PUNISHER STORYTIME
All this year I'll be posting Punisher comics. Most of the focus will be on pre-Ennis era material, but there'll also be some Ennis era stuff at some point or another. Expect at least 1 storytime per week.
So far this week I've storytimed The Punisher's team-up with Ghost Rider and Daredevil, along with the return of Max (appropriate name, lol), The Punisher Dog (both of which you can still read here: >>95313060 ). And then just yesterday I storytimed the return of Mike Baron to The Punisher comics, along with a story about The Punisher fighting a grizzly bear (that thread's still up, too! check it out right here: >>95357661 ).
Today we're picking up right where we left off on the main Punisher series, continuing the "no head writer era" of the title that followed the Abnett & Lanning run, where there'd basically be a different writer on each arc.
Up next is the return of the ORIGINAL Punisher solo-book writer, Steven Grant. You probably know him from the original Punisher miniseries, as well as his (imo, best work) Return to Big Nothing "graphic novel" (both of which are linked below incase you want to check them out). What most people DON'T seem to know is that he actually wrote a fair number of other Punisher issues in the early 90s. He did some stories in the seasonal specials, some random miscellanea, and had a full blown run on The Punisher War Journal following Chuck Dixon's lengthy, excellent run on the series. He also did some random issues of the other ongoings, including a few during the "fill-in era" of The Punisher's main book.
Today we're reading his 1st issues on this particular series, a couple of standalone issues each with a different artist, including the heavily stylized work of Hoang Nguyen. Grant was arguably the most "grounded" off all Punisher writers (INCLUDING Ennis), so you know the stories are satisfyingly gritty as well.

BUMP IF YOU'RE READING
Which demographic was this character meant to appeal to?
>>95166654
The "My Dick" demographic.
>>95166654
The Avery Bullock demographic.
>>95166666
Nice get, mate.
>>95166666
Curse you super Satan. I can't help but agree.

Well, /co/?
Are you lonely?
>>95166322
Not really, I live with my fun and vivacious BBW wife.
>>95166336
you can just call her fat you know
>>95166368
There's all sorts of ways he can call her. Landwhale, triglyceratops, diabeetus rex, etc.
>Good Evening, I'm Johnny Gomez!
>And I'm Nick Diamond!
>Tonight on Celebrity Deathmatch, we've got an absolute jaw-dropper of a show for you
>First up we've got Miles Morales vs Riri Williams in a bout we're calling 'Minority Autopsy Report.'
>There's no love lost between these two as each of these contestants duke it out to see which is the flagship of the Marvel comic book franchise and beloved writer's pet.
>Honestly, I don't know why those guys at Marvel don't just get themselves a dog for the office
>Next up, we've got Rick Sanchez vs Professor Farnsworth in 'Weird Science'
>Beloved cartoon scientists, both with quirky personality and catchphrases, it's no wonder people have been longing to see this fight
>For the purposes of this match, we've arranged the brawl in our patented 'OmniDome' to prevent any attempts to escape to parallel realities or call in any outside help
>We're definitely going to see Newton's Third Law in action tonight - for every act of violence there'll be an equal and opposite reaction of bloodshed
>And tonight's main event.....
>This is a fight that's captured the imagination of viewers for years and now it's finally happening
>We've got the T-1000 vs Batman. Yes, you heard it here first. Live for your viewing pleasure we present 'Judgement Knight.'
>Fans have debated for years whether Batman would be able to kill a Terminator with supporters claiming that they're just machines and detractors arguing for artificial sentience invoking the no-kill rule.
>Then of course there's whether or not an unstoppable killing machine would be able to defeat the Dark Knight when he has no opportunity for prep time or surveillance.
>Yes, this is guaranteed to be a night to remember.
>I remember every night Johnny. Except for last Thursday when I woke up wearing a bridesmaid's dress in a motel bathroom. That was one crazy road trip
>Okay Nick.......
This deserves a bump.
Spot on OP, spot on.
>>95166101
I genuinely want this to be a thing. Well done, OP.
Do it, Sonya. Take everything from her. Live in titcow heaven.
Is Didi so cruel that she'll dump her girlfriend for someone who doesn't care about her at all?
These women are horrible hypocritical people that somehow constantly always get away with the worst shit.
I like this idea. Shame nothing bad can ever happen to Zii and she can't be put in her place in any way.
How would you reboot it?
>>95165827
I wouldn't
Porn
>>95165827
They're all trannies. Have a couple episodes focused on them giving kids abortions.
What do think of Ultimate Raven-Form?
>le epin 24/7 Raven general
Off yourself
I AM ALL OF ME
It's time to go to a stage beyond ultimate power.
I've got your Billy Batson
>>95164901
No, his face looks weird
>>95164918
At least you'll be able to self insert into the movie better.
>>95164918
shut your face he's cute
Whew. Starting "Early" today huh, Nick Park? I hope /ourboy/ Eddie faps to a sabertooth.

Who's ready to look at the 2018 models already?
>>95164803
>Aardman
>Asterix-like anachronistic antics
>British accents
My interest is rising.
>Football oriented plot
My interest is waning.
I hope there isn't too much football, but Nick Park hasn't failed us yet
The sets and design look great, at least
Itt we post anime/manga and discuss how it would be different if westerners made itno shitposting pls
>>95164534
Shit that Griffith did would have been off panel
>>95164541
I can see that happening. if it was a webcomic then Mabye they would show it. But yea no comic company would be ballsy enough for that.
>>95164534
Original run of Berserk will be much shorter, multiple spinoffs and re imaginings would be made. An antagonist VERY similar to Donald Trump in look is introduced after the 2016 American election.
How would you react to this?
>Rick and Morty are together in the garage, Rick is planning out yet another wild adventure
>All of a sudden another identical Rick appears out of a wormhole and murders our Rick.
>Morty goes all Morty like "you killed my Rick! how could you?" blah blah blah
>Then the Rick who appeared there explains "THAT WASN'T YOUR RICK, MORTY! THAT WAS 'SEASON 3 RICK', I'M YOUR REAL RICK!
>goes on "COME ON, MORTY... 'PICKLE RICK?' ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID? DO YOU THINK I'D EVER TURN MYSELF INTO A FUCKING PICKLE? THIS SHOW HAS WENT DOWNHILL EVER SINCE I LET SEASON 3 RICK TAKE OVER, BUT NOW I'M BACKKK!!! SEASON 1 AND 2 RICK WOOOOOOOOOO!!!" *title opening sequence plays*
But anon S2 was terrible and S1 was ok. That unity episode was as melodramatic and tryhard as an episode of all my circuits
Backpedaling just makes you look like you lack conviction.
PICKLE RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
"What kind a chicken you want, mister?"/co/ goth thread

Go away Pan
>>95164465
I WANT MY SLAW!
>>95164502
YOU HAVE YOUR SLAW SIR
Static Shock is how you do a superhero story about a minority correctly. His primary character trait is being a hero; not being black.
>>95378353
I thought his primary trait was him being ghetto.
>>95378353
Static was ahead of his time. But unfortunately his complicated Milestone rights and a shit New 52 book have kept him from getting good exposure
>>95378365
His culture is African American, but that's not his character anymore than the primary character trait of a white character being white.
Is Lex Luthor natty ?
He is also a manlet.
>>95164381
>wants to demonstrate humans independently from the kryptonian
>buffs himself with Kryptonite.
>>95164381
This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but this is how peak performance looks like.
Why did they stop using Mort. You'd think having a funeral home next door would have come up more
>I'll make ANOTHER thread asking this question until someone agrees with me
>>95164064
What show is that from
