Wow. Look kids, fags.
Hello /g/
I have to use a MacBook Pro for work. I do not like the fact that OS X forces me to use its desktop environment. If I could get rid of it and use something like awesomewm or i3, I wouldn't complain. No, don't bring up Amethyst or Hammerspoon or any other of these other hacks on top of OS X's Accessibility API. They're all dumpster fires, every single last one of them.
So here's my question: what's the most lightweight Linux distro that I can virtualize within Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac while still being supported by Parallels Tools? I know it's a stupid question but I have to do it nigga I'm desperate I'LL SUCK YO DICK FOR A WM FUCK APPLE I WANT TO DIE

Is this graphics industry?
Is it possible to view a private Instagram accounts by using an alternate program or an app on a smart phone?
I've tried a few online, but they're obvious scams. Do you guys know of any way?

I don't have an Instagram. If I did, yeah, I'd totally do the logical thing here. But it'd be silly to make an account just for this.

CIA & NSA WAS A MISTAKE
>>60922301
no shit. literally everyone who isn't in it thinks that. the only reason it's still around is because they have an entire country hostage
>>60922445
they're fantastic at what they do, but the abuse is the problem. they have their intelligence co-opted by mic capitalists like bush and cheney then get blamed for torture. it's the overreach and black bag stuff on american soil that ruins their credibility. everything they do overseas is fine.
How close are we to cybernetic eyes? Will they be better than the eyes we have now?
>>60922264
isnt there some kind of implant for eyes already, supposedly able to improve sight 3x
>>60922274
still in trials, will come to market in 2-3 years in euope, then 2 more years for the us
>>60922264
We need to get the battery tech to improve about 100 fold. Limbs are easy to charge with a USB plug can't do that with eyes.
I have to learn Spark (java web framework) for a class next semester and use it the entire time. How fucked am i / is it even useful in the real world? I know a little java as well if relevant from a cs course.
>spark
It's a total piece of shit and it's horrible to work with, but it is sometimes used in industry, though nowhere near enough to warrant its use in academia
Hey, I have a problem. I have a JBL clip 2. The problem I am having I have had before, this fucking thing for no discernible reason, when I put it on the charger, I woke up to find it flashing red, blue, and purple over and over without end. While this is happening it is completely unresponsive, reset function doesn't work, plugging it back in doesn't work (even for 4 hours well passed full charge.) the only way this was fixed before was by letting it die. But it's been 48 hours and the battery still hasn't gone out and I'm going insane at work without some music. I'm desperate and google has bared me no fruit. Pic related.
Literally send JBL an email? Why would anyone here know wtf is wrong with your stupid speaker.
>>60922207
I should have mentioned I tried that too but they haven't got back to me. Eat a bullet faggot I'm asking out of desperation.

For those who are now running a Ryzen system, what was your previous CPU/build, and how would you rate your satisfaction with the purchase?
Just wondering how actual owners are feeling about it if you ignore all the shitposting / benchmark wars.
its coming in the mail but I got a i3 2120. Bought the 1600.
Oh and this will be the firs time using an SSD.
>>60922170
I've had a 1700x for a couple months, i had to wait a month or so till my motherboard showed up due to shortages. It took a couple bios updates to make 2933mhz stable with my memory .
it's been cool being part of a fresh platform and seeing bios updates actually do things .
ryzen is really fucking fast.
>>60922170
>what was your previous CPU
A shitty 2c/4t 1.9GHz

Since when are advertising threads allowed?
>>60922128
aren't thinkpad, mpv, and linux threads advertising threads?
i am not advertising. i am just surprised this shit works. seems too good to be true
>>60922141
Dumb chinkposter.
I keep seeing conflicting opinions about Arch Linux on /g/. is it stable or not? Some users call it a time sink OS but I also see a lot of users claim that they've never had any problems with Arch.
They can't both be right so I killed a whole thread so that it can be settled once and for all in a melee of autistic screeching.
Works on my machine.
>>60922098
>is it stable or not?
it really depends on your hardware. It worked great on my desktop PC, but on my laptop it was a fucking headache to set up. (and it even broke after an update true meme)
It's work to set up (though less than Gentoo). If it's unstable, it's probably your own fault, though.
This pool of HSFs is quite small. Please suggest more HSFs!
Your comments, suggestions, and criticisms are appreciated.

The low profile noctua is quite good for it's use case l9i or some shit like that.
be quiet have a few good mid-teir ones out as well.
Do you still update logical increments? not seen it shilled on here in awhile
>>60922080
Please.
>>60922080
I am looking in bequiet Dark Rock 3 and Dark Rock Pro 3, but they are both high-end. Which mid-tier HSFs do you recommend?
>Do you still update logical increments?
I am doing this for that.

Why would someone cuck themselves by using the BSD license?

Cuck license is good for a throwaway code you don't care about.

What is the video card and/or CPU you've run as your daily for the longest time?
This piece of shit on a P4 without a pci-e or AGP slot from 2005 to 2011.
>>60921978
It's an XFX Geforce FX 5200 256mb. Not sure if 256 mb of texture RAM was even useful on PCI.
>>60921995
Oh yeah I had a FX5200 too. It was too slow even for Cod 2 in DirectX9 mode, played fine in dx7 mode though.
>>60922021
I have fond memories of trying to optimize UT2004 settings on this thing for best visuals and a playable framerate.
