should i get a 2009 Ford Focus or one of the older model 2000-2007 ?
>>17529116
Assuming from the pic you're from europes I personally suggest the 2000' models with the TDDi engines. Mine has got 190k kilometers: in all its lifespan only two repairs: water pump at 152k and glow plugs at 169k. Feed her oil and she'll just go forever, with good mileage too (I do around 22-28 km/h depending on the season)
>>17529116
You should get a civic for 3k instead.

Anyone here a proud snitch?
Post tactics, hardware (dash cams etc), report websites
>dash cams
http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/g9/5-dash-cams-tested/
You can send dash cam footage of traffic violators to the police, people not using turn signals, people speeding etc... It won't get them convicted but they can be added to the police database and be pulled over "routinely"

This April we put together the first appalachian area /o/ meet, and it was a success. No one crashed, and a fiero died for our sins
For the end of the summer, we're going to be doing a meet at deals gap. The path has yet to be laid out, but most likely we will be starting on tail of the dragon and heading into the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest to hit the sweepers.

It's meant as a toy anyway
Convertible is actually BETTER at keeping warm in, than with steel roof.

Cops are wired to go after things that stick out from the norm. You out walking when everyone else is asleep? You're sticking out. You driving a car that looks different from the rest? You're sticking out.
They don't enforce the law so much as enforce social conformity. You can argue whether that's wrong or right, but that's the way it is.

Is planned obsolescence real in cars or it's just because it's easier for the owners to blame the manufacturer after they've properly neglected all the maintenance?
Attention whore test:
Imagine a world devoid of other humans.
If you wouldn't buy the same car in an empty world, with no one around to look at it, you're an attention whore.
Or maybe it's the opposite and I have social anxiety and don't buy certain cars because I can't handle the attention they'd get.

>Imagine a world devoid of other humans.
>If you wouldn't buy the same car in an empty world
where would you even be going? at that point who cares about a fucking car? its just a way to get from A to B.

Has anybody here imported vehicles from overseas? I am finding some very affordable cars in the middle east but it seems too good to be true, easily saving 70% for the same make/model
Anybody have any experience with this kind of stuff? i know there are fees/taxes and tariffs but i still believe there is decent savings to be made.
If your curious, im looking at Mercedes prices in Iraq , they are asking $5000 for very new low mileage cars
My cousin bought his infinity from his grandparents who lived in Hawaii. They had to send it on a boat. Does that count?
>>17528862
Just be sure to remove the gas bottles in the trunk first.
>>17528862
If it's on this list, feel free to contact an importer and have them do it for a fee. You're still probably saving a shit ton of money on the car if what you're saying is true. If it's not on the list, you're can't do it.
Keep in mind it will still probably have to be converted to US spec

Can't look away
Posting stranded from the literal middle of nowhere. I ran over a rock in my 2013 Ford Focus and now the parking brake won't disengage. It got rear drum brakes so it's a a bit harder to disassemble them. What I do? Can I just snip the cable off and drive to the nearest city to get it fixed? Thanks a lot for any helpful reply.
>>17528763
>Can I just snip the cable off and drive to the nearest city to get it fixed
basically. thats your best bet
>>17528763
You could do that - its going to have to be replaced anyways
Cut it in half, and then reset the arms on the drums manually with your hands if they're still stuck
>live in Canada
>shitty salty winters
>replace truck body
>back half of the frame is looking rough as hell
>rear spring hanger has a hole in it
Why would a spring hanger have a hole in it? Because gm made the spring hanger a place where water could sit plus the fact salty roads from Canadian winters rusted it out
If there was a small hole drilled in the hanger water would drain
>the truck won't see another winter on the road
I drilled a hole in the new spring hanger 1/4" should help drain water
Here's a photo of the truck (the 79' silver one)

you did paint over that didn't you?
Other wise you just made it worse.

New project idea for all the busriders
Would it be a bad idea to get a CPO 2015 Golf TDI? They seem to be going for about 16-18k and I think there's a 2 year warranty. I've wanted a tdi since before the diesel gate thing but I don't want to get a money pit should shit start breaking
>>17528496
Why? What do you drive now?
>>17528532
2005 Altima. I have a ~50 mile commute
>>17528544
You're not going to safe any money. Keep driving the altima
Post pictures of cars that you spotted that are not available in country. Does not include cars that were legally imported for consumer use. i.e cars imported under the US 25-year rule.
I saw this Type-R in Ohio, the dude said he worked for Honda, confirmed by the manufacturer plate. Excuse the aggressive censorship.
