Dear /tg/,

I'm looking for the set of tools to maintain the top quality level of soundscapes for my Warhammer Fantasy roleplay campaign incoming next year. I'd prefer to have all the things offline, on my hard drive.

What I need are your suggestions for:

- the best players/mixers where I can modify the intensity of individual tracks (like here: http://rpg.ambient-mixer.com/fantasy-town---varvale) and load my own tracks,
- the best fantasy/medieval-ish sound packs (with soundscapes, like crowd banter, animal sounds etc. and individual, short sounds, like sword clash, thunder etc.).

No need for music, that's really easy to get.

Also, feel free to add whatever you seem to fit.

There's a fresh new system coming out here at my country "Jornada RPG" it's has mechanics for localized damage without the use of hit points. Plus it has no levels, or classes. It's sounds like a mess, but I've playtest it.

It's so good.

I've never felt so much freedom with a ruleset before, it is so complex and so simple, their worldbuilding suck ass but the system is another level. Levels, hit points, classes, armor penalty (armor irl is not as restrictive as D&D represents it), it all looks like a bunch of bullshit for me.

I wonder, if there's any gems you guys know that are not mainstream, or only in you country... I wonder now how much good ideas are out there...

Before anyone asks, it uses a 3d6 system for tests, their reasoning is that wih more dices more chances of balanced results hence less chance of extreme results, rewarding players more on their modifiers/skills than on their luck.

The system itself make it obligatory for you to find creative ways to fight your enemies, you can't just keep attacking something over and over like in D20 , since it will use creative ways to kill you, player have to fight smart, you can't just bash your sword on someone with armor on that body part expecting results, unless you got some kind of over-human strenght, (wich is attainable very easily actually) something simple like "I attack this point to cause x" is so much more satisfying than "I attack".

Especially when you got the rules to back it up.

Sup /tg/. I have a question about settings; am I the only one who likes settings where it's a mixture of modern and medieval elements? Like pic related; modern aesthetics, with medieval weaponry and tactics for combat, shit like that. I don't know why, but it tickles me in ways a lot of other settings don't. I feel like I'm the only one who likes this.

No melee or psychic phases. It's all shooting, all the time, and no slouches in toughness or mobility. Some of the bigger selling points are their use of battlesuits and markerlights. Battlesuits almost all have the Fly keyword, so they can fall back from CC and shoot, and they can take a wide variety of weapons as well as support systems (which do stuff ranging from -1 AP for all weapons, +1 to hit in Overwatch, and rerolling 1s when shooting all weapons at the same target).Plus, y'know, battlesuits are cool.

Markerlights are another specialty, where they can shoot weapons that instead of damaging, place a counter on the target unit, up to 5. Any Tau unit shooting at said target gets a bonus determined by the number of markerlights hit, from rerolling 1s to +1 to hit. Word of advice, though, in 8th ed prices are considered with a "markerlight tax", meaning that a lot of units are priced a bit higher than their alternate army equivalents due to the assumption that they'll be running markerlights. Additionally, for the most part these replace the ubiquitous aura buffs of other armies.

Also, people will hate you. Tau were cheesy and OP (specific units, that is) from 5 to 7, and people still hate them based on that. Those that don't will hate you based on the fluff, because muh grimdark. But if you like mechs, shooting and idealism, go right on ahead.

So this guys ability has had me stumped for the past bit. Lets say, for example, there are three of these guys out. If I played a single spirit creature, would I only be able to tap one or three creatures an oponent controls?

Whenever you see a card's name on a card in magic, unless it specifically says 'a card named WHATEVER', it always refers to that particular instance of that card alone and can be replaced with the words 'this card'
With three copies of Nebelgast Herald, you have three copies of 'Whenever this card or another Spirit enters the battlefield under your control, tap target creature an opponent controls', thus each one triggers when a Spirit enters (including a fourth Nebelgast Herald, which will trigger itself as well.)

I play a bitter goblin bard in an evil campaign.
Perform as a buffoon as expected when needed, but is bitter as hell that his talent won't ever be recognise because "goblin". He may very well be wrong though, but will probably never realise it.
Does that count?

I read a really great copy pasta, posted years ago, about a rogue that was doomed to be a paladin. He tried to steal the bejeweled and shining suit of armor that a great paladin had worn long ago. As a result his every attempt at theft and general no goodery resulted in him saving some one or committing some great kindness in glorious fashion.

I've been running the numbers, and it looks like the range, power, and armor-piercing of guns makes everything else useless except cavalry swords and pikes. Axes were already underpowered. Is anyone else concerned?
