I heard biological immortality is around the corner and wanted to talk about how much of a shitshow that's going to be since it won't be for the masses.

> it won't be for the masses
Life expectancy worldwide increased by 5 years in less than two decades
>>3229244
>It's future history?
Think about what you've just said.
why did they not just create one boer state?
>>3229169
Because they were boered of nation building.
Why create one?
>>3229194
Fuck off carlos
Where to find good 3D super detailed topographical maps?
Did caesar deserve this?
>>3229028
He didn't deserve it. He was genuinely trying to improve the lot of most of the Roman population. He was stupid though, for thinking that amnesty would work when Romans are famous for being the most backstabbing cunts in history.
Yes
>>3229028
>ywn fight along side Caesar
Why live
Is creativity nurtured or inhereted?
I would say neither my parents are the creative type and it CAN be nurtured, though I think they vaguely both might be creative types (my mom's favorite hobby is arranging flowers, my dad created all the design for his company himself.)
Name me one civilization south of the Sahara that actually contributed something to mankind.

>/his/ is not /pol/, and Global Rule #3 is in effect. Do not try to treat this board as /pol/ with dates. Blatant racism and trolling will not be tolerated, and a high level of discourse is expected.
Why has politics replaced religion in Western civilization? it seems like people will gradually extremeitize themselves to ideologies that don't make sense like nazism, communism, and liberterianism,
>>3228894
the political party's determine our character and morality
politics have always been a part of people's lives. even if you were a serf with no power whatsoever you would still be interested in your lord's holdings, or even if you were a roman slave you'd still like to know how your city is being ran.
churches aren´t very good at managing states
Let's imagine the South successfuly secedes. When do they abolish slavery?
>>3228879
eventually the laborers that couldn't afford land or slaves would revolt against the wealthy
slavery puts a damper on the job market
>>3228879
they don´t abolish slavery, they expand it to Central America
In comparison, Brazil abolished it in 1888.
Who would be the first to do it?
Why Sub-Saharian Africans have built nothing?
Did they fear black warrior?

Your own map disproves you

Do you know difference between state and building?
When did human beings invent meditation?
Is it a meme or is it the most important practice?
>>3228668
What a load of bullshit.
But who drew that semen demon?
Its an intrinsically religious practice but it's been appropriated by western securalists as a lifestyle accessory.
>>3228668
Chant "HARE KRISHNA" it's the best meditation.
Let's talk about the history of amusement parks and rollercoasters

What the fuck am I reading?
What happens if the Germans somehow win at stalingrad? Do they push on? Do they wait in the city which is kind of ruined and fortifiy it while army group A reach Baku and secure the oil? Also would the Soviets be out of oil as Hitler planned or would they get enough from the land lease to keep them rolling?
>>3228383
>a ruined city and still many many angry russians on your flanks
>>3228383
If they secure the oilfields intact then they stand a chance. If not, they're still fucked anyway. They would just last longer. Perhaps until 1946 or even 1947.
All that happens is that the Wallies have to move the offensive into Italy farther east.
I suspect that Manstein's stock would have risen enormously at Vinnitsa and he would have been given a carte Blanche by the Fuhrer to conclude the War with Russia by 1944.
However, the problem is that FDR and Churchill would have used any means necessary to keep the Red Army afloat, including moving the Italian front to the Caucasus. That would have taken time, but given Allied dominance in sealift, it could have been done.
Hey /his/. I was talking with a friend about abdication in the olden days.
Aside from pic related and (most of) the dictators of Rome, are there any notable examples of successful rulers stepping down once they've accomplished their goals to live a life largely away from the halls of power?
>>3228332
I honestly can't think of any.
I guess King Haakon of Norway stepped down but he didn't exactly abdicate, he became ill and recognised that he needed to teach his son to rule. Actual examples of monarchs abdicating while still mostly healthy and powerful are pretty rare. Diocletian was too based for this world.
>>3229027
Which Haakon?
Polk could be considered an example of this. He achieved the main platform he laid out in his campaign, and declined to run for a second term.
Hi /his/, I am looking for remarkable, yet relatively unknown people in history, especially persons who’s performed deeds that “stick out” in a way.
It’s a bit hard to explain so I’ll try with some examples:
Gabrielle D’annunzio, italien poet, writer, womanizer and war hero. Invaded the city of Fiume and tried to give it back to Italy after the Paris peace after WW1. When Italy didn’t want it, he declared it an independent state and had weekly readings of his own poetry in the town square. Spent the last 17 years of his life building a monument in honor of himself.
Or Diocletian, one of the few roman emperors who successfully retired, who, after the empire had gone downhill after his retirement, refused to come back as he was busy with his hobby: cabbage farming
(I know both are a bit more complex in actual history, but I shortened them down)
SO, /his/ got any cool stories?
Hard mode: Cool shit done by a woman – searching for “badass/cool/whatever woman in history” gives you women who’s done what a man has already done, only remarkable because it was done in a male-dominated world, i.e opened a university or flew over the atlantic ocean
