WHY is it so hard to get an IPS display budget laptop but phones and tablets all come with one?
>>60685253
They're smaller.
>>60685253
Because IPS displays are expensive and smaller ones are cheaper.
>>60685253
I really don't understand why the laptop OEMs refuse to move on from 1366x768 TN panels in everything that costs less than $1,000. A decent 21.5" 1080p IPS display can be had for around $120, and there are budget phones at around $300 with FHD IPS displays. There is no reason a laptop at $7-800 shouldn't include an IPS display, or that laptops in that price range shouldn't at least have an option to upgrade for ~$50.

Can I use a dab black epoxy to black out SMT LEDs on a PCB?
Don't know if this is the place but I'll shoot. I'm at the point where I can spend whatever I want on a new pc build. Including monitors and other bullshit accessories. I come to you gents for ideas. With unlimited monies what would you build. And with AMD stepping up their shit would switching to them be a good idea

I've done my research and have had plenty of ideas but as with most things in life. There is someone that will always know more then you and more eyes on one thing usually works out better but thanks for the cancer bud.

PC building general thread.
Go AMD if you want MOAR CORES at the expense of some (~25%) single core speed on the high end.
Redpill me on Cryogenization /g/, would you pay for a second chance?

The idea is perhaps in the future they'll be able to solve that problem. Better have lots of money in the bank if it ever is solved because I'm sure it won't be free and the inflation will kill you all over again.
Ever see that Futurama episode where Fry finds out the $5 he left in the bank was worth billion 1000 years later? Like that, but you're poor.

Are torrents a good example of actual communism?
No, because communism can't apply on non-material economics.
Now go be a retard somewhere else.
No, they're a good example of theft
So actually yeah, they are

Not sure what you mean. Longest file containing code I've ever written? Biggest piece of software I've ever created? What if it's a website and it consists of a lot of PHP, HTML, JS, CSS, custom C++ components, SQL code, Bash-Scripts, Ruby-Scripts, Python-Scripts, a complete FTP-Server software and probably more stuff I've forgotten?
Hey, /g/. Can a 10 year old computer handle an i7 upgrade? Is it worth it to fix up and modernize my lennovo from 2010? And how do you go about making an old computer function at todays standards?
>>60684220
You can only upgrade to a CPU which is pin compatible with the board you have now and which there is a BIOS update which can handle it else you'll get POST errors.
Get a cheap as fuck thinkpad x220 or x200 from ebay and install linux mint on it.
>>60684220
I found you can pop in the best CPU which was available in the day, new video card, max the RAM and add a SSD or better a PCIe board to boot off.
My old Core 2 was upgraded as such and is able to play bf4 on 3 screens though CPU is about maxed (quad core 2 extreme).

No.
I came close to gettting one of these but decided on the 6P instead. Glad really, the Moto hardware doesn't seem to have played well with later versions of Android. My 6P's still flawlessly running the latest 7.1 betas.
