There are no signs of movement below, any bandits that are around probably somewhere within the comfort of the hulking husk. You notice Victoria's posture and walk flowing to the rhythm of the Concerto Cricket's theme. Odette walks over to the pond and dips down, filling waterskins. Fuse trots over to the water's edge and takes long slurping laps of the water, much to Victoria's chagrin as she visibily shakes at the Wolf's drinking habits.

“That. Is. Disgusting.” She states with her wide eyes locked on the Dire wolf just as Fuse finishes drinking, only to raise a leg to start vigorously scratching behind an ear, sending tufts of fur everywhere.

Have you ever had a monster yell in a dungeon? Or fought someone? Or thrown alchemists fire? Or SONIC spells?

Same principle, because your DM wants to give you a fair chance. Same reason they are standing in groups of manageable numbers and not leaving their dungeon when you take a rest. Same reason they have enough food stockpiles to lasts for weeks so you can't poison them.

>When not in use, this Stand appears as a tattoo of an eye on the user's forehead. When its power is activated, the tattoo fades and is covered up by a tattooed cross.
>「Third Eye Blind」's power, as its name suggests, allows the user to "close their third eye", shutting off the ability to see Stands. In exchange for this, the user will no longer be affected by Stands - physical attacks will bounce off them harmlessly, they'll push Stands that attempt to touch them out of the way without even feeling them, and Stand abilities will fail to affect them.
>The biggest downside to this ability is that the user can still be affected by other physical objects affected by others' Stands - for instance, if a Stand picked up a rock and threw it at Third Eye Blind's user, it would hit them just as it would a normal person.

Some examples of how Stands would affect the user:

>Heirophant Green's Emerald Splash would fizzle out against the user. If Heirophant Green attempted to tie Third Eye Blind's user up with its body, it would be pushed out of the way whenever the user tried to move.
>The Fool, to contrast, would be entirely able to affect TEB's user, since it forms a body out of physical material.
>Set wouldn't do anything to TEB's user; they'd just ignore its effect.
>Khnum, as it alters Oingo's face rather than affecting others, would not be ignored by TEB's user; they would see it the same way others would.

Rene is... Filled with conflicted emotions at the moment. One of her own subordinates managed to convince the second-most-powerful person in the Central region, also a friend of hers, to undermine direct orders to kill enemies of the Empire. Their intents were pure, but purity is hardly a virtue worth espousing. Meanwhile, she's also filled with hard-to-contain happiness over recent mutual revelations with her beloved Cicero. Still, romantic thoughts are hardly any excuse to overlook her duties... She is faced with quite a dilemma, in short.

As her father, Waldrick, calls literal boatloads of warriors East, there are naturally less available to fight in Holmstead. Samson, Marion, Fabrice, and the rest all hope dearly that this will be enough for their attempt to wrestle the city-state back from the Gerxel to work. Lady Hera still watches over its people with her elite axe-users, after all. Samson, playing an innocuous tune for the people of Holmstead, even cheekily ending the performance with a dedication to the departing Imperials, internally laments his final days of normalcy.

Dyrus and his merry gang of freedom fighters, meanwhile, has finally begun to cheer up from the death of Gerard now that they've made it to Darton. Biff and Byron, citing themselves as having the most worldly experience bar maybe Darren, volunteer themselves to seek out the Lords of Chance. By rumor, they pretty much own half the town with how much service they've provided it, so the red-green knights suggest they look around areas of the town selling weaponry and the like.
