Check the ignition system for gremlins. How old are the plugs? Gapped correctly?
>>
>>17067685
The fouling looks kinda thick.
Mabey too rich, rather than lean?
>>
that's a groce plug mate

I sure hope it's old as fuck. Either you're running way dirty or the ignition system can't get a spark through it.

Can someone tell me who would buy one of these?

Looks like something a millenial would be into because its a good way to virute signal to everyone that you drive an electric vehicle. Perhaps you could rive it to the Rally for Science to protest the DRUMPF global warming agneda.

How do you convince a man to sell a car listed at $3500 for much lower? how do I fuck this man out of this money?
its a 1996 base model 240sx with a cracked dash, 129k miles, " sometimes it take two key turns to start. Not sure of the issue" but otherwise is clean and is bone stock

how do you guys convince privatte steller of price drop

>>17067459
You gotta haggle for a lower price, check the title before you buy for authenticity.
>>
>ey nigga $3500 is a bit much , how about $xxxx
>naw that's too low, how about $xxxx
>highest I'll go is $xxxx

I'm too scared
I don't want to offend
I'm a very small guy

Trying to decide between buying an E39 540i with under 100k miles or a slightly used SS with under 20k miles. I'm leaning towards the E39 because of the lower price of entry, but would appreciated input.

I have estimated maintenance over 5 years of ownership on the E39 being approximately $1500 per year, and the SS to be approximately $300 per year. Are those reasonable estimates?
16 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
I'd get the E39. I had a 530 for years and spent approximately zero dollars on maintenance. It's gotta be way cheaper than a 2-year-old SS.
>>
>>17067438
For the E39 pushing 100k miles is when a lot of things start needing to be replaced. If you do ALL the work yourself 1.5k/yr is tad generous. I love my BMWs, but you will need a 2nd car to drive, if something is wrong on the BMW, fix it asap. Things too look out depend on the previous owner, but look for timing belt, water pump. Also expect a lot of non-mechanical issues, sunroof not opening, dead pixels in the dash ECT.

What year is the bmw?
>>
>>17067483
I'd be looking for an 01-02. I prefer the refreshed styling, but don't want the M front bumper.
How much might maintenance be if labor was paid for?
I'm not that concerned about downtime as there is a bus line that goes straight from my house to my work.

Average in summer is about 110-ish here. Happens to a lot of toyotas too. They just bleach or bubble like crazy. Doesn't help the car is all black inside and out too.

in a beyond controversial "green" plan our government is trying to pass a law that would limit your average sportscar to 250hp, taxing each extra horsepower 20€
per year
this effectively makes it impossible for a normal citizen to justify owning anything past 300hp

Did they ever produce """""the best car in the world""""""" or were they always a meme car-maker?
34 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>17066985

Whether or not it was/is the best is debatable, the point is that they didn't skimp on materials and craftsmanship.
If its leather, use good leather.
If its wood, use real wood.
None of the plastic with stickers on it crap.
>>
British autism with handcrafting gave them an advantage with mechanical parts before WW2 and unparalleled luxury with materials. Post ww2, advances in mass manufacturing and suspension/engine improvements everyone learned about in the war leveled the playing field so much that Rolls Royce are almost meme tier. Another problem with hand built cars is that no two are alike. Might be cool, until you need repairs or to restore it. A 50's V8 Cadillac offers much of what a 50's Rolls can with more power and ease of maintenance. Modern rolls had to steal French hydropneumatic suspension to stay relevant and needed help from BMW. They are still fine pieces of machinery. Reviewers have said they're so comfortable it's too boring.
>>
>>17067055
This. It's the same deal with firearms. High-end handmade British guns are sublime, but you have to send the whole thing back to the factory if a part needs replacing because the part has to be built to fit the gun.

Meanwhile, Italian and American companies build guns that are pretty much just as nice to shoot and can be serviced locally.

Yeah, a Ford Scorpio Hatchback, with the 2.9l V6. Not too much, but to me it meant the world

I was... 9 years i think. My family was on a winter holiday. And one evening, mom gets sick. She stays in bed, whatever.

That night, she got a heart attack. Dad throws her, me and my sister in the car, and does the 75km (just over 45 miles) to hospital in under half an hour.

Mom was okay in the end, and dad chuckled to himself about that "damned old ford"
