I know a decent amount about mushrooms but I have a question.

I loosely inoculated a plot (by that I mean I threw some extra colonized jars in a plot) with some shiitake and it started to fruit some mushrooms. But whats odd is that they don't look like shiitake to me. Can anyone help me conform what it is?

Hi /out/,

I have a bit of a problem. Ever since I started browsing /k/ I've been wanting to go innawoods, despite the fact that I can't take guns with me. The problem is that I live in the netherlands, and we have basically no good places to go innawoods, so I was thinking of going to Scandinavia, probably Finland. Is this possible? Can you go innawoods in another country or is it illegal?

No you can't unless you are either a Finn or are accompanied by one that is an adult and behaves like one. So again, nopes

Bring a woolen cloak. It can shield you from rain, be a blanket, and even a tarp if need be.
>>
Listen to me dammit!!

Go buy some flushable wet wipes for pooping. Your ass will thanks you.
>>
Bring 1 gallon of water per day
Bring snacks
Bring extra emergency underwear
Bring TP and wet wipes
Bring weed/alcohol
Bring A GOOD CHAIR
Bring a few trashbags, like 3.
Hang your food up in tree away from camp if in an area with big wildlife ie bears
Bring firestarter kits if you are completely retarded at firemaking
Bring marshmellows, graham crackers and chocolate
Bring a spoopy story book for lulz
Bring a mess kit & utensils, roll of paper towels. Paper towels could help in firemaking
Bring a football maybe or nerf ball
At night you can put your clothes in the bottom of your sleeping bag to keep feet warmer and to have warmer clothes when you put them ok in morning.
If youre making a fire pit, clear all leaves and shit from area, make a circle large stones and build fire inside. Bigger your stone circle is the /comfier/ it'll be

Turn off phones
Dont play music

Most importantly, have fun.

I never lost any but i wouldn't doubt others have. But really who cares about your 20 dollar sleeping pad. And if you strap anything more than that to the outside of your pack you are doing it wrong.

Not a regular on this board but your the only place I know to turn to so congrats you can help me with my problem.

Now, here's whats up:
The city I live in has decided due to fire danger that everybody has to chop down roughly 2/3 of they're trees
I own 5 acres of dence lush forest which serves as a home to deer, bears, elk, rabbits, songbirds exctera
Plus loads of wild flowers and other vegetation.

I've seen places where they've already thinned and it's horrific.

They leave the largest trees but chop down just about everything else. Which raises the question if you always chop down all the young trees because theyre "latter fuels" then when the older trees die what's going to replace them?

The due date for having the work done is coming up and if I'm not in compliance I'm fined 1000$ a day.

I feel like I'm being fucked in the ass here and I figure that this isn't good for the forest either. Plus the parts they've thinned are ugly as shit.

So help me /out/ pls tell me that there's something I can do to save the forest. Is what theyre doing even fucking legal!??!

Thanks anons.

Pic related is very similar to how the areas they're trimmed are.

Tell them they can buy the timber you are being forced to cut. Or that you can lawyer up and you can fight them in court.

Sorry but any respective first world country Cant legally make you do anything you don't want with your land. Thats dumb. Itt get a lawyer
>>
>forester here

You are causing significantly more harm not doing dick than they are doing cutting. They are doing what is called "seed tree regeneration", and is perfectly normal in forest management. Sure, the wildlife is displaces in the short term but will comes back. Results in a much healthier forest with more diverse structure/vegetation composition.

and its called "ladder fuels" not "latter", because they cause a ground fire to climb into the canopy, which is significantly worse and basically unstoppable from a firefighters point.

Yes, it looks like shit short term but put your feelings aside for the greater ecosystem.

and as >>760979, you should able to sell your timber or be receiving some sort of compensation
>>
>>760970

Hi /out/! Can we have a walking partners thread? Or perhaps a more general activity partner thread. I had a quick scan of the catalog and couldn't find anything where my post would fit.

I'm looking for a walking partner for the Camino ways. Thinking of going from Leon to Santiago which is a 2 week journey.

About me: I'm very new to physical activity but have been getting in shape over the past few months. Speed is slow to medium.
I intend to enjoy the sights and more importantly the food. Nice restaurants and all that. Don't mind slumming it in cheap hostels or even on the grass outside but will not skimp on food. Absolutely not interested in hooking up or anything of the sort but I am a nice gal and will do my best to look out for you. I'm a freshly graduated engineering student, moderately nerdy interests and a strong love of food and cooking. Can chatter on about the meaning of life and lobster or walk in companionable silence. I want to do this walk in May or June this year.

I will be monitoring this thread, alternatively you can contact me at the following:

You know Mt. St. Helens erupted not that long ago and there's records of what it was like, right?

Anyway, despite the quakes there's been no magma bulges or anomalous gas releases so the chance of an eruption is low. According to UW geologists the mountain is still "recharging" from the last one.

Get a 6,6" ugly stick
Get a plueger president spinning reel
Put on 8 lb monoline (I prefer spiderwire)
Get some Jig heads in 1/16th or 1/32 oz.
Get some Berkley powerbait curly tail grubs in 3" size. I have a lot of luck with natural chartreuse
Go to a river or lake.
Cast bait and retrieve.

Curl tail grubs mimic a lot of things a lot of fish eat. I have caught largemouth, smallies, bkluegill, trout and even hooked a muskie once all on curl tail grubs.

Tent thread? Tent thread.

I require a new tent to house me and the wife for a week long camping session in the UK, and possibly more following sessions.
I have an old 4 man tent that is very shit and leaky, and am aiming to replace it. I have a few requirements.

Essential:

>waterproof, ideally 3/4 seasons
>2 man or bigger, ideally bigger because gear space
>available from amazon uk because there is so much shipping and export fees if buying from freedomland

Desirable but not essential:

>cheap, £50 if possible but flexible about this
>lightweight/packable

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B016QS5NEC/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_17?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A5TS9209LDLO5

But I am hesitant because

>small space, ideally want bigger than 2 man
>not a brand I recognise
>sneaking suspicion it comes from the Orient

Any other recommendations? Links please.
