Thanks but all of the hitches on etrailer and Curt's website for my car are 1 1/4, I need a 2"
>>13934121
2' Might be out of yer vehicles class.
You could nigger rig a 2" reciever to a 1.25 by chopping a stock 1.25 up and welding the 2 inch up to her. In that case I would try finding used components.
Or you could just buy one of those gay bike racks that have the ratchet straps for your tailgate.
TIME FOR FAT TIRES

How does buying a used car work?
I wan't to pay around 8-9k for one and have no credit. Will i have to take out a bank loan, or can i just show them my work stubs and they'll let me make payments?
>>13933721
Man
I'm happy I'm not this sheltered and retarded
It depends on the dealership many used car lots offer in house financing and will allow you to drive off paying 500-2500 down and showing pay stubs etc.

No srs
everyone tells me i need a cosigner, dat true?
Post your favorite compacts, both new and old
>>13933653
I like the look of the new mirage. Wouldnt buy one new tho. Maybe in 5 years when a used one is like 6k
>>13933653
Does this qualify as a compact? I know these things are gay as california aids but i cant help but like them
>>13933653

these are sub compacts though
>Mazda calls its variable nozzle turbocharging Dynamic Pressure Turbo technology.
>the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine can spool up more quickly at low rpm. The method works by sending exhaust air to the turbine through three smaller exhaust ports at low rpm, quickly creating boost pressure of up to 17.4 psi. Three larger ports open up via a flow control valve when the revs climb. Mazda describes the idea as putting your thumb on a running garden hose to restrict the water flow and increase the force of the stream, thus spooling up the turbo sooner.
>Mazda also uses a special method uncommonly seen in gas-powered passenger cars to keep engine temperature down at high load to prevent fuel enrichment, a cooled EGR. By using a special (and rather pricey) module to cool exhaust gas that’s recirculating through the turbo, the engine is able to reduce internal heat and thereby maintain an impressive 10:5:1 compression ratio. But the benefit will be seen more by consumers than the EPA testing lab, Mazda said.
Why didn't this exist sooner?
Now put it in an MX-5 and Mazda3.
>>13933648
>By using a special (and rather pricey) module to cool exhaust gas
that's why
>>13933674
That part doesn't actually do anything in EPA tests to increase fuel economy.
I mean the valves before the turbo to spool it up faster.
Sounds like it'll be expensive when it goes kablooey.
Americlap here, what's so good about these things?

It's a reliable, easy to fix, dirt cheap shitbox that doesn't try to be something that it isn't like most modern shitboxes. Plus it's cute af.
What are the pros and cons of the new Honda Fit?
>cons
Manufactured at a new facility in Mexico.
>>13933399
Its honda, so its bascially a washing machine with wheels.
Boring as fuck.
It's small, and wont get you laid.
However it gets gud mpg's its cheap and its a honda so unless you get one with an automatic, itll run forever.
>>13933402
that sucks!
Does anyone have any good educational resources for teaching yourself about cars?
the manual for your car bro
>>13933367
Experience. I bought a beater for cheap and just fucked with it. Learned alot by doing that. Shit like why properly grounding things is important, why back pressure in your exhaust is a good thing. I also apprenticed at a shop but that was kind of a fluke tho it couldnt hurt to go around to small shops and see if theyll hire you as a tech or some shit. Otherwise google and basic auto manuals

Check the clutch fluid. Does the car act odd when its in gear and going down the road? Noises, clutch slipping, etc...
When can i expect Fiesta ST's end up depreciating? I have a budget of about 15k for Daily driver in about 6 months to a year, they seem to be nice fun daily drivers. Is waiting for these to drop in price worth it?

Does /o/ approve of the turbo VW Beetle?
only if you mod it to make it quicker
its a vw so it will break anyway. may as well enjoy what little life it has
/o/ does not approve of anything VAG except maybe mk1 and mk2 GTIs.
>>13933068
I approve of it. It may not be reliable, but it certainly has a charm. I enjoyed the one I drove, but I didn't like the turbo lag. Were it me, I'd just get a base model 2.5L 5 cylinder model and mod that.

Paying high insurance to insure a new car
Not owning a now classic car from the 80s
Not paying a classic cars insurance rate
Keep being slave to high prices!!
>Paying for car insurance
Look all I'm saying is blasting down a snowy road in the mountain in a 1980s Audi is ten time Cooler than doing it in a 2000s car ok
The new cars have no soul and kinda just suck. It's like driving an iPad.
