Need some help understanding this better.
What defines a transwoman?
I'm talking to two for the first time (and being aware of it)
One of them is a really hot girl and has a penis.
The other looks like a dude in a dress, like I'm pretty sure this is just a man wearing a dress, he has no feminine features.
So my understanding was, this person in the dress is a transgender, female brain, male body.
And the first girl was a man and had hormone and other surgery to be a girl.
Am I wrong here? Can someone clear this up so I don't offend anyone.

The first girl is definitely either trans or intersex (someone biologically born with characteristics of both sexes). Being intersex is unlikely however given that she claims to be trans, if she was intersex she would almost certainly know about it since it's a common medical diagnosis.
The second person could either be a legitimate transwoman who is just unfortunately masculine, or they could just a transvestite (someone whose gender identity matches their birth sex but still enjoys dressing as the opposite sex). In that case they are claiming to be trans to deceive people, either to avoid hatred for their crossdressing fetish, or prey upon legitimate trans people.

The third person is most likely a transtrender. These are people who claim to be transgender because being trans is seen as cool within their social circle and they want attention. These people are usually girls and almost always appear in very liberal settings (such as a university, as in your example). Transtrenders never actually want to transition beyond maybe changing how they dress or cutting their hair. They don't want to gain secondary sex characteristics like breasts, facial hair, etc. They also do not want to have different sex organs. This is in contrast to legitimate trans people, who almost all either transition or want to transition but fear that they either won't pass or will be stigmatized in society because of it.

Trans people don't "recruit" others to make them depressed so that they can feel better about themselves. I have this militant transwoman on my facebook who keeps posting shit like this which I don't mind but it's the constant implication that POC trans people are getting murdered because of racism when evidence shows that a number of the trans people killed in 2016 were actually killed by black men. It's annoying me that I can't point this out without being dubbed a racist and I'm fearful that POC trans people will continue to die because people would rather peddle "white people are racist" rather than deal with transphobia within these communities.
