hello, /o/

I have a 2002 ford explorer and when i drive for more than 20min, my od light flashes and i get a "transmission overheated" warning.

i installed a auxiliary oil cooler and checked to see if the factory one was clogged and it wasn't.
after driving for 20min the od light started flashing and i got the same message.

how do i fix this?

2002
ford explorer
4.0L v6

thanks guys

Auto transmissions normally have filters. Those could be clogged too.

I assume that since you changed the cooler you checked the levels and the colour of the fluid too?
>>
>>17770295
yup, i replaced the fluid 2 weeks ago to see if that was the issue and it didn't do anything.

i touched the hoses and one is extremely hot but the other is cool to the touch so i am assuming that it's working.

Check to see if you're parking brake is on.

Just got a 1999 Corolla, everything's stock on it .
got like 125k miles .
I'm still pretty fresh into the aut/o/ scene and can't really into significant mods i.e. lowering, engine swaps, etc .
How does one even mod a vehicle ?
Do you have to be pals with a local shop or something ? I assume it's either that or pay out the arse for at home equipment .

tl;dr I want make my '99 shitbox lower, faster and louder; how does do ???
I'm heading out for dinner but I'll check the thread soon as I'm back

NEVER molest a corolla, keep it stock.

It isn't worth it.
>>
>>17770110
Why's that ?
>>
>>17770143
Cause
1. It's stock, it's extremely rare now a days to find ANY vehicle from that era in stock/clean condition. Most have been rusted out/ruined by awful mods and body kits
2. Unlike its competitor (the Honda Civic) the Corolla (of this era at least) isn't really suited for mods or body kits. The civic already looks bad with mods, it would look 10 times worse on a corolla.

If you were looking to turn a used 99 Corolla into a sports car, then I'm afraid you are gonna be very disappointed. Either re sell it, or keep in a garage for 50 years, so it can be put in a museum somewhere and be labeled as "the car of 2000" "a time before autonomous driving"

U just mad u can't afford one. Fucking cuck.

In my area they're not too abundant, but easy to find fun a manual. They're not horribly built, and are about the same price as a lot of GM fwd shit boxes.
Why do you hate them Anon?

I own a 2006 mustang v6 convertible and want to get as much power out of it as possible

I already have a factory installed dual exhaust and I'm looking into a cool air Intake and a tuner.

The obvious answer is to get a v8 but I don't have the money, and installing a turbo or super charger would putt to much strain on the transmission

What what else can I do anons?
23 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
If you don't want more power than the transmission can take then you obviously know where your obstacle is. The cheapest way to make power is with nitrous and I'm sure you only want to make power when you get laughed at for having a v6 convertible presumably automatic mustang. Put a 50 pound wet shot on it.
>>
You could sell that and get a V8 for less than a supercharger installed.

V6 owners need to realize they've made their choice already. Don't bother trying to turn it into a hotrod.
>>
If you can afford to supercharge it then you can afford to sell it and buy a V8

So my car used to stall around every 4 days after I got a tuneup. Mech said it would "go away" but it didnt for a long time until 2 months ago. Then it stalled on me today.
I thought about what I did differently and I realized that I had been driving with my a/c on every day these 2 months. I find the fact that the 1 time my car stalls in 2 months is when I dont have the a/c on suspicious. That and my car has never stalled when the a/c was running.

If you are willing to take care of it (maintaining), you will not have any issue.
>>
You sure won't get anywhere fast. Anything post 1993 (ish, might've been 94) has biodegradable wrap on the electrics, hence fuckity electrics.
A model before that will lower your chances of chrysler spec tomfoolery.
I expect given they're a 30 year old car now, you'll only have age related issues. Some bits will just be worn out and it's bound to have rust in it.
>>
>>17768589
Fast is a bit subjective here
The fastest car I drove was a 2017 Golf a friend lent to me to pay me back
the only other cars I've driven are a 2003 polo a KIA rio
