Should I play Twilight Princess original version or the HD remake?

I have 2 options:

A) Play original TP right now on a gamecube emulator since my toaster PC can run it rather decently, however the only controller I have in a DualShock 3(which can probably work for the game)

B) Wait 2-3 months for when I have the time/money to build a proper PC and emulate TP HD it in CEMU instead. I can probably buy a Wii U controller as well since it would be more appropriate

Is it worth the wait? Does TP HD improve a lot of the game compared to the original? Please help me, /v/

Do RPGs with responsive gameplay exist?

By that I mean:
>ones where the player character doesn't feel like they're walking through sludge from all the inertia
>there are no long drawn out animations for everything
>there is no excessive smoothing of every element (movement, combat, actions, animations, dialog, UI, etc)
>controls aren't taken away from the player every so often
>conversations and looting and crafting and other activities don't bring the game to a halt and disrupt the flow
>there are no delays between pressing a button and the action happening
>the combat is satisfying and responsive and depends on mechanical skill as well
>etc

A vague example of what I'm talking about would be Counter Strike 1.6, or early Source games in general, I've always felt they were designed tightly and gameplay was enjoyable even in the event content wasn't. Or maybe World of Warcraft's weightless feel or Blizzard games in general.

Most big RPG devs like Bethesda and BioWare are not only guilty of unresponsive gameplay, but are notorious for it, and show no signs of improvement.

The problem here is that you're trying to mix two different schools of game design.

RPG's were originally made because player control was limited back in the pen and paper days. You needed stats, skills etc etc, to make up for player agency. As more and more APRG's get made you run into the problem of player control VS stats and numbers. For example, if you headshot somebody with a bow in an ARPG, should it be an instant-kill? Or should numbers and stats still play a role? An action game says yes, it should be an instant kill, but an RPG says no, numbers should affect the final outcome.

There are some ARPG's that feel quite satisfying, like Dragon's Dogma; but I would argue even this game suffers from this problem.

I've also thought about that, OP. I really like the idea of RPGs but the good ones are always uncomfortable to play.
I think Skyrim has good movement with air control and no inertia, albeit you can't turn well while running, but that's not a very good RPG.

Maybe he meant it as an example of bad controls. The movement is very floaty and unresponsive. I sadly gave up after an hour after a guy swung their sword behind himself and killed me.

What makes P5 so good /v/?
>every character's nature and personal story arc can be predicted immediately upon meeting them based on physical appearance and their first couple lines. Oh gee here's the party member who uses holy attribute I wonder who's going to turn out to be evil
>garbage frame story ruins pacing, explains shit that is already supremely obvious, and spoils the plot
>garbage cutscenes involving the baddies speaking ominously eventually spoil shit as well
>none of the Phantom Thieves personal growth during their social links is reflected anywhere outside of the specific confidant scenes, leading to many of them feeling like a split personality
>blatantly cut content, empty low effort Confidants
>Futaba(not saying this for bait, genuinely the worst character in the game and her presence actively broke my suspension of disbelief later in the story, which given that it's a fucking weirdo fantasy is pretty impressive in how shitty she manages to be)

Despite the fact that the only part of the game I can look at and say is great is the visual presentation it somehow sucked up 160 hours of my time and I enjoyed it even though none of the constituent parts are that great

I genuinely don't understand. I haven't been able to sit through an anime series in like 5 years, I usually hate JRPGs, and the writing is a trainwreck, but somehow this game just works...

This is a basic problem that goes through all the Hoshino Persona games. They discovered they could make dungeons not be absolutely unbearable by making minimal designs (and then get praised to heavens for being "the only" JRPG that do dungeons right, on a company that makes fucking Etrian Odyssey), they'll get to actual good writing three games from now.

Kojima did the right thing in relegating the plot to tapes you can listen while actually playing the game. The plot has some unfinished ends but overall it's fine.

The marketing for the game was very powerful but pretty deceptive as well. Either ways, V is a great game, even if it doesn't please the most cancerous part of the MGS fanbase.

What's a good game to get during the Golden Week sale on PS4 PSN?
I'm thinking Atelier Sophie, but I've never played an Atelier game before. Star Ocean now also has a decent price, but if it's really a 20 hour JRPG, I'm not giving them a single cent.

Any hidden gems in this sale? What did you get?

GoG does it too. Like fuck off. Steam actually has good sales so they don't need to pull this shit.
Mind you physical is a blessing and a curse for consoles, on the one hand, it's nice to still have it somewhere. On the other it makes digital sales all shit because they aren't allowed to drastically undercut game stores, leading to advertising like this.
