Hey anons, I'm a poorfag looking for a project car.
What I'd like
>under 5k
>manual
>RWD
>preferably with a mostly intact interior
I'm making this thread to post things I find and hopefully get feedback from anons about it.
On the subject of things I can't afford while I look for more shit -

Check out this sick Suzuki!

I like the sound of that but I doubt I could pick it up for 5k.
How much should I offer the guy for this 240?
http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/5919029283.html
A 240 was honestly what I was looking for but I can't find one that's not beat to shit.

Is the rust & transmission worth dealing with? I figure the undercarriage is probably rusted to shit too.
>tfw it's literally the only Impreza RS for sale in my area

wonder how bad the damage is to the rear end?
ITT; we assign a car to each of the boards based on the board cultures and personalities.
What would /o/ as a collective individual drive?
/o/ would probably have a meme car like an AE86, Miata, or RX7.
/a/ would have a vaguely condescending weeb car, I'm thinking an S2000 or some other Honda that's used 99% as a grocery getter.
/pol/ is probably inclined towards American muscle or German cars. Maybe a GM F-body? Volkswagen?
/g/ makes you want to think "Tesla" but the botnet paranoia would probably want a modern but old fashioned carbureted car, probably with a futuristic aesthetic and layout while being affordable. Maybe a modded to shit Pontiac Fiero?
/jp/ is like the cozy autistic little brother of /a/ so maybe something like a Subaru Vivio.
/wg/ gets a show car
/sp/ gets a truck for Tailgating
/out/ gets a quad or dualsport
The real question is: what does /x/ get?
Japanese culture.

Hate to be "that fag" but drifting has become the Call of Duty dubstep quickscoping montages of the automotive world and its unfortunate that whenever i play games like Forza that's pretty much all most people want to do or upload. they all usually sound like:

This.

Because it's been adopted by fucking retarded Americans.
So i just discovered that the Koenigsegg One:1 is a 'mega'car and not an ultracar, honestly i didnt even knew that category existed
What other cars have been built that can be described as a megacar thou?
think of them like motorcycles with the terms like superbike, hyperbike and litre bike etc etc etc
None because it's the only car to produce a megawatt of power.

The time has come for me to purchase my second car. I have done countless hours of scouring the internet, test driving, and this is what it boils down to. Practicality is not really an issue, neither is price. My current car is very slow, however, so I would like to ease into more powerful cars. Which one would you get if these were the options, anons?
>2016 Mustang V6
Skids & Female Attention
>2016 WRX, maybe STI
I don't vape but I enjoyed driving it
>2014 E350
It's nice
With a v8.

How will gm ever recover
Why aren't you getting a Model 3, /o/?
Don't you want to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport?
fuck off shill
>>16475158
>Don't you want to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport?
I do, that's why I drive an efficient petrol powered car.
>>16475163
Wow, rude.
>>16475164
But, Anon, petroleum is limited and burning it pollutes our atmosphere. With an electric car, the energy to run it has the potential to come from clean sources like wind and solar.
Is there a database where you put in the features you want for a car (AWD, hatchback, >20mpg, 2010 or newer) and it'll show you which cars have those features available? Most dealerships have this, but only for the cars they're selling. cars.com comes close but it seems to lack options to narrow results.
It's such an obvious website idea it must exist.
>>16474648
Try 4chan
>>16474648
>It's such an obvious website idea it must exist.
Yeah, and you could adapt it so you could input other search parameters and get a comprehensive list of everything that matches those keywords.
Man, a website like that would be great, you would make billions. Might even become a verb.

I inherited a 1990 Crown Victoria today and have to decide what to do with it. It'll start and move. Though it has its fair of problems:
> Its leather roof has withered away a little
> Alternator might be on the way out
> One of its back doors doesn't open
> The air condition belt is missing
> All the windows have to be readjusted
> And all the tires need replacing
Given the age of the vehicle and that my current job doesn't exactly pay well, fixing and driving it is unlikely. How should I sell it and how much could I sell it for?
I'll give you 300 bucks for it.
>>16473894
>Not fixing it and daily driving it.
git gud
you probably wouldnt get much for it
put it on CL for $1000 and work from there
I'm trying to learn manual, but my starts are either too rough, I rev it too high, or I find some other way to fuck it up and it's frustrating to both me and whoever is teaching me. Any tips?
Learn clutch control first, try getting the car moving without using the gas pedal, til you git gud then start using the accelerator pedal.
>>16473637
Would that make it take off slower? Or would it be as fast as using the accelerator?
>>16473659
the concept you need to learn is when the clutch engages. get a feel for modulating the clutch
