Was he the forefront of the tranny movement?

Unironically yes.
Hegel was the last great philosopher. The turn towards irrationalism after him is why we first had fascism and then pomo liberalism.

Yes, just look at that qt face.

What medium does /lit/ use for reading?

I read from a book like a normal person
>>9034852
a ereader is probably the best. you can store entire libraries on it, long battery life and you're not staring at a screen, its e ink
>>9034852
Read a book or from an ereader. Lcd screens (amoled, whatever--anything backlit) are not good for you. I know because I've already fucked up my eyes.
I wanted to share a think piece I just wrote, which I thought would serve as an interesting topic of discussion, as it's a piece of writing and also discusses topics such as modernism and post-modernism, which I believe a lot of people on this board have probably studied.

Has philosophy ever actually helped you? I feel like it's just fucking me over in a world that is ruled by empiricism.
>>9034770
You should be challenging that empiricism on philosophical grounds, if you can. It's not philosophy that has failed you- it's the other way round.
intelligence isn't the same thing as wisdom

I want to write a novel from a high school senior guy's POV. I'm a girl and worried it won't be authentic. What do I do?
>>9034701
Realise that authenticity is a chimera.
>>9034701
The point of writing fiction is in imagining the perspective of another, thats already a radical act even if they're superficially the same demographic as yourself.
If you fail authenticity on this front then you'll fail on any other
Remind yourself that authenticity is considered unimportant now thanks to postmodern thinkers.
What's the verdict on modernism? A good idea that turned into a tragedy?
>>9034686
ad libitum commodification
>>9034686
Modernism is still the peak of art in every medium.

Can anybody post the link to the meme review of Blood Meridian that's on youtube? It's of some guy who complains about how he didn't understand 70% of what was going on in the novel and how he was memed into reading it.
I dont understand how people consider this book "hard". there is tons of violence and action that's very explicitly described, so I'd never call it boring. there's only a few key characters that matter, so it's not hard to keep track of who's who. and the chapter subtitles even outline the key events so it's almost impossible to not follow along.
I'm not a smart man and failed at reading a ton of classics (The Scarlet Letter, The Divine Comedy, Moby Dick), but I did not see where the hard part was in this book.
>American """"literature"""""
Just stop.

I know this is a screen from the movie of Lord of the Rings, but this particular scene in the extended edition got me curious and I'd thought I'd ask /lit/ first, what does he mean by this? I don't know the LOTR lore all that well.
I believe he is referring to Denethor, who at the time was using the seeing stone and was unwittingly being influenced by Sauron. Denethor didn't realize that while using the stone he was only seeing what Sauron wanted him to see, and this caused him to despair because all he saw was the destruction of Gondor and what looked like the victory of the enemy.
He was referring to the rotten plot, riddled with more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese.
Saruman was too good a character for that book.

Nothing, it's more bs lines Peter Jackson added for no reason that isn't in the books.
