That's an intersting opinion. I really really like PW too, but compared to V it pretty much only has the comfiness factor, from the simple and clean game design to the nice atmosphere. In pretty much all the other areas V is an evolution of PW. That said, PW is probably the most underrated mainline entry in the series, with maybe MG2.

Anyway MGS1 is my personal favourite. The worst one is easily MG1, fortunately MG2 fixed all it's fuckups.
