We talk about writing Mars centric settings, but Venus never gets any love despite having:
-A point in the atmosphere where pressure and temperature end up being perfectly fine for humans if a little toasty (around 30-40C)
-Plenty of free energy with the clouds being able to reflect the abundant sunlight available due to Venus being closer to the sun on top of all that trapped heat down below
-Lots of water in the sulfuric acid cloud layer.
-A thick carbon dioxide atmosphere which turns breathable air into a lifting gas

The breathable air being a lifting gas can make for some zany shit that's able to float just because there's humans living in it. Even the Empire State Building can happily float on the atmosphere with a 400 meter radius envelope of air. With oxygen/nitrogen already being a lifting gas that would make hydrogen/helium tanks even MORE effective on Venus than on Earth. You could have entire floating castles.

On top of that the speed of sound in carbon dioxide is super low so you're going to be using slower planes on Venus than you would on Earth to avoid sonic booms everywhere. That means all planes would go slow enough for dogfights, and potentially propeller based planes being common.

The biggest fight over resources for Venus would be over raw materials as even the highest point on the surface still rains molten lead instead of snow. Mining operations would be difficult to say the least, but not impossible. NASA already has schematics for a rover that could explore the surface of Venus and says that the task would be doable even with current technology.

You're a Cave Hydra, big and mighty. However, your size and mightiness is yet again questioned by something clearly not natural.

Before you stands a massive rocky being. It radiates nothing that would make it alive, it's as if the rocks were forced to move. It's disproportioned arms turn into pinching claws, resting on the floor and supporting the massive torso from toppling over. And to top it all off, long chains rattle about on its back, idly wrapping themselves around air as if waiting to be commanded.

On this abstract thing sits an orc, holding an U shape ending stick that's twice as long as him, he supports the other end with the thing's back. His muscles are tightened by black straps of leather and bulge out because of it, and his eyes look nothing what you could consider to be normal. They're deranged, staring at you not like you were a piece of meal, but a mere object.

The cages still rattle from the over-aggressive malnourished carnivores, itching for a fight to happen. It would appear that this place where your kindred souls are tortured and kept in cages way too small for them will be your battlefield.

How do you fight the system, /tg/?

I'm interested in opening up a shop. There is nothing around my town within a 4 hour drive, but quite a few magic players. At the very least, I'm interested in selling online if brick and mortar falls through. There's all kinds of guides and resources available for this if you're in the us, but is there anything available for Canadians? Any of you running your own shop? Obviously mtg is the main moving product, but we'd like to bring in warhammer and maybe some fantasy flight games to see if they generate any interest in the area

It's like the sort of situation where you're in a tight space and you're carrying a crate or something, and someone else with another crate comes from the other side, and you see them coming, and you know you can't both pass at the same time and yet, for some reason, you will always meet at the tightest possible point where one of you will have to back up.

But when you do, so does the other, and then you take a step forward and so does the other, and you awkwardly dance and exchange embarrassed stares trying to out-read each other but constantly fail and you can't help it and it happens all the time.

This is pretty much what's been happening with Bryld, who's clinging to your arm, pushing her considerably-sized and soft breasts against your upper arm. She also sounds somewhere between the disappointed, the frustrated, the confused and some other feeling, though she's not completely inexcusable given her lack of experience.

Your other partners have been awkward at times but they were also more straightforward. She claims that her city girl friends weren't as shy as she is which means you just had the luck to get a very special case of indecisive virgin.

Well, not totally indecisive, it seems like she's made up her mind about doing something, but she's kind of shoving all the initiative and responsibility on you.

The sun is starting to set, you're sitting in the tall grass in the outskirts of New Royo, relatively close to the building Tahenohan has been making cheese in all day. You have dinner with you, plus some extra food for your next trip, which will bring you to Maner. It may be a while before you come back here.

The silence is a bit awkward but the situation itself is not unpleasant, and even Bryld seems quite relaxed after all.

Last night we went to a new LGS for some EDH: Holy shit why does MtG attract some of the worst social autism ever?

>Everytime Sliversguy plays a card, Tubby goes "OH GAWD NOT SLIVERS HOLY SHIT DEAR LORD WHAT THE FUCK WHY SO BAD SOMEONE KILL THAT!" at the top of his lungs

Poor kid had enough trouble finishing sentences but this tubby's deck had no real wincon, just card draw and counters: He spent every turn taking over people and yelling out cringeworthy things
I'd like to play a game where people dont spend 55 mins bullshitting with "memeing it up" and dont have anything better to do than be a dick.
