>Thread Question: Do you or anyone in your play group have a mono brown deck? What is good or bad about it?
No, but one in my group is building a Mayael the Anima eldrazi themed deck and i expect it to rape
Well I dunno about EDH but it seems like Legacy Merfolk might be getting some toys.

>Do you or anyone in your play group have a mono brown deck?
I have Karn and my friend has Kozilek 2.0
>What is good or bad about it?
His can be very slowly because of the lack of good rocks in his deck, and my Karn can feel very battlecruiser sometimes, in that I sometimes need to play a lot of defense before I can start mass animating and swinging
Alright, so in a reversal of the usual "Doomguy in 40k" threads, this time it's Doom Hell invading the 40k setting.
Assume that all of the various WAD's count as canon for Hell. What happens?
Does hell include all of the guardsmen that die cause they could be worse than the tyrannids number wise if Every human that died joined them?
>>55127819
NuDoom already has Argent Energy which converts normal humans into possessed if they get hit by a wave of the stuff. Making it so that every falength human joins them would just make the numbers even more insane, especially since this is a fusion of every WAD.
>>55127907
It is like plaguebearers then?
ok so a thread last night made me decide that there should be a Undertale RPG or a Undertale rule set, something simple like the Mario RPG.
anyone wanna help out? this is actually something I wanna get off the ground because I think people would really appreciate it, but I have no idea/experience with making systems/homebrews
>>55127390
Holy fuck no.
Like cringey fanbase aside, this game is only interesting because of how it plays with genre conventions and video game rpgs as a medium. Removing Undertale from that context is incomprehensibly retarded. CWC-tier fan fiction retarded.
Saging this mess

How many miles can you go per day?
>>55127367
Depends on terrain. I can get a lot farther on nice flat roads than I can when I go hiking in the mountains.
>>55127367
all the miles
>>55127367
Well, I'm going a little over five thousand miles next Monday, so there's one figure.

I go apeshit.
You read the title, tell me about the characters that if the players or characters in game knew the whole story, they'd kill them.
>>55126305
The character that comes to my mind is the one I'm playing now, a doctor/chemist named reed.
Reeds on the run from The mob for accidently killing their mob boss when he needed heart surgery, after being in the employ of the mob for decades. Having been exposed to the authorities, they charge him with organ, fluid, and skin harvesting, (literally keeping people in cages with ivs and tubes in them so they would regenerate the lost fluid/organ/skin) illegal bio augments, as well as manufacture of various illegal substances. This forces him to flee into the wastes, leaving behind his family two dozen in hiding while he searches for a place for them to stay.
So far ive played it off as a eccentric southern doctor with a bit of a drug problem, and a deep love of his children.
A wandering story teller who is bitter that many heroes are forgotten and distributes forbidden magics and magic weapons to sow conflict and give rise to more heroes.
>>55126305
The fallen BIG BAD EMPIRE officer who still has a part of that BIG BAD EMPIRE in his heart.
We're playing as space pirates.

Planning on using it for a neo-weird/Conanesque Sword & Sorcery campaign next spring
Say what you will about FFGs bullshit dice, sometimes ita nice to not deal with numbers
<- All you need to know right here.
I've been struggling with how to make my Chaos Space Marines "My Guys." Then I had an idea.
A previously fleet-based chapter led by a Chapter Master who had a major hate boner for a specific Daemon Prince. He pursued this being across XYZ sector, ultimately being driven mad by his inability to capture and slay the Daemon. (Maybe not a Daemon, but something else).
Basically, space Ahab. Thoughts?
Not bad. You can substitute daemon for void whale if you want to make it obvious, but daemon might be better for 40k
>>55126187
Could be a specific Tyranid, which would probably fit the idea of the whale better than a Daemon Prince.
>>55126860
I'm only thinking not a Daemon because I don't want them to loath chaos (I want to try a Renegade possessed list).
Maybe he was hunting a specific Tyranid hive tyrant and in a fit of madness called upon the ruinous powers.
What should I make for D&D? I am able to use wood. I don't really want to make dice because they have to be exact. I can make other things though, I just don't know what to make.
sleek, small dice towers. If you can make tiny things; real wooden tables, boxes, barrels, and wagons. It would be a bit niche, but if its high quality, you'd get some sales there.
maybe dice boxes?
>>55126099
I have a design in mind. I might do it.
>>55126066
Start making a chess set with fantastical pieces, hand them out when the players get cool treasure, see how long it takes for them to figure it out.
How would a sentient humanoid slime character work as a PC?
>>55125914
Probably a lot of this and it would just be a burden on the other players.
Also magical realm.
>>55125914
There are plenty of homebrew races for it. Some are really busted, others are balanced.
Full plate to hide the fact that you're a monster?
Infiltrator to take advantage of your form?
Barbarian for close quarters engulfing?
Warlock to serve the Quivering Overmind?
Cleric of the God of Slimeof which you are the only sentient follower?
>sees pic
Charismatic bard from your Magical Realm?
Depends on the setting, just like every other character.

These ever happen to you?
What was Sam's level here?
I thought the entire point of the hobbits was that they were nothing special, unlike the rest of the fellowship which was filled with special snowflakes.
>>55125258
People can achieve impressive feats when they're trying to save people they care about.
Probably about 5 or 6, mostly gets roleplay XP.
>>55125258
Tolkien characters don't work on levels. Heroes get stronger the more virtues they are.
Rolls are 1d10+skill+attribute.
A character has a pool of "stamina points" derived from attributes. Instead of difficulty modifiers (+2,-4,etc.), difficult tasks cost an x ammount of stamina points, and things that help reduce the cost.
If you don't/can't pay the ammount of points, you throw 2d10, and pick lower.
However, if you manage to drop the stamina cost into the negatives, you get to roll 2d10 and pick the higher.
How fucking retarded does this sound?
that doesn't sound retarded at all.
I`d say that difficulty modifiers should still exist, for example if you manage to drop the stamina cost not only into the negatives, but rather into the double digit negatives. That would make sure that high level characters rarely fail very basic tasks while very difficult tasks will be harder to do for low level characters, without making them impossible
>>55124842
So long as the rules present it well enough it seems like it could be pretty fun. A combination of a couple of tried-and-tested central mechanics.
What sort of breakdown would you have for skills and attributes? Have an idea of how physical conflict would work?
>>55125162
What do you mean by breakdown?
Short description: Few attributes with ranks 1-5, a lot of skills with ranks 1-10, attributes give you a nice round ability, but you need to invest in skills to really shine in your area.
For physical conflict I have a lot of ideas, but related to the earlier post, I was planning for a lot of different kinds of maneuvers, feints, power attacks, stabbing through the visor, all sort of things, that give you different kinds of benefits to your attack. Different kinds of maneuvers would probably also use different traits, maybe even different skills.
Depening on the maneuver they also increase the stamina cost you have to pay attacking. Maneuvers would resolve in an opposed roll, with some defensive maneuvers being an option too.
If the attacker wins, damage is dealt.
Take enough damage, your stamina costs start to increase, and have to pay for even easier things related to the wound.
