i just want to be an old man
driving a banged up toyota sfr
with guns in the trunk
all i want
will it ever happen
Sorry we aren't allowed to have dreams in this world. Get in your CVT 1.5 turbo crossover and shut up.
>>17774879
I want it, so it won't happen.
Why do you want to be an old man? Everything hurts, you piss a lot more, you move slower...shits not fun.
What's the lewdest thing you've done in a car, /o/?
Actually considered buying a Toyota camry.
sex in the back seat
sex in the trunk
>bike vibrating badly while idling
>strap pocket-pussy to gas tank and fuck it in the garage

Not as good as my plan
What do you think of this list?

>flyin miata everything

Hey /o/, need a first car that's got decent mileage but that I can still get some good revs out of, while dodging "sports cars" because they cost hella to insure. Max budget of $3000 on the east coast, am I screwed? Pic not related

Miata
Buick Century
Chevy Cavalier
Ford Focus
Pontiac Bonneville
All very underrated poorfag cars.
My girlfriend of 4 years left me because I wouldn't stop talking about my car after I got it in February.
Before I kill myself, AMA.

pic related?
car in question is 1999bmw 323ci e46 manual
was attacking uphill curves blasting eurobeat with my date sitting in the passenger seat
all good, on the downhill clutch starts slipping? car just randomly slow downs then accelerates when having gas pedal pressed in, switch to higher gear to compensate for this. 2 minute later engine stalls, cranks but wont run even if its in neutral with clutch pressed in. manage to roll down the car til end of touge and parked it somewhere safe.
what do you think fellow /o/tists
My guess would be its clutch

Thanks for constructive argument.
So we bought this solar tuk tuk and had it imported and im very confused about the laws on it because an lsv has for wheels and this has three.... and at first they wouldnt import it because no odometer so they put a limiter on it that makes it only got nineteen miles an hour... Im sure no one will rub our dicks about it because there are so many people who ride a golf cart here in new orleans without a license and plates, it also has a thousand watt motor that runs it and in most states that is considered a toy and people ride scoters with thousand watt motors all the time without a care in the world I just wander if any of you guys know more about this particular vehicle and its legality. because... we really just got it because we cant afford insurance but need to have our own means of transport
Im thinking of doing a vaporwave theme on it....

Just throw shit at them of you get pulled over and claim it was "an Indian greeting"
Hey /o/
So I have just developed an interest for cars, and I'm not sure where to start exactly. I came here see if one of you boys could possibly turn me to the right direction.
I suppose you'll ask what kind of cars that I like, and I'll answer with pic related. This nice looking 63' Trans Am.
Also, my knowledge of cars is still growing, so go easy on me. My eventual goal is to learn how to restore a car, and do it. Preferably a nice looking car from the 60s or 70s
>>17774306
You would like the Bedford Rascal, that's a real nice van
>>17774306
What do you drive OP?
>>17774334
I drive a 2001 Honda Accord. Pretty much perfect condition since my parents bought it in 2001.

if they have the money to do it then why does it matter
german cars are very nice and as such you have to, uh, heheh, "pay to play" ;)

what exactly makes bmw so much more expensive to maintain?
I'm seeing the appeal of the WRX.
>simple interior
>simple controls
>simple engineering
>no gimmicks
>best modern car visibility
>best AWD system
>highly practical
>recaro seats (as of 2018)
>easy to drive fast
>high resale
>300HP w/tune
Aside from requiring a mandatory vape, what is the catch? Is it just insurance and cops?
>300 hp with tune
too young to afford the insurance.
>>17774156
Drive one and judge for yourself. They also don't look very good in my opinion. Too tall and fat
>>17774190
Almost zero modern cars look good, and I think this looks better than most trash today, even if it's not pretty. The scoop at least gives it some identity.
>car company is owned by another country instead of it's home country
so like all car companies other than american?
If it's built well, why does it matter?

Anyone's into car audio here? I don't know anything about it and my experience reaches only as far as replacing stock radio and stock speakers (nothing unnecessary, those things had rotten suspension and one was just buzzing instead of making sounds), so my question might sound dumb, but:
How effective are all of those soundproofing mats or other things people stuff behind their doors to make outside car sounds less noisy? Is it really possible to make car significantly quieter, at least on low rpm? Or is the only way to have "good audio" in car is to replace trunk with huge ass subwoofer, and then slap small speakers literally everywhere in the car?
I would rather avoid this brute-force "add more speakers" solution, but i'm really annoyed by the fact that if i want the song to sound even remotely like it sounded in my home system, i have to crank up the volume unreasonably high (and then it's deafening and tiring after a while).
>>17774107
Audio is more than speakers, is about quality amplification. If you can't get an amplifier that is able to crank up the volume without raping the sound, you're just installing a jackhammer in the trunk. Audio isn't just installing a big subwoofer as some people like to think.
You should learn more on how things actually work electrically but I'll give you some advice:
a good setup is: stereo > amplifier > passive low and high pass filtering. You'll need twitters, woofers both medium and medium-low frequency and a subwoofer. All of these cost money, so you should clear up your mind first.
I also wanted to do thing in big because muh audio but then realized it wasn't worth the burden, I just listen to the radio.
>>17774252
Also I'd like to add that audio draws a lot of power, probably you'll need an extra 12v battery to run everything without constantly having the engine running.
>>17774298
A standard 90 amp alternator can handle 600 watts of power no problem. Being that most shitboxes have no more than 4 speakers, powering all 4 at 50-75 watts accompanying a 300 watt sub, power should not be a problem.
>mercedes c class
am I too believe these things are reliable?
>am I too believe these things are reliable?
>can be expensive to own if you dont wrench on it yourself
nope
>>17774100
then why is it in the category: ?
>for basic, reliable A to B transportation in small 4 door car
>>can be expensive to own if you don't wrench on it yourself
I am planning on doing this, but how much more are mercedes parts compared to say a ford (which I currently own) or a toyota?
The bits that keep it running are fine... mostly. Up until 1996 they had issues with wiring degrading, so thats something to look out for. Rust is always an issue, but mostly on non-vital parts like bodywork and doors. Looks like shit, but it wont kill it
Still; they're old. Anything from 17 to 24 years old, and have usually racked up some miles. Be prepared for rotted rubber & cracked seals

This isn't going to be a Supra regardless of what they want to call it. People with the money for a new "Supra" will just get the Z4 variant instead because it'll probably come with a boosted i6.
do all Japanese manufacturers have terrible paint quality?
I have a 2013 legacy(second owner) and its already having clear coat failure with little spots of cracking clear coat. Plus to meantion all the chipped paint all over the front of the car, and it only has 50k miles on it. I would think this would be natural, but I owned a 06 kia sorento that had around 200k on it when I got rid of it and it had 5 owners and the paint on it was in much better shape besides the scratches
nope, just Subaru
>>17775595
Honda/Acura is pretty fucking bad too, while Toyota/Lexus are IMO consistently the best. Nissan isn't terrible either (can't say that about the rest of their cars though).
>>17775595
My 20 year old Subaru has pretty good paint, people just don't know what wax is
