I feel like I often read something along the lines of "Then I learned it is possible to transition, and suddenly I felt more and more like I *needed* that" or "I realized I was trans when I head about <insert trans-related thing here>." It's personally also my experience, in that I suddenly got bombarded with trans-related stuff and ended up gender dysphoric (yeah, AGP, I know, whatever).
So, is gender dysphoria a meme in the literal sense of "an idea/behavior that spreads from person to person within a culture"?

Sometimes I know it would be a bad idea to transition and realize the chances of me passing and living a normal life are pretty low. Other times I don't care what my chances are I want to be the closest thing I can be to a woman and think even if I look like an ugly woman it would be better than how my life is now. I go through both of these phases sometimes for hours sometimes for days. I wish I could just be one or the other all the time so I could just transition or not and be sure. I think I might actually be insane it's not normal in the slightest to basically argue with myself like this. Did other trans people experience anything like this? Am I just really deep in the closet and trying to repress?

tbqh i'm kinda jealous of some trans people. transitioning seems to really improve peoples lives and self image, and there seems to be a lot of support between one another. i'm a cis male, i hate everything about my body, and the only advice i've ever been given is "just stop being depressed". no one takes BDD seriously when a masculine dude is the patient

I will say generally trans people are very supportive of other trans people. I honestly try to be nice and helpful to any trans person I meet.

I'm pretty sure I'm AGP but I also have dysphoria I just don't know if it's worth transitioning. I'm in my early 20's so I doubt it would turn out all that well anyways.
