It's not a matter of "returning to the old Ken Sugimori style", this 90's style is not used ANYWHERE in japan nowadays, unless it's a remake of something and the like.
The artstyle can change again, yes, but it never would be like this again.

There's way too fucking many of them and the same goes for all legendaries, Gen 3 started this shitty trend and then Gen 4 and 5 went way overboard.
Also they are just tool to give the Nintendo the ability to force players to depend on their events and special distribution in order to complete their Pokedex
And most importantly, most of them are ugly as hell anyway.

Some of them have amazing designs, and I wish they were easier to obtain. I mean sure, having t be event only makes them feel "special" to many but it just bugs me a little.

So Nintendo just released their sales figures for the financial year going from the 31 March 2016 to the 31 March 2017.
Nintendo has sold
>7 million more 3DS, bringing the lifetime total to 66 million
>55 million games for the 3DS were sold, (thanks in large part to Sun and Moon which sold 15,44 million copies)
For the year going from 31 March 2017 to 31 March 2018 Nintendo projects to sell
>6 more million 3DS
>40 more million games
Now these are high figures for a console so late in its life cycle, and given the current state of Nintendo's own 3DS release the only way they're going to sell 40 million more games and 6 million more consoles if there is

>a new mainline pokémon game
We can pretty much safely state that there is going to be a 3DS mainline pokemon game this fall, if they want to sell those figures.
My money are on DP remakes for 3DS.

When i first saw Salazzle, my first thoughts were: "oh great, another fucking waifubait, they ruined salandit." But my opinion changed.
I think Salandit is one of the best first stage mons of the whole dex. It has an amazing design and cool new typing. You can't improve perfection. So what else could the evolution have been, other than a bigger Salandit?
I think they did a great a job at making a nice twist in the evolution, instead of another "it just gets bigger" episode. Salazzle is a cool pokemon, and it makes me sad how most people consider it waifubait.

I've never cared about what a "waifubait" is. That word is meaningless. If a Pokemon looks good, it being feminine, or a "waifu", isn't going to change anything. Only actually autistic people complain about that. For that reason, I thought Salazzle was good when i first saw it, and I think it's great after using it.
