fucking normie
IPS with good battery life and is light n portable
Slap on Linux and you got yourself a comfy netbook
Or keep chromeos and enjoy nice security but locked down default
Quick question /g/
You have a container, say a list. Each object in the container has an attribute A. What you want now is a new container of the same type containing those A's. Example:
[object0(A=4), object1(A=2), object2(A=0)]
to
[4, 2, 0].
I know how to write it, question is whether there is something like this in the standard library. Does not need to work irrespective of container type.

no..?
>>60927654
std::transformclass object
{
public:
object(int value) : foo(value) {};
int foo;
};
std::vector<object> from_vector;
for (int i = 0; i < 10; ++i)
{
from_vector.push_back(object(i));
}
std::vector<int> to_vector(from_vector.size());
std::transform(from_vector.begin(), from_vector.end(), to_vector.begin(), [](object const &obj) {return obj.foo; });

Any efficient ways of going about this or just human bruteforce?
Dear wielders of the mighty soldering iron. They say you're not supposed to do the 12-5=7 trick because your PSU won't like it.
I don't like to use resistors because I had a Noctua resistor that came with a fan catch fire once.
So please have a look at pic related. Is it actually that easy?
>>60927448
well yeah, that's what a voltage regulator is for.
>>60927448
Get a datasheet for your regulator: http://www.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?genericPartNumber=LM7800&fileType=pdf

Well, I didn't do my research and got an E series not a T series Thinkpad (E550). I'm still happy with it, but it just doesn't run as fast as I'd like, even with an I7.
I refused to get laptops most of my life because I think they're unreliable. A technician I spoke to recently explained to me that the big concern is heat, and that if I had a good way to mitigate it, the performance and reliability would be better.
Would there be a way to set the computer up to run at a higher specification when plugged in/ using additional cooling? Sort of as an offset to a desktop.

What tools have you used on Windows to give you the GNU/Linux feel?
b-b-bash for windows
>>60927215
Yeah, and i'm stuck with fucking windows 7. I don't care about telemetry at work. I'm a GNU/Linux user 99% of the time at home.
Is Bash only available through Cygwin otherwise?
>>60927215
Nice. Say it with confidence senpai, it's /much/ better than Cygwin.
