So, I think what I dislike the most about Van Lente's run is that it... "embraces" some of the goofier aspects of Joe, sure, but in a very self-aware, winking at the camera, "isn't this silly" way; and then it jumps back and forth between that and the super-serious military shit with no regard for tone. It's weird and it just doesn't work.

I've been reading this comic dump since it started, and all I can ask is:

Does GI Joe EVER do anything right? Every single fucking thing they do ends with at least 50 of them fucking dying. I mean, holy shit, they're supposed to be the best of the best of the best, and they're getting rolled by literal gangbangers Cobra recruits off the fucking street and shit, according to some of the issues showing their recruitment. Thats just fucking embarrassing. No wonder their funding got cut by like 99%, they're the most incompetent motherfuckers I've ever seen.
