Filter Tripfags and do a group build edition
>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or people's homebrew wargames. /hwg/ doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to very specific games, so this thread isn't tied to a game, or a genre, lets talk about fun wargames.
Any scale, any genre, any company, any minis. Skirmishers welcome. Rules designers welcome.
>Examples of games that qualify
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_miniature_wargames
Grimdark Future, Age of Fantasy, Mighty Armies, Dragon Rampant, Of Gods and Mortals, Frostgrave, Hordes of the Things, Songs of Blades and Heroes, Freebooter's Fate, Dark Age, LotR and anything that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread (gorkamundheim).

Since people were interested in a group build last thread I'd like to propose the theme "Monster". It's flexible enough that you can do almost anything and make it monsterous, but it's also a good theme to pick up a really cool model or something a bit more challenging than usual.
I would look at starting in 1-2 weeks and have it run for a month. Too many group builds end up messing around forever and people lose interest. Better to strike while the irons hot and get it moving

I'm up for that.

I think I might have a go at building some sort of shambling undead abomination made from a bunch of skeleton bits and whatever else I can find laying about.
Now I just gotta figure out where I can get some reasonably cheap plastic skellies to dismember and experiment on. Currently I'm thinking either some Mantic skeletons or the Frostgrave undead encounters skellies.
Dyson spheres, ring worlds, city planets, stellar engines, moon sized starships, and whatever other crazy cosmic engineering projects you have pictures of.
Discussion is also encouraged.

Is there an RPG for Muslims?
>>55139283
Yeah, they're the same ones that everyone else uses. If you have a problem with not being religious enough you can design your own. I'd say there are ones already but apparently making games is Haram.
How would it work?
Don't they have rules against depicting humans?
>>55139283
Figured we get Space Marine Chapter creation threads and IG Regiment creator threads every now and again, but I haven't seen an Order creation thread in a long time. Anyone care to help me roll up some fluff for an order of Sisters?
Give me a d10 do determine what major order we derived from if you are interested.

Lore Bard.
>>55138222
Paladin is quite fun if you just want to purge evil
plus you get to have the whole knightly vibe and be the face with your high charisma and good reputation
>>55138222
I had lots of fun with a warrior cleric.
How would an evil version of The Culture look like?

Just like it does? I mean they can't really stand any other type of culture then their own and go out of their way to make any other they come across like them by hook or by crook.
tyranny would be a fantastic setting. intrigue, politics, moral dilemmas, an amazing world.
What system would be great for this?
>>55131505
if were being boring here, DnD. but im sure some other Fantasy RPG could work.
I'd love to explore more of the Tyranny world, and a Tyranny TTRPG or TTRPG setting would be loads of fun.
The real question isdoes Kyros have a dick or a vagina?

What is it with people not understanding the Idea that you can quite literally be forced to do something without being enslaved by magic or some shit? And why is that adventurers mainly seem to believe this?
To the common adventuring murderhobo, things are very black and white. You're either with them or against them, you're either good or evil. No one is worth mercy if they work with the bad boy.
>>55130476
We understand, we just don't give a shit about your cliche method of giving people "depth"
>>55130541
This. I would literally do a 360 and walk away from the game if some overbearing moralizing GM wants to pigeonhole me into a shitty overdone moral dilemma.

Have you or your any of your party members evermade food from monsters?
>>55130458
Of course;and people.
>>55130458
Having played in an all Lizardman party before, it's not so much that we "made food from monsters" as it was all of our enemies were simply food that hadn't learned to stop twitching yet.

In D&D terms, he's basically a super ancient dragon+, with triple breath weapons. I imagine, mechanically, he'd operate as something like an ancient red, but with force damage+telekinetic rays instead of a fire cone, with bumped up HP and universal damage resistances/immunities.
What's your D&D 5e tierlist?
SS- Wizard
S- Mystic, Warlock
F- Everything else
I'm assuming you're not concerned with fun, since you brought up a tier list

I'm not going to pay my archer less because a mix of darkness and short sight lines made him less useful this time. I'm not going to pay my doctor less because none of ours were seriously injured and his special skills weren't needed. I'm sure as hell not going to pay a man less because he gave up any chance for glory to be the one that took a hammer and spike to a locked door so we could continue.

I don't think your GM understands alignments very well
Just set her up with the baker, senpai. Be the Paladin of Love, learn the Cupid Smite.
Where do you start your adventures? Ye olde tavern?
I'm trying to come up with very different places that I can use repeatedly that are not necessarily taverns
>>55123900
Jail.
Also, "Adventure in progress".
escaping capture
on the road
entering town
setting sail
waking up from camping
at a brothel
Session zero. Get your players together and ask what they want and expect from the game, who their characters are and why they'd work with each other, what things they have in common and what connections you can draw.
From session zero, you'll always know exactly where to start your campaigns to give your players plenty of options to have fun and get invested in setting stuff right from word go, giving you a lot of easy ways to progress things without tying the players to any single route.

>>55123110
No, because he has simple and easily understood maivations.
>>55123110
Most certainly. Just gonna re-post this statement by one guy about some of his bullshit, in regards to how becoming a Nasuverse Servant would be a DOWNGRADE for him:
>"I'd actually say that being a servant would be a downgrade considering the bullshit Kirby gets up to in the cartoon, like when he throws a giant monster in a giant pan with enough force to not only achieve escape velocity, but also slingshot around the sun and return with the monster fully cooked."
