Though the Empire does make things a little harder on Samson's precious little life, as does the fact that everything his family didn't bring with them had been pilfered from the house they now share with five more people than once before, things do return to some sense of normalcy as he pretends to be back to living his civilian scholarly life, often singing and gathering information in taverns with Millicent's help. Imperial soldiers expect to be shipped back East to deal with rebels, and from there the plan will begin.

Speaking of these more organized rebels, Dyrus and the rest of his gang sail towards Darton, still heavy of heart at the utterly preventable loss of Gerard, but coping nonetheless. They're certain he wouldn't want them to dwell on that sort of thing. Winona and Belle have taken to speaking more, filling the hole in the purple-headed flier's conversational quota, though she doesn't seem terribly pleased with the girl's insistence that she'd seen her somewhere before they met... Dyrus, meanwhile, is just excited to give Director Waldrick what-for! He won't let any more of his friends fall to the forces of evil like Augustus or Gerard!

In Arsiv Oasis, specifically the Tower of Longevity, Rene, Veiz, and the rest of the gang study between Vautou-repelling missions. Veiz is taking to dark magic quite well, though still refusing to actually break it out until she considers herself sufficiently skilled enough in both bow and book. Stories of the Resistance rallying support along the coastline have reached Director Waldrick's daughters, especially since he's to be personally handling the reins of a planned siege on Darton once the rebels arrive there, but it does not concern Rene or Veiz. It's not as though their father would ever lose to such people.

The castle is bustling with it's usual morning activities, and is too busy to notice a certain man lounging in the cafeteria. He sips at his cup nonchalantly, and disappears into the background noise.
Which is completely unnoticed, except for one girl. She wears a shrine maiden's outfit, and has a head and tail of blonde hair. It probably help that she was searching for him to begin with.

"There you are."
"Ey, Suki." You greet Atsuko. She has a look on her face between annoyed and concerned.

You are Jack Albator, great adventurer, wonderful leader, and you love a drink of brandy in the morning. That's exactly what you're awake for right now. You had such a great victory last night, that you decided to let the other heroes, princesses, and tenants of the castle sleep in late while you just took the day off to relax.

After all, it's not every day that you foil almost three separate evil plans in a day. If there's anything left of your enemy, they must be scared senseless at this very moment.

Everything can wait, while you enjoy this victory.

"So, what brings ye here?" You smile at her, but you already know her answer.
"Just wanted to know why you didn't come back to the shrine last night." She crosses her arms, "I heard something happened at Charlotte's dinner party, and suspected you were involved."

"Ye'd be correct to think that."

"In any case," her ears twitch, "Just wanted to make sure you were still in one piece."
"AW, that's sweet of ye, Lass."

"But more importantly-" She points to you, "Dust that brown fur off your undershirt before someone sees it."

>Heh, secret's out, huh?
>Don't mention it, but do dust the fur off.
>So, whatcha up to today, Suki?
>We should get the kids together, do somethin' fun.

The fae in my game never stop going on about free will. Even the evil ones usually dont attack the characters, they just accuse them of "following plans" and "only doing what others tell them to" then they give them quests, which afterwards they berate them for doing as "soulless lackeys so far devoid of creativity or the self they can only be called pale mimics of life".

One hundred and twenty six years have passed since the death of the old world, and the birth of the age of monsters. And though the new washes over the old like a great rushing river of change, embers and memories of the past still struggle to exist and remain relevant in these times. This new world one is one drenched in danger and death, But when was it ever not? It's simply life for those living in it, the way it has been, and will probably continue to be for as long as even the undying eyes can see.

From the ashes of the old, new countries grow and flourish like roses grown upon a grave, extending their reach and claiming the right of age in the freshly born world. However, non are more successful than the kingdom of Brausrburge, which shines like a veritable beacon in the dawn of monsters. No really knows why it's succeeded so wonderfully, perhaps because it welcomes men and monsters with open arms? Maybe because its ruler is one of the first monsters to stalk the world? As said before, no one truly knows why, but its actually quite a lovely place, so long as you can stand bumping elbows with flesh eating monstrosities and gibbering, twisted abominations born and given life from death.

And as lovely as it is, shining like a lantern in the shroud of midnight, every light casts a shadow. And the brighter the lighter, the darker the shadows it sends crawling along the floors and walls like so many skittering rodents. And dark indeed is the shadow cast by Brausrburge, especially in the capital of the same name.

For under its streets, in its fetid sewers and musty forgotten tombs stained with dried blood and filth, another candle lit atrocity occurs, beneath the feet of men and monsters. And perhaps, something even worse than either
....
"Oooooh" A man in an almost neon green cloak said excitedly, clapping his hands together "Yessss, it begins...can you not smell the thick sin in the air my brothers and sisters?"

The candles laid about the small circular room flickered on an impossible wind, as five other men and women turned towards the man, who's skull like face almost seemed to glow in the weak fire light.

"Ooooh it's making my bones tingle, and my teeth rattle, I can barely contain my excitement and jooooy" He shout happily, holding his hands together as if in prayer, before a figure wearing a dark, almost black, purple robe walked up behind him.

And with a sound like bark breaking and bending, rose her hand, smacking him to the floor with a loud, almost whip like crack.

"Silence fool" She growled, roots and branches retreating back into her oversized sleeves "We still have work to do if we want to make our dead line, just because we've gathered the Sin already doesn't mean we can celebrate already, the sacrifice must be made with out interruption if we're to finish this, before SHE gets here"

The man whimpered on the floor, his companions giggling and laughing at his misfortune as the leader of the coven glared at them with eyes made of glowing amber

"Oh, you think it's funny? if we're even a second late in completing this ritual, the brausr will rip us to pieces so tiny, there won't even be enough of us left to fill a thimble" The Woman, if you could call it such, growled angrily, roots creeping out from the bottom of her robes "Now return to your spots on the markers so we can finish this already...please tell me you've at least gotten the sacrifice ready?"

"Oh..oh yes We have ehehe" the whimpish man in green giggled madly, nodding as he walked away, half hunched over.

[]An innocent, if slightly strong headed girl, Her family sold her to be able to feed their other children *You're female. +1 Potential*
[]A boy turned in by the police for an unspoken crime, doesn't know what's going on and is scared witless *You're Male +1 Willpower*
[]A variety of people, beasts and monsters *It switches, as your "Soul" is patchwork at the best of times, +1 guile, but you're a little "off"*
.

Strength = how strong and mighty you are.
Agility = Nimblness/ speed/ dexterity.
Resilience = How much of a beating you can take, and general defensive ability
Willpower = the force of your will

Potential= Magical power, how strong your Magic is, and also the width of what you can do with it.
Potential also effects your supernatural abilites, Any demon worth their snuff should have a few points in this at the very least,
however with sin abilities *supernatural abilites unique to your chosen sin*, you can use the sins' favoured stat in place of it

Guile = How easy it is for you to come up with solutions/ figure things things out
Senses= How honed and sharpened your various senses are

Also thinking up a system to reward fan art....maybe, who knows

What kind of invention would we need to make mechs realistic?
320 posts and 46 images submitted.
>>
Huge arcologies that are basically an entire city in one building.

When you need to fight inside one of those then small mechs or power armour become useful.
>>
>>46773797
It's not the technology, it's the usage.
You unfortunately used the word "realistic" which means that you won't be able to have mechs. You've seen the arguments so many times that I won't rehash them here, but on the modern and future battlefield mechs are an idea that won't work. Mechs =/= realism.

In a support role they might work for cargo lifting and logistics, but combat, no.

There aren't too many middle-easterners writing for RPGs. They're either from the UK or North America, and they don't have much, if any, experience with those sorts of cultures, mythology, tropes, etc. They write what they know.

Status report:
The Pajit have regrouped their remaining warships off Kayans. Their land forces have launched offensives against us on various fronts - Bridgemark, Tarasil, Pirusat, Cloudgazer, Jamatun and the Krushid desert.
We have 5 armies and the fleet at our disposal to match the enemy. Every border region has raised its militia forces and is ready to defend against the enemy, but a dedicated assault by a professional army is likely to overwhelm the local defenders sooner or later.
Our allies are still preparing their forces, but the Sigbru have raised a large army in a critical position, ready to fight.
Valaster's army:20k pros,30k militia
Tripaneus:26 kpros 6k militia
Yolten:30k pros,30k militia
Luffer:24k pros 22k militia
Sigbru army:50k warriors(armed with mostly modern tech)
High Admiral's fleet: 13 Ships of the Line, 7 frigates

Well OP, the first thing you need to do is read the rules to at least 50 unrelated RPG systems. Let us know when you get done with that, and give us the full list.
>>
>>46770366
The only people who write new systems are the ones who don't know what already exists. Games have become a complex subject. You don't reinvent the wheel, you mix dynamics you like and invent mechanics that resolve them fast and seamlessly. Reinventing DnD is the mark of a nub who is wasting everyone's time.

The only reason to start from scratch is extreme minimalism, like in one page games. And those must focus on a specific thing. See Viral's games.

So how come most popular fantasy settings are rubbish and feel poorly thought out compared to Hyboria? I mean - Hyboria seems like a much more credible place. The cultures seems less like persistent stereotypes despite originally being created by a huge misanthrope and the mythology in the world actually seems like mythology to the people that live there.
