he supposed to learn?
Never fuel up at a shady station you don't know. They probably have a new credit card in his name as well as giving him bad gas.
whats the comfiest winter cruiser?
>winter
NOT SO FAST
anything awd
>>17671078
A 4x4 truck with at least one locker and some good winter tires. Awd has shit on 4x4 during winter.
I saw a car I couldn't identify a few days ago.
I only saw the front end, it looked like a GT40 that was even shorter than 40 inches.
The tail more than likely didn't look like a GT40, but the head lights did. The car looked almost goofy with its squished looking proportions.
I imagine it was a kit car, just seeing if anyone has an idea.
Did it look like this?
>>17671065
Was it America or yurop
>>17671074
Very possibly, what's that called so I can get some more photos?
