What is your favourite wagon?
>>16451819
I fucking hate wagons.
But I understand why people have them.
Just beware you look like someone who has kids but is not mature enough to have saved up enough to buy a people carrier and a weekend car.

I found a 1961 Rambler American Convertible body
apparently only like 5k of them made
Looks just like pic related
I don't think I'll ever find an original engine, should I just put a small block chevy in it?

Also the steering is completely fucked
Missed the last one, but I bought this baby anyway.

Pic related, a 911 of some type...and what the heck is the VW looking thing?
VW is a Karmann Ghia, the Porsche is a 930 911. late 70s I think
>>16472453
I wanted to say it was a Karmann Ghia, but I've never seen one with a grille like that in the US.
>>16472453
i can tell by the bumper thats not a 930
its a 964. probably a base model Carrera with a turbo wing.
Hello /o/.
Parents gave me a 2000 Ford Expedition. They rarely drive it, so it only has 90k on the clock. However, the shocks are worn out, and the 1 side of the rear air springs are leaking.
How much am I looking at in terms of repairs? I can source all the parts myself, but I need a mechanic to do it, since I don't have tools.
Are these the ones that were flipping in that firestone ordeal?
>>16471988
Call a shop, literally. You need to physically call someone that you intend to have work on your car for the price of labor. This can change shop to shop, average is $100 an hour. Parts will vary depending on whether you can buy them yourself or if the shop has to buy them.
>>16472003
It was the Explorer (exploder). This thing never had Firestones iirc.
Assuming that the engine has a turbo, what if you remove the radiator and flush all coolant, and then plumb the turbo inlet into the engine's coolant outlet? Then put an air filter on the engine's coolant inlet.
This way the vacuum created by the turbo and the engine would pull air into the coolant inlet and through the engine's coolant passages. Of course an extra intercooler should be added before the turbo inlet which will cool the hot air being sucked out of the engine and into the turbo.
This assumes that it is a very simple engine with minimal electronics, such as an old diesel, and also that the coolant passages in the engine are wide enough to provide a sufficient volume of air for the engine to not choke.
I know this is totally stupid but I am really curious how well it would work or not work.
Depending on outside temperatures you can cool old diesel engines on air if you don't push them too hard.
There is no way that it would work for a gasoline engine.

No. There would be too much turbulent flow in the water jacket. Not enough heat transfer, plus hotspots where the air doesn't cross.
Engines need to be designed to be effectively aircooled. Fins help dissipate heat, and aircooled engines aren't jacketed in an extra layer of metal which effectively insulates them.
No, water can absorb more heat, blocks dont have enough thermal interfacing surface area for air to wick heat away too. Like fins on a motorcycle engine n shit
Bought my first small Subaru for $1400, going to swap tires and take it to the track this weekend.
Do you guys like it?

how did Honda shit the bed THIS badly?
>>16470615
Honda has been doing and making a lot of in-between cars that don't really fit anywhere
For example the hrv has the size of a crv with none of the benefits of an suv outside of awd. It uses the civic engine and doesn't compete on the same platform the Honda element did for a sporty crv. I think the crz is the same shit. We already have the fit, they effectively made a fit with a hybrid engine and called it a different thing when it's not
They messed up by making it hybrid. Increasing weight and complexity.
>>16470638
I just want them to go back to the old days of making small, hyper efficient commuter vehicles
Looking at used Caymans, any years to avoid? Best years to get?
Thanks

GT4.
>>16470561
Nigga I can't afford that
I don't really know much about Caymans except for the fact that they look gorgeous and every reviewer claims to be the best handling car from Porsche.
Hope you will get a good one.
