Longtime android user here, I just got my first iphone, a cracked iphone 5S I found on the side of the road. I managed to fix the screen for $13 (found it on ebay). I really don't know what I'm doing and am looking for some good websites with information about jailbreaking, activation locks, etc.
>>60921719
OP here, there seems to be ridiculous amounts of misinformation about jailbreaking / activation locks out there. The iphone I found was not activation locked. Not knowing anything, I stupidly updated it to the latest firmware and it works, but I want to learn more. There seems to be cheap iphones on ebay that are "icloud locked" and am wondering if I can unlock them.
Give back the phone, Tyrone.
>>60921751
LOL, no seriously, I found it on the side of the road. I had to buy a sprint nano-SIM card on ebay to activate the phone. The IMEI is clean.
Look I programmed a car in C

How long do I let this go before I drive to Microsoft and start putting holes in nerds?
>>60921684
Depends, do you have an SSD?
Mine took like 4 minutes from restart to fully usable again on one.
HDD might take like 10~30 minutes.

http://appleinsider.com/articles/17/06/15/apple-airport-not-on-latest-vault-7-list-of-gear-susceptible-to-factory-firmware-hack-by-cia
>The document dump of files generated by the CIA from as late as 2012 claims that devices from Asus, Belkin, Buffalo, Dell, DLink, Linksys, Motorola, Netgear, Senao, and US Robotics were susceptible to the attack vector. According to WikiLeaks, the Stanford Research Institute was a key partner in developing the CIA's tool.
>A "Vault 7" dump surrounding Apple wireless networking equipment circulated in March. The "Harpy Eagle" project sought to penetrate the AirPort family of hardware, but failed with all efforts stymied by a combination of Apple's encryption efforts, and the company's custom hardware solutions.
>There were no no fully functional or reliable exploits published that allowed the CIA to insert itself in a target's network through AirPort router hardware. Since the data dump's conclusion at the end of 2015, Apple has released four firmware updates for the hardware, further setting back the intelligence community's efforts.
What's your excuse for not owning the most hardened and secure router on the market, /g/?
>>60921614
Because If the CIA really wanted me that badly they would have allready gotten all my data.
>>60921647
So you're perfectly fine with Russian and Chinese hackers casually intercepting all your network traffic?
>>60921662
They wouldn't make any money because I use tor for everything except 4chan and random hackers can't crack that.

Hi /g/, non-/g/ here.
I'm deleting my [NEET] tags and getting a job so i can afford a good computer for the first time in my life, but i have no idea what i'm doing because i've never had the money to put together a computer before.
These are the parts i've chosen, simply because i want to be able to play anything on the market and preferably be able to stream it for fun while i'm doing it.
But again, i have no idea what i'm doing. I tried my best with my non-knowledge of pc building to pick parts with good reviews that would be compatible with eachother and still do the job i want them to do, but there's probably something obvious that i fucked up like the size of the case or how many/what type of slots something has that ruins everything.
If you guys could give me any input as to what i may have done wrong or any parts that might be better swapped out for something different, less powerful or cheaper, i'd appreciate it.
Please don't laugh at me too much, i don't know a whole lot.
I picked what i *think* is a self-contained water-cooling kit because i live in a hot area and i want to be able to overclock my CPU.
I'm not entirely sure how much power it would all draw, but i know i need more than 600w so i went with an 850w PSU, though i don't know if that's enough, especially if i want to pick up another graphics card to use as a dedicated physx card in the future, which i think i do.
From what i understand the price of your motherboard doesn't really matter all that much as long as it has all the slots and the correct type of slots for what you need.
I kind of want an extra 8gb stick of ram, but from what i've been looking at, 16gb seems like enough for most things, and i'll still have two extra slots if i need more in the future.

Everything's fine except for the LED color. If you use watercooling you might want to look at a green LED which lowers power consumption as opposed to temperature. Also if you're installing Windows 10 you won't need the surveillance HDD.
>>60922175
I've been talking with some other folks in the meantime and the list has changed somewhat.
I didn't know about surveillance HDDs.
I guess i should go with a 700w PSU? I don't want to go too low.

The tor project has proven to be trustworthy so far and as far as I can tell it adds better sandboxing so yeah you should definitely update.
