I was raised in the British style. The only constant is that the fork is in the left hand and the knife is in the right. It's perfectly acceptable to turn your fork over to scoop things that you don't need to cut up. In fact, it would be silly to do it any other way.
I'm not sure why dominant vs weak hand even matters. You can learn to use either hand for any task; I'm right-handed but I have zero trouble using my fork in the left hand.

Why doesn't my bread rise when I make homemade bread? I bought some bread and roll mix and followed the instructions to the tee, but shit only rose like half of what it was supposed to. I still baked it and ate it, seems fine, but I can't seem to make bread like my grandma and her mighty buttery loaves.

Don't use some mix. Get bread flour, yeast (I use active dry but instant works too), sugar, salt, and a fat (oil, butter, eggs). Make real bread anon, it really isn't hard.
