Honestly, they aren't really that good, just to be realisitic. It take a lot of time to figure out composition, exposure, editing, etc. But never be discouraged. Take a look at pic related. I started taking photography seriously in 2009, working as an assistant photographer and sports photographer, I was still learning the basics of my camera and photo editing. In 2011 I really started working on perfecting my photography abilites after I had figured out the basics of the camera, composistion and whatever else.
What you need to do is watch some tutorials on youtube to figure out the tools for editing RAW photos (shoot raw if you have a camera that can do that) and check out popular photos on flickr, and instagram to get inspiration for your own photos.
And obviously get out and shoot as much as you can

I got an actual camera a RebelT5 about a week ago. Also how the fuck do I get my wide angle lens off my camera it seems to have stuck on the zoom lens not sure if the threading is crewed or what any experience with this?
Shallow depth of field is a meme perpetrated by the photo industry so they can sell expensive lenses. There are literally dozens of ways to isolate subjects.
It's the laziest thing in the world to just buy an expensive lens and blow everything out of focus that's not the subject. It can be done tastefully if the out of focus bits are thoughtfully composed as well, but genererally most people think it's just a wildcard and the background becomes "invisible" if they just bokeh the shit out of it.
Save money, learn composition. FUCK
>>2840954
this

>>2840954
Clients like bokeh as much as photogs do, and sometimes you're stuck in a location where there's no other good way to isolate a subject, like a packed event or a football field.
I make use of shallow DoF because I often shoot in places where even when I'm directing the subject, the choices are between a busy background or a bland wall, and taking that busy background and turning it into f/1.4 cream makes for a more attractive photo than somebody backed up to bare concrete block.

People complaining about it are just as annoying as those overusing it.

It's just so /k/-tier tacticool operator jargon.
"What do you carry when shooting?"
Photography's been my personal passion for about eight years (I'm 22) but I have a pretty diverse range of shots to share. It's a random collection of photos I've taken over the years.
I don't know if a have a unified "style," but every photo is a conscious effort toward capturing a feeling or moment.
I rarely get any feedback or critique. This is my first thread on /p/, let me know what you think.
This first shot was a night portrait of my roommate, a horticulturist. He was only lit by these orange sodium grow lights in the greenhouses, but I managed to color-correct.

Try Supreme facebook groups or hit up Reddit for resell sites. You'll pay a lot for it though.
My advice is to not buy it at all though. Firstly, it's a fuckign sefie stick. It's retarded anyway. And to make it worse, it's heavily branded by Supreme. They make nice clothes but anything with the huge logo prints is just distasteful and pointless... You're literally falling for a meme brand.
>>2844580
u just dont understand the lifestyle senpai
Seriously though, probably the only reason you want a Supreme selfie stick is because it says SUPREME on it.
>>2844584
i suppose it comes down to an individual's taste.. many people i know who were at some point really into supreme got into lesser known brands later on and sort of regret that phase. i guess that can kind of put it into context better
ITT: Post photos that should have been shit but, due to some random thing happening during the exposure or the developing/post-processing, it become somewhat interesting...

dunno if this applies, lol.

Is this your series? Good job, you captured the process quite well. Although, I think there are way too many images, you should have just picked the best of the best that were needed to tell the story. Some individual photos aren't really that interesting too but as a series they all work together. It's sad /p/ will have 300+ reply shill gear threads and ignore something like this.

Fantastic OP!
I really enjoyed this, good job OP. Cheers mate
what up. I have been a photographer for a while now and have gone through hundreds of thousands, probably millions of actuations with slrs and dslrs. One of my close friends (also photog) brought something up to me that had never even crossed my mind after all of these years. slrs and dslrs are loud. We all know that characteristic cha-chunk that they make (though each model has it's own satisfying, unique sound). I mean, we get used to it after a while but after taking a step back, that shit is loud. Anyways, he was asking me if constantly putting a loud sound like that near your ears (up to your face) could affect your hearing over time. I don't know what to make of this. Have any of you hear of photogs using loud ass slrs getting hearing loss? I haven't noticed anything myself, but that doesn't mean anything.
